Blizzard Rethinking Wild Pack Purchases
Ben Brode was out on reddit this evening and stated the Hearthstone team has been thinking about allowing pack purchases for Wild content due to their additional focus on the gamemode this year. Unfortunately, they aren't ready to say anything else right now.
The thread, "Why can't we buy Wild packs?" has been a question since Standard became a thing back in 2016. Unfortunately, nothing has been said about Adventure content but we can only hope that they too returns should packs for Goblins vs Gnomes and The Grand Tournament make a comeback to the shop.
Quote from Ben BrodeWe've been rethinking our stance on this with our additional focus on Wild this year. Will update you as we have more concrete information.
Its great that they are thinking of wild pack purchases (more options for customers is a good thing), but they also need to rethink standard pack purchases and how to make them more affordable for both free-to-play and paying customers.
why would they need and more so want to make the game more affordable?
The people who vote "dont care" arent voting because they dont care about the issue at hand. They are voting because they dont mind whether wild cards are made available for purchase or not. They are indifferent to it. They still care enough about the issue to vote. they just dont care what the outcome is. And having that option is very relevant to see what percentage of people feel like they will be unaffected by the change.
So here is my question to you: Who are you trying to be cool for?
bahaha i love that gif
They should do the original idea of making Wild cards half the dust to craft or even more discounted then that even.
removing wild adventures from the shop is good for free to play players though. being able to craft mad scientist, belcher, etc was much more affordable for my f2p friends than it would have been to save uo gold for the full adventure.
I would like to see both options personally buy the adventure outright cheaper and be able to enjoy or have the option to craft the few cards you want from the set if you don't care about playing the missions.
I would HAPPILY pay full price for Wild Packs, and Wild Adventures. I don't need no discounts. Hearthstone offers great value, and I'm happy to pay for it.
And proud of it
To all the genius out there they can't make wild packs cheaper because you could just buy those to get dust and craft what you want since the chance of getting the legends and epics you want to make by buying standard packs is low.
They'd need to make a new dust currency only for wild cards (which I think they should)
I feel like buying old Adventures is the best thing tho since you can DE them for guaranteed dust if you don't want to play those. And it's good PVE content for new players. They can start playing just to save gold for adventures in PVE, dust them and then slowly get to the point they feel confident to play PVP and just make a good new standard deck right off the bat
Wild dust.
You could convert Standard dust into Wild dust, but NOT the other way around.
And there your exploit is gone. ;)
Yes, It's pretty much what I wanted.
Like "sands of time" If you DE wild cards you can craft other wild cards with a 1 to 1 ratio but not the other way around maybe
I'm on board with this. I would love to finally play Naxxramas, and was unable to because I joined last summer.
I never got the chance to get that adventure either, it will definitely be easier but I would really also love to have those cards be available to me
Possibility to get golden Mimiron's Head? Not bad!
I had one I got from a pack but I d/e'd for a Archmage Antonidas.
The very next pack I got from a Tavern Brawl had Archmage Antonidas inside.

Moral of the story: Never dust golden
*raises hand*
I would like this.
