Nobody run unleash on this meta, and who would put a unleash in a zul'jin deck? This is called bad synergy and you can build a deck around it, you are not obligated to put unleash in it
the card is strong, it's another n'zoth or gul'dan Dk ffçor hunter decks that summon minions through spells, you jsut dont play hounds in this kind of deck and thats it, but flanking strike and upgraded spell stone, you do play those.
Don't really see this being viable. Deathstalker Rexxar's hero power is simply way stronger, and as mentioned before unless you want this guy to be 100% rng based you have to avoid running cards like Kill Command and Hunter's Mark.
And yes, you COULD theoretically run this guy alongside deathstalker however deathstalker's hero power is way better so you usually want to play this guy first meaning deathstalker is a dead card until you get an opening to drop this 10 mana card which really only summons a couple medium sized beasts and a christmas tree (and that's if you cast all of your spells first!)
A big issue I see is that without the early game removal you simply won't have the time to get to turn 10 and actually play this guy and get away with it. Another alarm bell for me is that in 4 months Emerald Spellstone, To My Side!, Wandering Monster and Candleshot are rotating. These are some of the most powerful cards in spell hunter / secret hunter and without them I fear the battlecry on zul'jin won't be good enough.
I hope that blizzard decides to print some support for this guy in the rotation set or else I fear the worst in terms of playability.
Looks like we will have another “Dr. Boom is not a great card” in hand.
You can still run Kill Command and Hunter’s Mark. It isn’t the worst thing in the world to get hit 10 to the face because you get 5 armor from Zuljin. You can play deathstalker rexxar first. You can never play Zuljin. It depends on the match. If you are up against deadman’s hand warrior ofc you wont play Zuljin and keep your deathstalker rexxar hero power. If you are playing against aggro ofc you want to play Zuljin to give you a board, block 2 minion attacks with wondering monster and freezing trap and potentially kill minions with explosive trap. Not to mention Zuljin makes Crushing Walls and Deadly Shot worth considering.
Spell hunter naturally will cast enough spells for big effect on Zuljin. Midrange hunter can cast two secrets and a flanking strike and it would honestly be enough payback.
Hero power looks OP AF.
I get that the effect is cool and all, but why use Zul'jin? The only thing actually fitting his character is the hero power which isn't even the main focus of the card.
Order is most certainly random, would be unusual if they changed it just for this card.
if you play ''secret hunter'' with this, you may get ''secret priest'' as a result! :)
Battlecry looks op as hell
SHOUTING you mean? :P
HOLY CRAP that reveal video has to be the best EVAARRR!!!
Why exactly? How exactly?
because everything is cringy apparently
RNG bullsh#t what a waste of a great character
Yeah, that's why odd mage is so popular. /s
there are many reasons why people don't play Odd Mage, but the hero power isn't one of them.
There's a need to build the deck around this hero. Otherwise it might don't work well.
Don't like either side of this card. From the flavour perspective, what does Zul'jin have to do with casting spells? Firing various arrow shots, summoning beasts...he's a berzerker. From the gameplay perspective, about the only things you're going to be happy about recasting 100 % of the time are secrets, if they have been activated already. The rest of Hunter spells are targeted. You get a Wolf from Flanking Strike, then blow him up with Explosive Shot. You summon 2 Wolves from Emerald Spellstone, then Hunter's Mark one of them and Arcane Shot the other. Even if you build the deck the right way you're just flipping coins on the targets because as much as you need spells that summon beasts, like Call of the Wild, you need spells that kill opposing minions or face. That face can be yours. Those minions can be yours. Unless you literally just run secrets, spellstone and spells like Call of the Wild and Unleash the Hounds, you'll be crossing your fingers with this card. And the summon spells will overfill your board, most likely, so instead of getting a full Call of the Wild, you might get a Huffer and that's it because you'll have 2 3/3 Wolves and 4 1/1 hounds in play. Before they blow themselves up. Did I mention things blow themselves up?
I don't see the problem with running this alongside DK Rexxar, especially in decks like Spell or Secret Hunter. Against more board centered decks Rexxxar is often too slow. or just not as much of a board swing. I have lost enough games against Big Spell Mage because the hero power just didn't produce good enough results when all i needed was a way to get back on the board.
Just play it in any deck with enough secrets, throw in deadly shots and maybe a crushing wall and you have an emergency Yogg with no downsides. LIterally the only card you can't run with this is Tracking, just because you would dump 4 cards for no reason.
Ideally you play it before Rexxar and if that doesn't work you can still use it as a backup if rexxar isn't enough. Against hard control you won't need it, but against everything else it can work as a last ditch effort to try and finish the game (for example, Rexxar doesn't really do that much against combo Druids)
This card makes Crushing Walls and a number of other less optimal Hunter spells a consideration just because you get twice the value from it.
Say hello to my little friend !!!
I'm happy with this card. It will see play or not, Finally we have a Troll Hero that means we have Troll quotes !!!
