I am a little baffled to where Blizzard is going with Druid. The three even cost cards (Witchwood Apple, Wispering Woods, Forest Guide) all seem weak, even if you account for their synergy. There's nothing to indicate a survival of token-based strategies without Mark of the Lotus and Mark of Y'shaarj. And they don't synergize with Genn Greymane in any obvious way, either.
The two odd cost cards actually work against one another, as the bonus of Gloom Stag is a battlecry, which you wouldn't get with Witching Hour. For the same reason, Gloom Stag is poor with Hadronax, the one of best cards currently available for Witching Hour (and the best odd one). And while in some ways Quest Druid seems to mesh with Odd-Druid, in other ways it does not (no UI is a big hit, and not a lot of great 5+ attack beasts to support both the quest and Witching Hour).
Of course there are still both legendaries and a few more lesser cards to go, but right now, I can't see any new deck that appears remotely viable with Druid. Since Jade is totally dead and token is taking a huge hit, the best deck standing at this point is some variant on the recruit-based decks that have been floating around tier three since the release of Kobolds. Or perhaps some Charged Devilsaur gimmicks? Is being able to summon a 3 mana 7/7 charge late in the game (or even two at once) anywhere near enough to build around? I am not seeing it.
the joke
your head.
He did say that it was probably a troll... Just saying
Witchwood Grizzlymay be my favourite card yet.
So powerful and when you play against aggro, they have to have this card in mind (unless you run into Spellbreaker, that would suck)
No, i assure you aggro will be better playing what they really want to play and only keep a removal effect in their hand for this card, than holding their cards in hand fearing for this card. Really you think that 1 health less on a taunt is more important than playing a full minion ?
Maybe handsize druid has been onto something the entire time! They perfectly play around Witchwood Grizzly
I love Witchwood Grizzly, such a powerful tool against aggro.
I dont think a turn 5 card is that good against aggro
Could use that new priest legendary that casts inner fire on all cards in deck. It'd be a turn 6/7 (6 if you have coin) play though, and you'd have to top deck it. Or, just inner fire it. 6 mana, 12/12. Or you could go crazy and double its health, even twice, and do an OTK style turn. 10 mana 48/48
a 12 life taunt? that's insane.
@Xeyedeaa Again somebody saying Spreading Plague is 7/35.... This card is a Blizzard-like : deals 1(or 2) dmg on enemy's board and block enemy minions for a turn (or a turn and a half). A 7/35 taunt, if an aggro deck doesnt have single target destroy effect, he has straight up lost, which is not the case when you play spreading plague.
You cannot compare multiple minions to one. This is only true on some cases. You have to account for being the attacker or not, attacking face or minions. Your statement is only true when you attack face and that your opponent only has single target direct damage, and no minions, wow surely often the case considering you need your opponent to have minions...
Zombeast!
It has both a keyword and text, do I doubt it'll be available for Zombeast (like King of Beasts isn't available).
Doubt they'll keep adding to DK Zombeast list forever....
They reportedly add Beasts to DK Rexxar this expansion. I don't tkink it's that hard to code.
it's obviously not hard lol, the matter is if they want to or not only. If they want to, they have to always make sure the pool stays balanced and thus creates card-design restrictions for beasts. They could certainly decide to not add beast on one exp in rexxar's pool if they'd rather make a certain card that would be OP with him.
oh its a neutral interesting
Witching Hour could support quest Druids with cards like Charged Devilsaur or the quest reward itself.
(looking also forward to see the golden version)
