Balance Changes Coming Next Week - Mage, Paladin, Rogue & Neutral
Alec Dawson, a Lead Designer, just posted a Tweet mentioning balance changes next week as well as what classes will receive them + the final number of changes.
Quote from Alec DawsonBalance changes to go out early next week with 20.0.2. We'll be targeting some cards in Mage, Paladin, Rogue, and Neutral.
Hoping to create more space for experimentation in the early Barrens meta and have a more diverse field of classes.
6 changes in total, details coming soon.

I don't agree. If they're still not fine after the nerfs change the meta, then that would warrant moving around cards in the upcoming expansions to emphasize giving the bad classes good cards. Which they've done in the past.
for the new post achievement
Don't worry about hate
I don't know man, Tickatus just getting his face smashed by every other aggro or tempo deck.
It sure can be efficient against control decks, but at least it has it's weakness.
Lunacy on the other hand has basically no counter. It should have been nerfed yesterday, not nex week, ridiculous...
I don't mind facing 1 tickatus in a game but when paired with Y'Shaarj, the Defiler it becomes so frustrating. Of course this is problem when playing midrange-controlish decks. I just feel scammed when I build deck and only get to play 2/3 of it before reaching fatigue.
I just want to say thank you to Blizzard for the butt ton of dust. In all seriousness though being in silver is literal hell. Its just all mages and I play Libram, The sword is way too good and is a straight up coin target. Keeping its stats and making it a 3 cost is completely fine.
DEAL WITH TICKETUS.... It feels like cube lock all over again.
I cant imagine how can you compare both cards. I understand that losing your last 10 cards (or just 5) is not funny but Cubelock was really different, regardless of your deck and board state cubelock can just win always and make any deck feels useless. Tickatus by itself is not really a problematic card. The 2 main reason for lock succes are Rustwinx and Jarraxus, both cards tthat are run in literally every single Lock deck. If you ask me those are the problematic cards. Its not funny to play against "infinite" value in a meta game where almost every class lose their value generatos. Priest dont have tons of value, Mage is the the only class aside warlock that retains their value engine, but shaman druid paladin demon hunter and even rogue have to play the fair game when Mage and Lock just keep cheating stuff when they run out of gas.
I want to say I'll be surprised if rogue gets hit before tickatus, but I won't be.
The problem with Tickatus all along is that, mathematically speaking, Tickatus isn't good. Instead, Tickatus is just a bullshit NPE. It's unfun, but doesn't win enough games to be meaningful.
I think Blizzard should just get rid of it, since deleting your own cards is usually useless, and deleting an opponent's cards is likewise usually useless. But in those rare control vs control matches, it's just toxic. Changes to bad but toxic cards are some of the hardest ones for game designers to make.
However, rogue's endless Pen Flinger miracles, or Mage's absurd spell decks, are just far worse for the game of Hearthstone in general, because they have a massive warp on win-rates and deck play-rates. Meanwhile, the nerfs are going to be pretty easy.
Its nothing to do with WR. Mage vs Mage match ups skew that narrative.
DoL has a an almost 70% WR when kept on mulligan only 2nd to that dumb Paladin sword.
I can think of 3 cards off the top of my head that are easy candidates for nerfing. Deck of Lunacy, Refreshing Spring Water and Pen Flinger. The other 3 cards, I'm not sure about.
Mechanically, I can see them changing Libram discounts to be not less than 1, but that's less of a 'card' nerf and more of a 'mechanic' nerf. And rogue? Hell, I'm not even sure what in rogue warrants a nerf, other than perhaps Secret Passage. I mean, their new weapon is extremely powerful but it's hard countered by oozes. Maybe their new draw engine minion that draws from combo/battlecries? (sorry, can't recall the names of some of the new cards off the top of my head).
I sincerely hope the watch posts don't get nerfed. I don't run them in my deck (currently) but I really like them and once the other nerfs take hold, I'd like to think I'll find a place for them.
It's almost certainly going to be: deck of lunacy, sword of the fallen, pen flinger, far watch post, mor'shan watchpost, and a rogue card (maybe efficient octo-bot or field contact). Spring water is good, but a lot of cards are good, and they have been doing their best to not kill archetypes with recent nerfs.
i'm having a lot of trouble dealing with that octo-bot, almost accepting rogue will get that -1 mana to her hand, 4 toughness is just too much to deal with at that stage. I think 1/3 would be more interesting, opening up a lot more 2 cost removal than just combustion.
GOOD. THANK YOU
MAY START TO ENJOY PLAYING AGAIN
Don't count on it.
Field contact nerf?
Exactly my thought
How were they able to copy and corrupt 4 copies of the card while you still had that many cards in the deck?
Not talking for him, but in wild i manage to maximize my deck count from time to time. And in standard i witnessed some insane fragment counts in my enemies decks.
My predictions (maybe more like hopes):
Rogue:
Secret Passage - Down from drawing 4 cards down to 3.
Octobot - up 1 mana cost
Swindle - Up 1 mana cost
Mage:
Refreshing Water - Refreshes only 1 crystal instead of two. I agree with everyone on this suggestion
Mozaki - Up 2 mana cost
Neutral:
Pen Flinger - Only targets minions. This seems to be the universal idea/suggestion made by the community to keep the card playable with out destroying it completely and I agree. Targeting minions only makes this thing way more manageable.
People should also keep in mind with their guesses they did say it was only a max of 6 targets this time for the balance.
