Discover was introduced in the League of Explorers adventure, Adapt was the Un'goro keyword.
But Discover was always meant to be an evergreen keyword.
I think if there was gonna be more than one recruit-style card in a set they'd reuse discover, but when it's just one card I think they don't see the point.
Adapt was a Un’goro specific keyword. Discover, Lifesteal and Rush are the only keywords they are reusing, simply because: Discover is a very specific mechanic, Lifesteal is pretty straightforward and frees up a lot of text space, and Rush basically replaced Charge.
The folks saying "But Blizzard doesn't like to reuse keywords outside of the initial set" really kinda miss the point. We all understand that Blizzard doesn't like doing it, we just think it's silly.
Some stuff labeled Echo and some stuff not labeled Echo is more confusing, not less. Likewise how some effects are summon from deck, and some are recruit. Is there a difference? No? Why then is there a difference in wording? It doesn't make sense to a lot of folks that Bliz has this hangup, particularly since a lot of stuff like Rush and Discover has stuck around.
