It's not like the card is even good enough. Drown isn't even close to good enough to make a difference, Priest is still bottom-tier for the rest of this block. Maybe it sees play in the future, but Priest looks like it's staying bottom of the barrel for now. 4-mana is too expensive, and there's not any big minions you want to use this on early-game. Late-game, you don't want the drowned card at the bottom of your deck, because either you want to draw it, or you don't want to fuck with your dredges.
Realistically, what you would want removal for is mana-cheated colossals, but Drown doesn't actually kill those. Drown isn't as good as some people are thinking. It doesn't actually do anything right now.
it's an unconditional removal for 4 mana.. nevermind the fact that its being added to your own deck. It's literally Better Entomb for 2 mana cheaper.
Not that good of a comparison because entomb would see zero play in standard.
While Drown may not be earth-shattering for Priest's place in the meta, this does a little bit for some of the most problematic matchups quest priest has. Unfortunately, DH damage from hand, Warlock curses from hand, infinite pirates, double Kazakusan, and stealing cards all are faster and more effective than the quest at the moment.
As someone who does regularly play all classes, Priest needed something strong.
Disarming Elemental lmao what a creative, correct use of name while other elementals are just Water, Fire, Earth etc Elemental.
Of course priest get the 3 most annoying cards in the mini set :p
Disarming Elemental feels like a tricky card to use ideally. Sure, you can use it to hit a combo piece and make it expensive, but that means you're giving them a combo piece, and if their combo isn't bricked by that card's cost being set to 6, they might stand to benefit from this effect. On the other hand, you can hit some garbage like a 1-drop, Innervate, or Preparation, and force a dead draw, but doing that once seems too weak on a 4 mana 4/4.
Poor Xyrella, guess Deathrattle support is... dead.
The cards look good. However, they won't help priest out of its shitty state though .
Disarming Elemental can be quite cool / annoying if you manage to hit some combo piece (like Brann Bronzebeard in Abyssal Warlock) and mess its cost, but otherwise it's not very impressive card. Drown is very good though.
I dont see how Brann would work with this. The card text is that it sets the cost to 6. Brann would just repeat the same thing, it will make it cost 12.
I guess you can dredge 2 cards but still it's a very slow combo,
I assume they mean if you hit Brann with this and set Brann's cost to 6 mana, making him impossible to combo with. Using this card with Brann seems overkill and a waste of a good Brann.
Exactly as xskarma said, I meant hitting the enemy Brann. By increasing his mana cost, you could destroy curse combo (Brann Bronzebeard + 2x Sira'kess Cultist), since that would be 12 mana instead of 9. And Warlock often needs that to OTK Priest, as he can heal between subsequent curses and escape lethal range fairly quickly.
Not very impressive. While drown looks scary, you take one minion from them, but they have 6 more on board usually... I've died on turns 4/5 more times than I can count this expansion.
Not going to save priest imo.
Jaw hit the floor for drown. Naga is good for serpent wig decks, elemental may see play eventually, decent stats and cost for decent battlecry. Drown though…. Oh yeah. Unconditional kill spell that doesn’t trigger deathrattles is great. Being able to dredge up and cast that minion is just gravy.
You and me both dude hate priest.
as long as the devs insist on priest being a thief class, I will continue to despise it with every fiber of my being
Mind Manipulation, Psionic Powers <-- That's why Priest is a "thief" class
Glad that shadow priest is getting a new shadow spell to work with. Just a few more and it can be a real deck again.
no space for those... like the spell but SWD will be better most of the times, elemental is too slow now, naga maybe for next expansion decks))
