This is an interesting value card. Minimum, your paying 2 for the minion and 2 for the Rogue secret. In which case it's a better stated Arcane Keysmith. However, it's extremely flexible. On turn 10 you can pay 6 mana for any combo of secrets. 3 Hunter, 2 Mage, 4 Paladin and anywhere in between.
Not to mention, you can always choose and hold a secret or just use Paladin secrets to "Reroll" the discover options. In wild, you could get Ice Block and not have to worry about healing.
Lastly, I haven't even touched on the concept of copying Hanar. You could shuffle copies into your deck with Tog's scheme and gain multiple secrets at a time. Extremely flexible but heavily dependent on a slower Rogue deck and the secrets themselves getting triggered.
Cmon, EVIL Miscreant was too sticky as 1/5 at 3 mana and needed to be nerfed, but a constant effect 1/5 at 2 mana is just fine?
Well, EVIL Miscreant is a common card, this one a legendary. It's supposed to feel like this. Since it's only one card, you'll get it quite less often in turn 2 than other cards.
Additionally, apparently they want to resurrect secrets in Rogue, which I kinda agree. For that, they'd need strong synergies, since right now we have only one secret in standard, and this set will give us maybe one or two more.
Wow 5 health.
Lul! These stats, it seems like 3 mana to me or they should make it 1/4 because it may be used just for its stats.
Upgradeable Framebot with an Upside.
Based on the art I'm assuming it's going to always offer 1 random Paladin secret, 1 random Mage secret and 1 random Hunter secret.
If that's the case then you could play it on turn 8 with a Rogue secret and then guarantee play 4 more Paladin secrets.
I was thinking the same thing, kind of like the Mean Streets of Gadgetzan multi-class cards, which always gave you one choice from each class. (Lotus Agents, Kabal Courier, Grimestreet Informant)
Q: Does Shadowjeweler Hanar's text mean that you’re offered a Hunter, Paladin, and Mage secret in the discover options each time? The flavor is bonkers. I love this card, amazing design.
A: You're offered one from each class. But it depends on which class the Secret you're playing is from. If you play a Rogue Secret, you're offered Mage, Paladin, and Hunter. If you pick the Paladin Secret and play it, you'll be offered Rogue, Mage, and Hunter.
One cool thing here is that it's not "after you play a rogue secret..." but any secret including the one you just discovered. So you could have him and only one secret in your hand and then go full Christmas tree on a late turn, or several early turns if the opponent doesn't deal with him.
Phase stalker is much better than this and its not even a legendary...
This new secret package will need to be too good to be competitive. Galakrond rogue is still number 1 for sure.
But... phase stalker is a hunter card?? Why can't Rogue have its own card?
they killed rogue again via shadow realming leeroy so they can force secrets again in rogue, hopefully they don't suck this time
And on turn 10 you make a Christmas tree over your Hero :D
God, I'm so tired of burgle rogue cards. Is this the only thing we will get for rogue now? Deathrattle and burgle cards that are either complete garbage or go straight into tempo rogue.
Actually, I think that burgle is the think that suits Rogue the most. The idea of "stealing" cards fits it perfectly
Rogue secrets will need to be pretty good to justify this. Although, Sunreaver Spy remains a card as well so I suppose there is more synergy out there.
This looks fun a d that stat line is awesome!
at least good to see they are trying to push Roque into a different direction, apart from that Galakrond madness, unfortunately this one does too little to make the deck appealing tho, it should put that discovered Secret right into play.
