All The Demon Hunter Nerfs - Now Live!
After making an announcement earlier today, Blizzard followed up with a post with the details of the Demon Hunter Nerfs. Several cards had mana changes and Aldrachi Warblades had a durability change. There were also offering rate changes to a whole host of Arena cards. These changes are live in game now. Read all the details below!
Quote from BlizzardHey everyone,
Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll be keeping an eye on the power level of Demon Hunter. Our goal is to make changes when necessary in order to get Demon Hunter to where we believe it should be. Today, we’ll be applying the following balance updates to a few Demon Hunter cards in a server-side patch (meaning you won’t have to download anything):
- Skull of Gul'dan – Mana cost increased from 5 to 6.
- Imprisoned Antaen – Mana cost increased from 5 to 6.
- Eye Beam – Outcast Mana cost increased from 0 to 1.
- Aldrachi Warblades – Durability decreased from 3 to 2.
We wanted to get these changes out the door today, and in doing so you will only see the new stats for these cards—displayed in both red and green—in matches, not in your Collection. The red and green numbers will return to white and the cards will be updated in your Collection with a data-only patch that we’re expecting to deploy before the end of the day tomorrow.
For Arena, we’re making changes today that will see Demon Hunter class card offering rates decreased until we’re able to properly address the class with more accurate micro-adjustments in a future patch. The following cards have had their offering rates reduced in Arena:

you give people one class after so many years so the people come back to play and you nerf it in one day and now you cant win anyone gj blizzard gj can you give me my dust back the 4000 that i spent for the dh no i think right??
Oh you can try the decks with a 65% winrate in diamond
This class is pretty broken...these nerfs don't stop the increasing amount of DH in this meta...
People are just coming back to DH after deckbuilders adapted to the changes.
I think most the newer players went back to their old decks though.
No sympathy for the people who crafted Kayn Sunfury and Metamorphosis to faceroll on day one getting their decks nerfed down to a reasonable powerlevel. If you were not prepared, it's your own fault :)
Kayn Sunfury is still the best finisher in standard and Metamorphosis is best in wild.
In My opinion DH, Druid and Rogue should be all nerfed and tuned a little down or maybe the other classes should be buffed a bit.
Right now the game is too much unbalanced and offers a poor experience.
Why should they constantly nerf what's strong? There's always going to be a few tier one decks. Druid isn't even overpowered right now, if they miss drawing Overgrowth they get torn to shreds by any deck faster than them.
There is a big difference between strong an OP.
Each play should have some response or have high risk. Many of the strategies from the class I mentioned before have no bad sides and a too high payoff, nor there is anything the opponent can do to prevent them from reaching their goal.
Plz blizzard no more nerfs, dh is fine now, actually he's worse than fine, he's fourth with 50% wr, hes literally TIER 2, i think you've hit him way too hard
1. Release a whole class that's so obviously busted that it almost had to be intentional.
2. Let people get a chance to see how busted it is so they spend 4000 dust on crafting the deck.
3. Nerf the best cards and offer 400 dust to return those.
= Profit
how is it that such a company as blizzrard leader in the video game for so many years
as not been able to release a brand new game and is making mistake after mistake ?
A nerf coming out this soon is kind of ridiculous. I crafted 2 legendaries to play a deck that less than 24 hours later is crap. I would rather go back to having 1 balance change per expansion rather than having something like this with very little warning.
It'd be fine if we got to dust anything we crafted in the past 2 days for full value, but that's not the case here.
The thing that is ridiculous is that all play demon hunter. I know it's a new class but others got some new, cool cards too. After playing for an hour I played vs 0 non demon hunter decks. Now after nerfs it's still the same. Demon hunter feels too opressive and it needs more nerfs. When it comes to crafting legendaries, everyone saw the nerfs coming even during reveals. Blizzard on purpose made them OP so they can quickly gather some data. If you prefer to have the strongest deck ever and have no balance in the game guess you don't care about all of that, but if you want Hearthstone to not be a piece of garbage you should be glad they nerf when needed not after long time of unfun, unbalanced meta.
A nerf coming out this soon is good :). I bought a bundle and crafted 6 legendaries to play multiple decks that were obliterated by 100% op demon hunter bulcrap. I would rather not release cards like Skull of Guldan after I decided Nourish was too good for 5 mana.
It's fine that you don't get the dust you crafted in the past 2 days for full value as people climbed the ladder using this dumb op new class more than they did in their entire life.
Why does Scout get downvoted? This is a pretty damn solid complaint. They released a whole class that was so obviously busted that it almost had to be intentional, then nerf it after people got excited about and spend money on crafting the whole deck.
I mean, 5 mana draw 3 cards and reduce their cost by 3? What the fuck?
These nerfs are fairly light, I use all 3 of the nerfed cards in my current DH deck and still winning.
IMO, the biggest nerf one is Imprisoned Antaen that I liked to drop on turn 4 with a Coin.
They are not light. Mana nerfs are never light. NO nerfs are ever light in Hearthstone. 6 mana is much slower than 5. 0 to 1 mana is a completely different card. 3 to 2 durability is a neutering. All four at once is overkill.
Nourish got nerfed from 5 mana to 6 and Skull of Gul'dan is much stronger than it. Imprisoned Antaen nerf may make it so not majority of demon hunters are aggro, since it's still perfectly viable in control.Eye Beam for 0 was too snowbally. Demon hunter arleady has great early and that made card being 0 mana will slow down, but still not kill the snowball.
sorry, but i've won every game against dh with galakrond warlock. Perhaps the nerfs were too early, now dh is only tier 2
