That 'river croc' argument is so dumb. People said the same thing about Arcanologist, and now it's one of the most complained about cards in the mage deck behind Ice Block.
The problem with this card is the fact that in hearthstone there is not a "graveyard" so there is literally no way to interract with the card you burned. If discarding worked like removing from play in yu gi oh it would be very cool for the warlock to be the only one who can interact with these cards. Right now this card is just a boring burn a random card from your opponents deck.
I think tutorial is just imprecise in its wording to make it easier for new players to grasp. Cards like Tracking has proved years ago that deck order is there.
Best card i seen in this expansion. I'm not playing warlock usually but i will make a deck just for try this.
I like this card a lot.
Go on guys, downvote me because i like it!
All kinds of salt included.
Gnomeferatu :)
See? I knew the real name of this card :)
Sorry but this great ; best card revealed so far
Removing a card from top and bottom of your deck is not the same thing. Are you guys insane?
Removing top: If you remove a low impact card the effect is almost neutral, If you remove a high impact card the value is insane.
Removing bottom: If it is high or low impact doesn't matter, game probably won't last that long so almost neutral both ways.
Edit: Also Control Warlock severely lacks 2 drop which will be filled by this card for sure. Of course we have to see maybe another great 2-drop will be released which will compete with this one.
Edit2: I was wrong. Thanks for mimighster explaining. I think the reason why people are arguing about this card is not everyone knows how the card draw mechanic works (including me). It appears that in every draw your remaining deck is randomized which means that top and bottom is equal. I thought it was determined by start and never changed.
Let's say Gnomeferatu removes Tirion from the top of the deck. How is this any different than if Tirion had been on the bottom of the deck and you never drew it that game? There is no difference.
Gnomeferatu has no impact in the match unless you draw every card in your deck.
Because when it is on bottom of the deck, it won't see play anyway in most games. How many games you played have gone to fatique?
Seeing as there's no way to affect deck order, discarding a card from your deck is immaterial so long as the game doesn't reach fatigue. Whether that card was discarded, or whether you simply never drew it, doesn't matter.
It's like fel reaver or tracking in that way. If the game doesn't reach fatigue, the cards fel reaver burned don't matter, because you could think of those cards as being on the bottom of the deck. Same as the card that this card discards.
Draw, as far as we know, in hearthstone, has no top or bottom cards. The deck has no set order. It's a bunch of cards and the draws are random. Since no card allows you to look at your deck order(tracking actually being 3 random cards), or reverse your draws to see if they are the same order, and The description in the tutorial implies what I said. Your points make sense, but you're not properly informed.
Actually, there is a slight impact in the upcoming expansion.
KoTFT is leaning towards the "if your deck has XXX, do XXX". Take Corpsetaker and Howling Commanderas examples.
It may not get an impact in every single game, but it definitely could disrupt the game plan of your opponent.
Other than that, when you destroy the deck, it's like the joust mechanic that you could get to guess what your opponent is playing.
I think it's a good card.
Please listen to this man and learn some statistics for God's sake
It will count for the player doing the discarding if its the case
If you force him to discard a card, it is still his card.
