bro. People like dragon decks. Blizzard are just adding stuff to the mechanics that are good and leaving the ones that aren't in the past (Joust is dead, but Discover obviously isn't despite both being said to only exist in their initial expansion) where they belong. No need to be such a saltlord over it.
when you play vs dragon decks literally like 1/3 games, and you just lose by default simply because someone picked a dragon deck, got good draws, and literally clicks 1 2 3 4 5 every turn and just plays minion, trades, rinse and repeat, it makes you "salty". It's simply boring. I've never once had the desire to play one and i honestly believe that 2/3 of the "people that love playing dragon decks" solely play them because they're good for laddering and very easy to play. I've watched a ton of HS streamers over the past 2 years, and when dragon priest became a thing, people streamed it for like a day and stopped because no one wanted to play or watch other people playing dragon priest because it's soooooo freaking boring.
when you play vs. any deck that has ever existed you lose if they go 1 2 3 4 5. Not sure why you hate this one for doing what everything else can. Also other dragon decks exist, I'm interested in when Paladin will become a viable choice for the archetype. Also, dragon warrior is better why aren't you whining about that deck instead of shitty tier 4 dragon priest?
People are saying that this is a very good priest card and I agree with this. But while I believe that this would fit best in a priest deck I also think that this card has a very slight disadvantage in priest.
In standard there are 21 non-class dragons (including the book wyrm.) Of these 21 dragons around, 10-12 (depending on the situation) are great late game dragons that you might like to pick above the early game dragons, meaning you have an above 50% chance per card of getting something nice like one of the Deathwings or Onixia.
However because priest has the lowest costing class specific dragon and the fact that the chance to discover a class card is boosted compared to neutral cards this means priest has a very slightly lower chance of getting something good.
Do I think that this tiny difference is enough to ruin the card for priest? Not at all, I just think that this is an interesting thing to remember when discussing the card. Who knows, maybe we'll get a great late game priest dragon in this set and my argument will become invalid. We'll just have to wait and see. :)
Interesting point!
Although this card does not have the best stat line for two mana, it fixes a major issue that dragon decks face, consistency. As the problem that dragon decks face at the moment is ensuring that they actually have a dragon in their hand to get synergy with their early game. Albeit, this card suffers the same issue, if the player has Twilight Guardian in their hand, it guarantees that the effect goes off. Not to mention, that it allows dragon decks to fill out spots in their curve and you have a solid, and potentially constructed viable, card.
In arena, this card will most likely not see play due to requiring dragons to activate its effect.
I would like a Priest only card that says "Battlecry: if you're holding a dragon deal 3 damage to all enemy minions" or something like that.
That would have to be like a 6 mana 3/3 to be somewhat balanced, and even then, that's quite questionable.
I agree but Priest needs it's cheat card. It needs a way to deal with aggro decks early.
Kiblergasm
There are 2 things that make me love this card no matter the power level:
1.More discover, best mechanic ever introduced in Hearthstone, it's good Blizzard supports it
2.They don't let dragon archetype down, also considering Book Wyrm, it was sad that mech completely died with GvG going out but if they keep supporting dragon the archetype can survive the removal of Blackrock and Twilight Guardian
the reason mech died but dragon didn't is because no one liked fighting mech decks because it was all trash aggro. Dragon decks can be aggro, tempo, control, and if using some special dragons even combo.
Erm.. (cough) Welcome to the exhibit!
I think this will be a good card in dragon priest because it supports the desperately needed early game minions. Also it has almost good (enough) stats for the mana cost and it's a neutral too! I really like it!
Also I'm hyped for Netherspite woot!
.. Arena Season 1 Priest set* .. :D
It's great in n'zoth decks, and this is good in dragon decks. It's not better or worse than this card
It isn't as power-creepy as it looks, you still need to be holding a dragon to discover one, museum curator can be played anytime.
The only card that is in both of their card pools is Dragonlord and on average you can get some extremely powerful cards from Curator.
Chillmaw is also in both card pools.
