Yong Woo Leaves Blizzard - Joins Ben Brode at Second Dinner
Yong Woo, Hearthstone's Production Director, has left the company. He joins Ben Brode and Hamilton Chu at the new Second Dinner game studio.
Another two Hearthstone employees quit in recent time, Michael Schweitzer and Jomaro Kindred, who are also at the studio. There are now five ex-Hearthstone team members working at Second Dinner.
Quote from Yong WooAfter 9 epic years at Blizzard, I am embarking on a new adventure. Thank you for your love and support over the years. I'm super excited to join @seconddinner to build something new & amazing together!
Quote from Second DinnerThe team is growing! Say hi to our newest teammates!

I want to see someone replace Ben Brode. The Boomsday presentation has been sh*te, and all of their presentations will never be the same without him.
I hear they are working on No Man's Sky 2 the Card Game with over 21 quintillion randomly generated cards.
"We're actually making real game now" ... I wander ...
WC4 confirmed (JK, but still ...)
I've been playing Blizzard games since WarCraft 2. Big names have been leaving for other opportunities since at least then, and new people who would later become big names have been joining. Always doom and gloom, always speculation. Also always people accusing Blizzard of being greedy or incompetent. Nothing new.
We're actually making real games now :O
Mike Schweizer, the guy that will probably do 90% of coding that makes the game, has smallest setup and lousiest chair. As a fellow developer/programmer I can relate to this. BIG PROPS to him!!!
When the game is released dont ask why is there a bug in this scenario or that.... give this guy good chair or w/e he needs on time :D
Still thinks there's a very small percentage that he is talking about someone else :P
Blizzard is leaking talants... Very curious to know what second dinner would do...
People have no idea what they are talking about and are easily jumping into conclusions. You can see a wide variety of stupid commments from Brode and others leaving because they couldnt stand rng to them leaving because they were responsible to unbalanced game and rng. An unknown part of the community will be always salty no matter what decks will get changed or nerfed or no matter of the state of the game. Its ridiculous. If you don't like this game then leave it and try other online card games. I will wait for you to come back after sudden realisation how good this game actually is compared to others.
Now on topic. Im really interested in results tha Second Dinner will bring to us. Definitelly looking forward to their content and creations!)
EDIT:Grammar
Good luck to them, I am interested to see what they produce. I’m very surprised that Blizzard didn’t have them under a non-compete clause though, it’s very common in the tech industry.
Non-compete clauses are unenforceable in California under California state law.
Didn’t know that, thanks! :)
*grabs popcorn and watches discussion of people defending and attacking people about game developers and something pertaining to company greed and how the game is clown fiesta*
i dont care what these guy do or why they left.
Its how life works, you change jobs when you are not happy anymore or got a better job offer or etc.

Hmmm . . .
I don't have any particular preference as to whether or not you are standing, sitting, or rolling on the floor - but no one on the Second Dinner team designed cards for the game . . . BB last worked on initial design during LoE, and final design during Naxx. Hamilton and Yong were entirely involved in the business end of managing the HS team - though I suppose Hamilton could be criticized for writing OP fluff . . . his only input into the cards was writing flavour text. Jomaro was a concept artist for the HS team. Since you have no idea what a Game Director, Lead Designer, Senior Producer, or Concept Artist does - Google can help you out . . . if nothing else, you can at least pretend to be angry at the right people the next time you shit-post about the game.
FWIW - if you spend a couple minutes on the Googles, you'll quickly appreciate that most of the folks involved in making a game aren't involved in designing it. Currently, that sentence might hurt your head, and seem kind of paradoxical, but the path to enlightenment is at your fingertips. Good luck on your journey . . .
I'm looking forward to a new card game other than hearthstone.
Play eternal, more like magic the gathering than any other card game and was designed by several magic pro players such as LSV.
Wow. Man, your legs must be sore... from jumping to conclusions like that.
What evidence do you have that these guys have "big egos"? All I see are some people that want to try out something different with their lives.
