Blizzard Rethinking Wild Pack Purchases
Ben Brode was out on reddit this evening and stated the Hearthstone team has been thinking about allowing pack purchases for Wild content due to their additional focus on the gamemode this year. Unfortunately, they aren't ready to say anything else right now.
The thread, "Why can't we buy Wild packs?" has been a question since Standard became a thing back in 2016. Unfortunately, nothing has been said about Adventure content but we can only hope that they too returns should packs for Goblins vs Gnomes and The Grand Tournament make a comeback to the shop.
Quote from Ben BrodeWe've been rethinking our stance on this with our additional focus on Wild this year. Will update you as we have more concrete information.
But will it get half the dust if dusted? Else it would be a cheap way to get dust
I was thinking the same thing.
i only play wild so this is amazing idea
I don't care that much about packs (got 1 TGT saved) but definitely want to buy Naxxramas!
Blizzard RETHINKING? PogChamp holy shit what news have we just received now PogChamp
"Wild is money, friend!"
Blizzard rethinking about getting more money?Maybe I'm missing something critical here..
Wild is definitely not dying, and the only thing that is happening is that it is growing. The longer we come from the start of Wild there will be more of only Wild legal cards, thus making Wild more popular.
I'm also hoping for something like a collection completor or a 'buy all wild legendaries' option in the price range of an adventure or something, this can be split in years or themes ofcourse. I want to complete my collection and I am very far away, it would be nice to get some possibility to just complete wild card collections. You are missing 50 cards from GvG, this is the price to get it complete, different prices on legendaries, epics etc.. This gives newer players a option to buy a wild set and older players an option to complete a wild set or maybe spent some money on the lower rares and epics you won't craft but want in your collection.
Old packs in trade it's pretty cool for guys who wanna complete theyr collections . Because buy pack's with all cards what you have to disenchanting it and craft for big price wild cards it's unbelieveble . When you will buy wild packs you'll have a chance catch cards what you need and save a dust . It's cool .
Also need add an alert when you buy a pack - " you can play a cards from this pack only in wild mode" ( or another ) . It's specialy for novice's that would not have a wrong buy .
I don't really care much for reintroducing packs but I fully support the reintroduction of adventures for all those players who have missed them.
I think everybody should calm down and stop presenting what suits his/her own condition as the obvious solution. This is definitely a hard decision for them to make. There are new players that are practically banned from playing a big fun part of the game, and there are those who either played long enough to complete their collections or payed crazy amount of dust to craft those sets' cards and want to be different from others since they spent much more time/money in the game than the rest. Nobody is wrong here, so...
Solution: 100 free packs from each set for everyone!!! \m/
As someone who has been around since Open Beta and decided to keep my full playset of all the sets (with the exception of Un'Goro for non-Hearthstone related reasons), I see no problem with letting others who haven't been around as long as I have be able to purchase packs of the Wild sets, and also buy the Wild adventures.
The newer players need better catch up mechanisms.
If they do this, the wild card packs should be cheaper than normal ones because we have a lot of work in standard already. If they don't low the price in wild card packs they will look really greedy. Trying to make money with old sets.
I don't really see the issue here. All of the cards are craftable with dust, and most cards are unplayable in wild, so there's no point crafting bad ones. The issue that you have to pay full dust cost is somewhat countered by the fact that you can ignore a whole lot of cards. 280 dust for a couple of shredders and belchers is not breaking the bank for anyone.
The only people the current system screws over are recent players who decide they want to own a complete collection, as it would indeed be super expensive to have to go craft a full GVG set.
If we do bring back wild packs, why not remove all of the elitist collection nonsense, and make all card backs obtainable along with the golden ETC and gelbin. People will sure pay money for those too
