We all can say this card has a good effect and body. There's no worries about it.
Question is; Can Shaman be a good class or has a meta deck again to be play with it ...
This card is busted in elemental shaman with the random shaman spells that you generate from Hagatha the Witch , so much card draw.
Well I'm not sure if it's busted, but it has the potential to be good.
The following is assuming that you have already played Hagatha:
I would like to point out that out of the 26 shaman spells that we know to be in the witchwood standard, 19 of them cost 3 or less, so 73% of the time you can bare minimum look at this card as 10 mana for 4/8 with "battlecry: cast a random shaman spell, you DO choose the targets, then draw a minion from your deck."
Now even by itself that's not bad, but also consider that of those 19 spells, 6 cost 2 mana, 5 cost 1 mana, and 2 cost 0 mana. So there's a decent chance of getting even more value off of this guy the turn he comes in.
Now even when we consider that last 30% of the time when you don't get immediate value, ie you get one of the 7 spells that cost 4 or more, we've got Hex, which is premium removal, Volcano which may not be premium but is pretty solid, and the spellstone, which may not be amazing but if your bogshaper survives (which it is pretty likely to do at 8 health, especially if the first spell you generate is something like Ancestral Spirit), you can REALLY start upping the value. Not saying that's an ideal scenario, but as far as playing the RNG you're dealt it's not bad.
Now looking at the card WITHOUT Hagatha:
If you play this guy before Hagatha, or in a deck without Hagatha altogether, then the only way to generate value the turn it comes in is with spells you'd actually want to put in your deck that cost 3 or less. These MIGHT include Earth Shock, Crushing Hand, Unstable Evolution, Healing Rain, Feral Spirit, Lightning Storm or Far Sight. Everything else is too circumstantial to make part of the 30.
Now obviously no deck is going to run all of those but I think EVERY self respecting shaman deck is going to run at least a 1-of of Unstable Evolution. Now if you can manage to keep at LEAST a totem up on turn 10 (and let's be fair here you've probably got at least 1 minion if ONLY a totem), then the worst case is that for the price of 2 cards this reads as "10 mana for a 4/8, summon a random 4-drop, draw 3 minions from your deck." That's still pretty solid.
I'm not saying this card is amazing, but I think it's a lot stronger than it looks at face value.
So it looks like we now have all the pieces for a viable Control Shaman deck (the idea is to maximize the Hagatha synergy, then throw a ton of cheap minions in (that leave enough mana for your spells, and preferably generate more minions), and a couple Unstable Evolution to jump-start the chain):
bro too early to be theorycrafting
Played for 5 mana after Fire Plume Harbinger will be great.
Auctioneer didn't see play in Shaman before, so why would a worse Auctioneer so play?
Auctioneer cost 1 less mana making it easier to combo, can chain spells as you draw them (which is very important) and still draws you cards if your spell deck runs out of minions.
Why would I pay 1 mana more for 4 health while losing the ability to chain spells and having it not draw any more cards if my deck happens to run out of minions...??
because shaman has much better minions it would actually want to draw than it does spells, and auctioneer can't chain you into good minions, while this with an Unstable Evolution or Hagatha CAN chain you into minion, which again, are much better in your 30 than shaman spells are.
In other words, you would want to run it because you don't have to dilute your deck with shaman spells, you can just run minions and let the value generate itself with 1 or 2 cards, rather than force synergy with half of your deck.
1 extra mana for 4 extra health and it's an elemental (which means it can be cost reduced by Fire Plume Harbinger and it can trigger other elemental effects including turn 8 Kalimos ). Plus shaman gained some ways to generate spells which matters for this card's viability.
Everyone's being very quick to either dismiss new reveals as unplayable or scream into the ether they are so OP they'll ruin HS forever. Believe it or not there is a middle ground.
Seems really good, but if you play this Hagatha deck in an elemental way (which seems logical to me), would you play this over Blazecaller ? Maybe you play both.
Wait did they add the elemental tag to Fen Creeper?
Miracle freeze giant shaman dustwood lol
It's a more expensive Gadgetzan Auctioneer, in a class where it was never played whatsoever, with an arguably worse effect.
One of the biggest strengths of Auctioneer is the fact that you can chain cast spells, as you draw them. This doesn't allow that.
Is +4 Health and the Elemental tag enough to make up for this? I don't think so personally.
You are right but miracle is not A place for shaman and shaman needs card draws so much. Auctioneer is too weak to stand on play + there is fire plume's hearth that you can decrease its cost and as we can see shaman has a lot of random spells in this expansion and also this has elemental tag. I think this will see some play ofc if shaman will see play. This card makes trash cards usable, the spells which gives your totems +2 for example and which heals your minion and gives it taunt. Those are 0-cost spells and we all know they will mostly br generated by random spell generators.
