Golakka crawler says hi
Oof, this one hurts. Thankfully, Kingsbane Rogue doesn't usually want Pirates with the exception of Greenskin, so the deck thinning potential of this still doesn't quite match a Coldlight, though it might replace or second for a Shinyfinder. The big issue with Pirates for Kingsbane Rogue is that pirates tend to be exclusively aggressive and Kingsbane operates as a control deck. Sure, Naga Corsair is a thing, but Wild has access to much better tools to upgrade Kingsbane. If the expansion somehow manages to combine to two or just gives us another weapon that an aggro pirate deck might want, we be in biiig trubla, man. Alternatively, Thief rogue might use this to tutor Spectral Cutlass and both Swashburglars, so it's less likely to become a dead card compared to Shinyfinder in that strategy. Either way, it's a draw 3 for the right Rogue deck. If there is a deck that can even remotely use this, it will find a home without question.
Cutthroat buccaneers + Kingsbane
Good card by itself but inclusion in decks rate will depend on how viable the current and new pirates and weapons are
In one of the titles the card is still refered to as Fluffy Rogue Spell.
Kingsbane Pirate Rogue is already on the verge of being viable.
This card definitely makes it good enough.
And notice that you can even merge the whole package in a Odd Kingsbane Pirate Rogue (not sure whether it makes sense tho).
I wonder about Wild...
Why not run Shadowbalde or Assassin's bale in Odd Rogue instead? Rogue has plenty of really powerful odd-cost weaapons. I feel like Kingsbane doesn't fit into the odd archetype.
Why would you wanna play weapons in odd rogue? You access to Poisoned Dagger all the time.
Any 3 mana draw 2 effect is fair, and the potential for an extra card here is great. We've seen a fair amount of hype for Even Pirate Rogue after the reveal of Sharkfin Fan and Cannon Barrage, but maybe a normal Pirate Rogue will be better thanks to this draw tool and some classic odd pirates like Southsea Deckhand and Southsea Captain.
I feel like this could be used just as a draw for Kingsbane? More reliable draw is always great for that deck as it allows you to take more swings. Great card in general, I look forward to using it... I'm hoping aggro isn't the way for rogues again
Draw two patches's from yr deck
If the pirates gonna be a thing in this exp then this is op
not even a bad turn one play, if you got a 1-drop. Just refills your hand and gives you more options for future turns.
Golakka Crawler meta is back nom nom nom pirates
A tutor for Kingsbane and two pirates to buff it? emm...
I'm just gonna mention that a while back I experimented with aggro-pirate-Kingsbane Rogue (considering Kingsbane can become a better Arcanite Reaper with just 2 deadly Poisons and you can easily fetch it from the deck.
Draw was one of the biggest issues. This basically eliminates all problems with that and since you can easily run Cannon Barrage as well running Preparation isn't so bad either.
I really hope I'm wrong though, because we don't need better Pirate Warrior.
This in my opinion maybe is even better than Myra's Unstable Element for odd rogue. It doesn't burn your deck and gave you 2 pirates and a weapon which is good. But is it good enough? To be honest I don't think that for example odd rogue (and lets say that pirate rogue will be based on similar archetype) really care so much for draw, as for killing the opponent, before he actually get enough mana, to respond with something. For example if you have Unstalble Element in you hand from the start this is -card. This is actually taking the 3 mana slot (or for combo more) and you will be unable to put some more useful card, which will gave you tempo. Draw is needed thing, but it is slow, for agro decks. It may see play in some other type of pirate rogue, but at least based on current odd rogue I have my doubts that it needs it, more than whatever minion he can put for the same mana.
TL;DR;
In Arena if there are more pirates and you can take full value out of it, it will be good card. For ranked, it is good card, but imo for midrange rogues with pirates (not agro), which we don't have right now.
Odd Rogue might be able to use it if you ever need a weapon, but part of what Odd Rogue does is have a weapon you don't need to replace because it's good enough, so it makes this basically 3 mana draw 2 and in today's meta Arcane Intellect is too slow. That's the reason I think midrange rogue might work (also pirates revealed so far are even, as is Cannon Barrage).
But I already like the name! Don't change it pls.
and here you have your next nerfed card
