All The Demon Hunter Nerfs - Now Live!
After making an announcement earlier today, Blizzard followed up with a post with the details of the Demon Hunter Nerfs. Several cards had mana changes and Aldrachi Warblades had a durability change. There were also offering rate changes to a whole host of Arena cards. These changes are live in game now. Read all the details below!
Quote from BlizzardHey everyone,
Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll be keeping an eye on the power level of Demon Hunter. Our goal is to make changes when necessary in order to get Demon Hunter to where we believe it should be. Today, we’ll be applying the following balance updates to a few Demon Hunter cards in a server-side patch (meaning you won’t have to download anything):
- Skull of Gul'dan – Mana cost increased from 5 to 6.
- Imprisoned Antaen – Mana cost increased from 5 to 6.
- Eye Beam – Outcast Mana cost increased from 0 to 1.
- Aldrachi Warblades – Durability decreased from 3 to 2.
We wanted to get these changes out the door today, and in doing so you will only see the new stats for these cards—displayed in both red and green—in matches, not in your Collection. The red and green numbers will return to white and the cards will be updated in your Collection with a data-only patch that we’re expecting to deploy before the end of the day tomorrow.
For Arena, we’re making changes today that will see Demon Hunter class card offering rates decreased until we’re able to properly address the class with more accurate micro-adjustments in a future patch. The following cards have had their offering rates reduced in Arena:

Yessss! And the best thing is I had a golden Skull of G.!
On HSReplay, the demon hunter tempo decks are tanking to 50% WR, so I think they've overshot.
Aldrachi Warblades in particular is now rather weak, which is a shame as the idea of DH having a staple mid-tier lifesteal weapon is pretty cool.
I'm actually really happy with the cards targeted here. Those were pretty much the card I noticed made a huge swing in the games whenever played.
Have you realized that it deals 6 damage to face when the opponent's board is empty? Have you realized that it has the potential to remove big minions and massively help trading. Baron Geddon is a 2 damage repetitive AOE (that also hits your own board and hero), she's way more powerful than that. Not to mention she has one more health and can be played as a two-of.
Still not a update in EU
Shut up and stop complaining, DH is fine now.
More nerfs pls. Already got 2k dust... need... more...
This is so far from enough.
How a company like Blizzard can miss the mark SO fucking hard is beyond me. Someone should get fired.
Its honestly embarassing and its like they dont know how many people are playing their game and pouring money in to it.
Dude it's not a mistake its marketing.
Activision be like: Lets show the masses bored with our game some broken op stuff to make them by preorders, and nerf it to the ground asap.
nope if you collect all the rares(or any rarities) ONCE you lose that duplicate protection
I guess these are fair changes for the time being. I hope they won't overdo it though. Shaman dropped from the top to the very bottom last expansion and still looks weak. Maybe try to balance a class somewhere between the two extremes, like Galakrond Warrior.
However it affects the class, I hope it will make a few players start playing other classes again. Seeing Illidan for 6+ matches back to back was getting boring.
6+ matches? Try for 3h STRAIGHT! Had a blast!
not.
They said they will nerf cards if needed next week so stop complaining, that are great nerfs.
More will come and soon. It's a nice start
They wont nerf anything else now, DH is fine now.
these nerfs do nothing because those cards are so strong that a mana increase of +1 is too weak nerf
thx for free 400 dust! anyway i will get those 4 rares in next 4 packs!
That's not how dupe protection works
why, I already have all rares, if i dust one, i will get it in next pack, right?
no, that's how it used to work for no dupes for legendaries back before these changes
now if you ever collected a card it is marked on the server as collected, and even if you de it, it never changes, it's made so that if someone gets a card that they don't want and de it, they won't get it in the packs until they have all other cards of that rarity
and once you get all the cards once then forever you'll be getting random ones(unless it's classic set and they actually add new cards to it)
