Balance Changes Coming Tomorrow - 8 Changes In Total!
Blizzard just announced 8 balance changes that will go live tomorrow. Let's take a look at what's going to get changed.
One change that you should know about:
- Fixed a bug where completing all Book of Heroes installments would not display the proper achievement or give the proper award. All players who have already completed all 10 Book of Heroes will automatically receive the proper award of a Golden Standard pack.

Dev Comments: After two weeks of monitoring the rapidly evolving United in Stormwind launch metagame, we’re making a few balance changes to slow down the speed of the game by a turn or two. Overall, this translates to two things: limiting the efficiency at which combo decks can assemble the pieces they need to win, and reducing the burst damage that board-based decks have access to from hand. We hope that these changes will give a bit more room for slower strategies to find success in this meta, and we’ll continue to keep an eye on the live game to see if any further changes are needed.

Arena Balance Update
We’ve updated the appearance rate of cards to ensure class balance remains close to the ideal 50% win-rate. Specifically, the win-rate of Druid, Warrior, and Demon Hunter should now be decreased. The win-rate of Mage, Priest, Rogue, and Shaman should now be increased. The win-rate of the other classes should be roughly the same as before.
Bug Fixes & Game Improvements
- Updated the Stealer of Souls animation to now only trigger if the card ends up in your hand (it does not trigger for cards that are Cast When Drawn, such as Soul Shards). The animation will also no longer trigger if the drawn card already costs Health instead of Mana (such as when you have two Stealer of Souls in play).
- Fixed card text errors for Psyfiend and Florist (no functional change to either).
- Fixed a bug where Prismatic Jewel Kit would trigger when effects returned a Divine Shield minion to the owner’s hand or moved a Divine Shield minion from the owner’s hand to the owner’s deck.
- Fixed a bug where Seek Guidance (the Priest questline) would sometimes count the original Cost of cards, instead of the Cost actually paid for the card.
- Fixed a bug where the Initiate Set version of Eye Beam did not properly display card art in the Collection Manager.
- Fixed a bug where Reborn Rites, The Lich King’s Battlegrounds hero power, caused players to disconnect from the game server.
- Added interactions between Pave the Way (part of the Paladin Questline) and Duels-specific hero powers.
- Fixed various bugs in Book of Heroes Gul’dan and Book of Heroes Illidan.
- Fixed a bug where Duels achievements were not tracking properly.
- Fixed a bug where Witchwood collection achievements triggered even though the requirements were not yet met.
- Fixed a bug where completing all Book of Heroes installments would not display the proper achievement or give the proper award. All players who have already completed all 10 Book of Heroes will automatically receive the proper award of a Golden Standard pack.
wow that is not even nearly enough :\
as a warlock players, even I sometimes get bored
Of course that uninteractive gameplay which basically you play by yourself is actually so much fun! Lmao. This has been the most boring meta ever with 3 broken decks that are uninteractive.
Incanter's Flow can't be nerfed, the only solution is deleting that card.

As mainly a duels player I wonder what the upgraded hero powers from rise to the occasion will look like? And does the prismatic jewel kit changes apply to avenging armaments aswell?
I'm a 100% duels only player and I have answers for you.
The 2nd quest line from rise to the occasion (upgraded hero power) does nothing.
Prismatic jewel kit does work with avenging armaments.
From a wild opinion there are 2 changes Darkglare and Conviction (Rank 1). Flesh Giant on 8 or 9 does not make any major difference.
While Darkglare is a nerf Conviction (Rank 1) is an indirect buff to Questline Warlock. The Darkglare change gonna definitely slow it down and make Questline Hunter (??) a more viable counter.
To have some real impact, Blizz would have to change Unlicensed Apothecary (3-Mana 4/4 - deal 2/3 dmg?) or at least Crystallizer
no ignite ? shameee
Once again no care for wild. Warlock, hunter and shaman quests are so op. Any other deck cant compete. Besides their power, they are unfun to play against. Zero interaction, one dimensional games which is over at 5-6 turn. This is the worst wild mode meta for me.
The balance prophets are present in the comment section again, I see. Every single balance patch, forum users judge nerfs poorly. Paladin didn't get nerfed by 1 mana, it got nerfed by 2, as both Conviction and Battlemaster got hit. Hitting Glare and Giant for Warlock is huge. Even the Granite-nerf to 4 Health is a solid hit, as 5-health minions on turn 4 have historically proven to be difficult to deal with.
As always, people here want nerfs to completely kill decks. I am extremely happy Team 5 doesn't take forums seriously as a source of data and sentiment. I am happy with these nerfs, I believe they touched just the right cards. Stealer of Souls has abysmal winrates, for example. Quests have finally given a lot of decks a secondary win-condition.
If you are under the impression that 8 (!) nerfs will not change the meta, you are severely underestimating the fickleness of a meta.
+1 for standard
Remember Quest Mage or Darklglare Warlock nerfs in Wild? The decks were still Tier 1, even after the nerfs
These 8 nerfs will change the Standard meta, but not enough to help the current state of Wild meta of Warlock domination.
Patch is live - Warlock nerfs were not huge. Warlock is still unstoppable in Wild.
So, 24 hours have passed after your ignorant comment. Lets see. Out of the 14(?) games I played, astonishingly all were warlock and mage. In every game, died on turn 6-8. I've tried buff paladin and warrior. I maybe was kind of close in 2 games, getting them down to 9-10 health, but that was a complete lie, cause they'd just dump there hand on me next turn, draw there deck, and win. In Warlocks case, they still, with no slow down whatsoever, obliterate my field, consistently draw, while also healing themselves and damaging me.
This is fucking bullshit, literal garbage. This expansion is actually braindead play, and tilt-inducing. There is no fun. None. Absolutely shit expansion. I still will play though, still a "fun" game. I just dodge everyone that just plays a quest from this point. I don't want to play a game that has no fun. A game is suppose to be fun. Those quests, are NOT fun.
Okay, I'm done ranting :V
Incanter's Flow should be at 4 or 5 mana that card is broken
Oh, come on, don't be so greedy - let it cost 10 mana at once.

No quest nerfs I am shocked.
The Shaman nerf is hilarious. Shamanstone is back
