Recruit should have never existed in the first place. Summon from deck is very clear and not complex. I’m glad they’re not using the mechanic anymore.
They are still using the recruit mechanic, as this card highlights, they just dropped the keyword. Same with Echo and "repeatable this turn". The developers think that keywords are too confusing and intimidating for new players to have more permanent keywords, but still want to add a new one for only a handful of cards almost every expansion.
I also wouldn't be surpsrised if some future cards feature a phrase like "After you cast your next spell..."
Exactly. Is one os the most common mecanics y card game.
Druid has only 2 beasts <= 5 mana, Crystal Stag and Steel Beetle, and both are battlecry.
Mukla Meta, ARISE!
So pretty safe to assume there's gonna be more beasts that haven't been revealed yet.
I dunno, sometimes they just throw in these synergistic cards but wait for like... the next set to add cards that have synergy with it. But since we've seen almost zero pure class cards, I imagine, yeah.
Sure, but that was before the reveal stream. Now there's also Twilight Runner (which will draw you two cards immediately) and Teacher's Pet for Druid minions, plus neutral Lake Thresher (which is a bigger Cave Hydra and really strong with Rush).
Yeah Blizzard actually put in synergy cards for once. I don't think there's anything that just lacks synergy in the set.
Turn 2 Prince Keleseth, Turn 3 Shan'do Wildclaw
Turn 6 The Coin + Guardian Animals = Tundra Rhino + Stranglethorn Tiger ? :o
the beast cost 6 so it would have to be some thing else
Oh right so Stranglethorn Tiger or Mok'Nathal Lion
not the Beast-Card i wanted :(
Imagine if there was already existing keyword that would simplify card text hmmmm
They don't like repeating keywords from different expansions. Keeps the minimum keywords to understand less confusing for players
They wanted to keep Recrtuit to Kobolds specific, much like Spellburst and Inspire.
Just like discover was an ungoro thing right? Don’t know why they don’t reuse keywords. Seems kinda dumb.
spellburst's effect didn't appear before tho
It didn't, but whether Spellburst effect would appear again on cards' text or not has been a part of the Q/A, and Blizz representative clearly stated that Spellburst is Scholomance-specific.
Discover belonged to the League, and because they managed to strike something much more valuable than gold or cigar with the mechanic - so good and innovative it was back then, the keyword was kept.
You gotta agree, better this kept than recruits or inspire. I would much rather see that than "Choose one of the three randomly generated cards".
