Blizzard Rethinking Wild Pack Purchases
Ben Brode was out on reddit this evening and stated the Hearthstone team has been thinking about allowing pack purchases for Wild content due to their additional focus on the gamemode this year. Unfortunately, they aren't ready to say anything else right now.
The thread, "Why can't we buy Wild packs?" has been a question since Standard became a thing back in 2016. Unfortunately, nothing has been said about Adventure content but we can only hope that they too returns should packs for Goblins vs Gnomes and The Grand Tournament make a comeback to the shop.
Quote from Ben BrodeWe've been rethinking our stance on this with our additional focus on Wild this year. Will update you as we have more concrete information.
I think it would be difficult to adjust dust value on only those cards that was opened from the new packs. If you were to lower dust value for already-owned cards, then there will be a shitstorm like never before.
you need ~1800 packs to have all wild and standard card good luck
Hearthstone seriously needs Pricing Manager.
Buy? No! Get for free for quests and events? Yes!
Packs: YES i do. Opening packs coolest thing in HS.
Adventures - way spend real money for HS. Get MVP cards and 5-7 legendaries for price of 15 packs? YES! You'll NEVER get same value openning packs. (Legendary drops every 25-35 packs, You must buy 150+packs - 10 times more money and no garanty you get cards you want.)
Adventure costs 2800gold (4 wings). Obviosly better buy 28 packs for gold than money. (look above 28 vs 15 ).
It is, in fact, 20 on average. And never less often than 1 in 40.
I got one legendary from 34 packs ( [card]Hemet, Jungle Hunter[/card])
Honestly, what is there to think about here? You have a product and game mode available in the gamr but you won't sell it? This isn't like a situation where cards can no longer be played. Just plain stupidity on Blizzard's behalf. Amazing that a company is more willing to raise the prices of existing products in a bunch of regions, but making that money from selling more content is off the table. Asshats these guys.
Instead of that can we have a marketplace to bid or sell/buy our old (wild only) cards???
Or only trade cards instead of gold. ex I give my legendary Ragnaros for 6 any epic cards. Or maybe Ragnaros for Sylvana etc.
I miss Magic the gathering trades :}
also other communities like steam has so good marketplaces for game items...
What happend if you will able to get a lot of money again with only "switch" few settings on Server side? Will you try to invent/test/implement/code your "trade" system ? Or just set GvG Naxx visible in shop again ?
Why should digital content which literally can't run out of print not be purchasable anymore? That doesn't make sense to me. Some players enjoy the Wild format - including new players. Let them buy the packs and Adventures.
I'm sure there will be a big fucking sign "WILD ONLY"
Although I am a F2P Wild player I strongly disagree with you. Let everybody have the same fun in the game, and let them buy the packs and adventures instead of having them buy packs which they don't neceseraliy want to buy, and need to craft out of those cards Wild cards which obviously is worse than just buying Wild packs.
Not quite sure what you're talking about. A new player can get every wild card if they have the money. They could buy a crap ton of standard packs, dust all dups, and craft wild cards. You'd have no idea if the player you're up against had been playing 3 months or 3 years (based on thier card collection) .......
Now card backs, that's a whole different animal......................
If you make all wild cards into 1 you'd have even less of a chance of getting the card you want cause instead of 240-ish cards you have 700+ even getting specific rare would drop significantly so you'd just end up crafting it with dust .... you can craft them even now so -__- not big of a difference
that makes wild packs cheaper , i doubt blizzard will do that , if they bring the old cards back they will guarantee not make them any cheaper
no pls dont, just lower the dust costs
Yes, give me the sludge-belcher please.
