Kalimos
We've got a great surprise to share with you today, it's our very own card reveal for the Journey of Un'Goro expansion! Say hello to the Primal Lord, Kalimos, the Shaman Legendary minion for the set.
Kalimos is a master of the building blocks of all life on Azeroth, or as they are more commonly referred to as, the Elements. Shamanic cultures have long sought to live in harmony with, or assert dominion over, these forces, and Kalimos is a prime example of these traits.
Will you join Kalimos in a journey through the Elemental Invocations?
By the way, you do get to choose which one casts.
Air
The Element of Cunning and Madness
Earth
The Element of Stability and Stubbornness
Water
The Element of Tranquility and Indecisiveness
Fire
The Element of Passion and Fury
not nearly as strong as predicted in my opinion, first you need to have and play an Elemental(Deck) and your enemy can screw up the Turn you want to play him if he smells it, then you need another elemental and another Turn or you just play into the prepared Board and play an 8 7/7.
Still a cool Card, Wont see any play aslong Elementals don´t become a strong Tribe, such as Dragon Priest as example and it rly don´t seem like it yet.
You are aptly named, FalsE_PR0pheT.
pretty cool, but without clarification on this effect this cards viability is unknown
Holy shit
The versatility of the card makes for almost no counterplay. This will however become Shaman's highest cost card (in competition with Al Akir), perhaps this is Blizzard suggesting that Shaman will be playing mid/ later game style? Pretty sure a face shaman would still love that Fire Invocation. Really how are you supposed to counter this
For the same amount of mana, how do you counter double fireball ?
Your chances of curving into double fireball are negligble. Shaman decks will be able to comfortably curve into Kalimos's battlecry in at least 30% of their games.
Tell that to a freeze mage
I love the direction blizzard is going with shaman this expansion. As long as there aren't any Totem Golem / Tunnel Trogg style cards, things are going to be fine.
At least in standard, no card is going to be in a deck with Totem Golem and Tunnel Trog if thats what worries you.
We need to see the entire set and how the meta forms before accusing this of being "broken", but it's pretty fucking powerful looking isn't it.
And we were hoping the Shamanstone would end. But we were all of us decieved. For another PowerCreep was made. In the dark lands of Blizzard, in the office of Hearthstone Development, the dark lord Ben Brodehoof, forged in secret, a Powercreep, to control all others. And within this Powercreep, he put all his cruelty, his HAHAHA, and his will that Shaman will dominate the meta.
First craft :P
If the earth tokens look like the art on the card, they're way more adorable than that fire baby
They need to hurry up and show an ultra-kawaii non-token! Simply unacceptable having all these cute tokens.
OVERLOAD.... what does this means now with shaman card anyway..Now you got to get the big stuff with out it ! Neptulon is far far away...
Guys don't you think that mage and shaman should switch Ungo'ro legendaries ? That would be better in my opinion .
This is like a Swiss-Army-Knife card. It is so flexible it's literally usable in every situation. Need board? Check. Need clear? Check. Need burn? Check. Need heal? Check. Cards with this design are terrible because they open up no counterplay and they're basically auto-includes in every future deck from this class.
Now it waits to be seen if we will experience another year of Shamanstone in Standard. Now that Tunnel Trogg and Totem Golem are rotating out, perhaps Shaman needs these powerful comeback cards on turns 6, 7 and 8, but there is still Wild, and this guy is not going to be fun to play against.
Well someone has read too much forums and thinks, just like most people, that he is smarter than lead designers with hundreds of hours of testing. Why would you even want an 8 mana legendary with no strictly OP upside to have counterplay? The only reason that comes to mind is that you read its cool to hate cards without counterplay somewhere.
No counterplay can be a bad thing. Imagine bearthstone with no hard removal. Then a card like deathwing would have no counterplay, and therefore you couldn't really do anything about. When there is a card that you can play that is impossible to counter, like this or the warlock quest card, then it begins to downgrade the quality of this game.
