Balance Changes Coming Next Week - Mage, Paladin, Rogue & Neutral
Alec Dawson, a Lead Designer, just posted a Tweet mentioning balance changes next week as well as what classes will receive them + the final number of changes.
Quote from Alec DawsonBalance changes to go out early next week with 20.0.2. We'll be targeting some cards in Mage, Paladin, Rogue, and Neutral.
Hoping to create more space for experimentation in the early Barrens meta and have a more diverse field of classes.
6 changes in total, details coming soon.

The main problem with Tickatus is that it is useless against aggro/midrange/tempo decks, but it is like godmode against control decks, because of Y'Shaarj, the Defiler.
I'd change Tickatus by removing the corruption effect and it would discard 5 cards from the opponent deck by default. In return it it would have 10 mana cost, maybe some stat increase. This way the card would still provide its original purpose, but you wouldn't be able to double it with Y'Shaarj, the Defiler.
Also Y'Shaarj, the Defiler would still provide Strongman and Cascading Disaster.
How can Warlock keep OTK DH in check, when DH can execute his combo on turn 6-7 (drawing most of his deck in the process) and OTK his opponent, while Warlock can do his thing on turn 8 (or 7 with coin)?
I wonder how they are going to change Deck of lunacy, increasing mana? i think is not enough its a good card even at 5 mana
They could reduce the buff of the cards to 2 or even 1 so it less consistently gets finisher cards. Truthfully though refreshing springwater is, in my opinion, a bigger offender in that deck since the deck itself can be so efficient with mana.
I wanna say watch posts, but they all have same kind of a stat layout.
2 mana 2/4
3 mana 3/5
4 mana 4/6
so I dont think they gonna mess that thing. maybe they gonna make Mor'shan Watch post summon 1/1's?
(I also think spell mage is powerful because it counters Mor'shan Watch post)
but if they decide to forget about the watch post stat layout, then its gotta be changing the 2/4 a 2/3.
Watch posts are problematic specially in early game, so I think they'll increses its cost by 1 or change its health by 1 less.
Sword of the Fallen I feel should be a 3 mana 2/2. Kind of similar to Anchar.
No Tickatus nerf? This can't be serious...
Tickatus will still continue shredding you combo / control players hahaha
Free dust incoming boiiiiii
I think Pen Flinger can only damage minions.
The one time he posts a sensible statement and they still vote it down.
Agreed.
But I don't think that they'll Efficient Octo-bot I'm sure they'll nerf Jandice instead.
Also, I hope that Deck of Lunacy nerf is: It only increses the spells' cost by 1 or 2 instead of 3, because mage draw and spell discount is too strong, delaying Deck of Lunacy 1 turn it's not enough, they even beat you easily without drawing the card, the issue with that card at this moment is the small pool of spells which makes the rng too solid.
And finally, Pen Flinger for 2 mana destroys the card. I think It will be it can only target minions.
Very good suggestions but regarding watchposts. I believe they have too high attack, you usually have to throw 2/3 cards to deal with them. They are pretty freaking good in terms of their value. I would not mind though if the one that summons grunts becomes 1/1 instead.
I'm really happy the Hearthstone team is being so nimble with these changes. A few years ago we'd have to wait a month or two before any changes were made. It's not great they don't test these cards enough pre-release to ensure things are more balanced from the outset but at least they are quick to address perceived issues to ensure we have a diverse meta.
Tickatus right now:
:D :D
Awesome, another week of unplayable ladder.
Love how arrogant and pompous these mage lunacy players are... just like the outlands release demon hunters. It’s like they actually think that piloting broken decks equates to having skill or skin in the game.
Lol take it easy, brother. People pilot broken decks because they win. Every expansion, every meta, every time. This isn't anything new and I have to believe you've conjured up this image of Mage and Paladin players pounding their chests and declaring their superiority to the world. People just want to win games, it's not much deeper than that.
