You need to play a lot of paladin secret that are terrible and easy to proc and you need to draw that one legendary in order to make your whole deck work (in a class with the worst draw "power" in the game)
Avenge, Noble Sacrifice, Oh My Yogg! , Reckoning are terrible , sure. Kappa (Not saying the card is good but yeah)
I'm no deckbuilding sage, but I agree that you need more secret support than just this to make it work.
Hunter by comparison has Eaglehorn Bow, Phase Stalker, Petting Zoo, and Ringling's Rifle as secret support. That's enough for the secret package to be included in at least some hunter decks.
yes they are terrible, they are decent if generated from other source but you won't play 8 paladin secret in your deck just for this legendary
and most of this secrets will get triggered before you can play Cannonmaster Smythe
*and if you w8 turn 9 in order to do the BIG PLAY it'is neither strong vs value deck or vs agro deck
The card is clearly meant to be a finisher, if it's going to work or not this is another story ,,, and no the secrets are not terrible.
Paladin secrets cost 1, of course they can't be as good as 2 mana hunter secrets, or 3 mana mage secrets
A deck doesn't have to go for only one win condition. For example, this could be a nice package for libram paladin but that deck already plays the degenerate pen flinger strat and no way they change it for this.
how is this a finisher? it needs, on turn 9, 5 card in order to summon a 4/4 and 4 3/3 and it does nothing, no taunt no rush ecc.. in a deck with paladin secrets that have low impact.
in the clip that was posted, and it was probably the best possible scenario, he would probably die the next turn vs that rogue
compare this to Mordresh Fire Eye, that is a finisher (and waaaaaay easier to set up and way more impactful) this is just bad (unless paladin get some crazy secrets synergy)
I disagree with you on some points, The paladin secrets we have now are terrible, but the worst ones are rotating out and the core set is bringing a couple of really good ones back. Avenge won't proc unless you have at least 2 minions in play and they kill one and while Reckoning is easier to proc, a lot of times your opponent may not want to. Same with Oh My Yogg!.
The part where I agree with you is that paladin's card draw is trash and that will be the biggest thing holding this back, but if paladin gets more draw in future reveals or another neutral draw like Voracious Reader is introduced I think this will see play.
The secrets you have up? Or the secrets in your hand and deck?
If it's the secrets you have up, this is pretty bad, as Paladin secrets don't last very long.
Secrets in Play, I believe if it targeted anything else it would’ve stated that.
When they print a 4 Mana Mysterious Challenger, its broken, else its bad.
You mean Bellringer Sentry?
I wonder how the deathrattle is worded. Silence effects clearly destroy a secret, but if, say, a Priest uses Shadow Madness to take one of them then who gets the secret when it dies?
I guess the priest
Utter trash
Because Mass Dispel saw a lot of play?
noble sacrifice can sacrifice himself twice now
I know people want to get excited for the new cards, but if there is no other support for Paladin secrets, this is utter trash. In the demo version they played the card on turn 10, with 5 secrets. Yeah, good luck with that.
turn 10 big play *aaaaaaaaaaaaand he would have probably died vs that rouge player)
