Nah am good. Did you get triggered?
A counter to your argument would be that many people would also leave if there was no unpredictability. The game would become stale much quicker after each expansion and year after year the game would feel extremely monotonous.
I think random elements like this are good for the game, but I can agree some are annoying. My unfavorites include Lightning Storm (combined with the Shaman hero power's randomness) and Viscious Fledgling. (Edit: Barnes is pretty dumb too)
As long as an entire match doesn't feel like one single powerful and unpredictable card determined the outcome, I feel as though it was a fair match. However I still like the idea of Yogg-Saron and his purpose in the game.
Mate, no sane person would actually consider this as an esport.
It's competitive, it's fun to watch... and that's it. Anyone can be a champion with a full collection of cards and the basic skill of a toddler.
Just enjoy the game. Don't take it too seriously.
I got RANDOM
Value Cyclone, Hello Value mage.
As someone who tries to force every class to have a miracle deck, I like this card a lot.
That being said, I don't think this style of deck has the support it needs right now to really take off. Sorcerer's Apprentice is good for keeping the cost of spells cheap so you can play lots of spells in one turn, but there is not a lot of ways to sustain a cheap chain of spells in mage aside from something like Research Project to let you go all in on the miracle idea. This card could be decent as just a supporting card for a more spell-slinging type of mage deck but again, I don't really see that type of thing happening with cards like Arcanologist rotating out.
Un'Goro (which includes Arcanologist) is rotating with Rise of Shadows. Just a heads up.
I know that. My last sentence didn't come out right, thanks for catching that.
This might see some experimentation, but I doubt it will see too much play unless there is some really good synergy added. It would have been interesting to see this card at the same time with leyline manipulator. Compare this card to Ruby Spellstone. I would say playing 3 spells before this card is not unreasonable, and then this card turns into a full Spellstone with a 2/2 body, which is good. But playing 3 spells in one turn is not likely to happen. I remember back in the Flamewaker days sometimes you get 3 spells in a turn, but more often than not it is two spells max and then more the following turn, but this card has to do it all in one turn. That is the problem. the 2/2 body doesn't really make much of a difference late game, and it doesn't generate anymore afterwards, so your opponent doesn't have to respect it. Random spells are also worth less than discovered spells. It kind of reminds me of a babbling book that you can't play in the early game, which makes me hesitant to craft this epic.
This will see TONS of play. Especially in Wild. Huge value and it only costs 2 mana to fill your hand. If the text read Battlecry - Fill hand with 5 random mage spells, just from a 2/2 2 drop the world would be exploding. Basically that's exactly what this card is. This card is broken in the value it generates. Absolutely busted in Wild getting Tomes, Portals you name it. Completely insane. Not to mention you can discover this from other elementals and other means. Mages ran Cabalist's Tome all the time. This card shits all over Tome. Draw the same or double the cards for less than half the mana cost plus you get a 2/2 body.
lmao, yeah 5 spells + this card played in one turn is probably the average value we should looking for with this card
Spellnado
Mana Cyclone: "Can I gift you some random spell?"
Me: "No thanks, I play to win..."
Pre nerf mana wyrm, this would have been sick in burn mage
Elemental Evocation makes this card cost 0 mana, and gives it a free random mage card.
And you only need 2 slots in your deck!
Not a bad combo, but the question becomes is it worth the deck space for an RNG spell. Would you rather add a better minion and a spell you want in your deck. My opinion, this card doesn't see play unless a tempo element mage becomes a thing.
What if we add a Vexcrow in this formula?
