HS China: Top Arena Players to be Rewarded
Blizzard in China is rewarding Arena players through a special leaderboard. It is not known how long this leaderboard will run for as it seems to be heavily tied to rewarding BlizzCon tickets, but here's what we've figured out.
- Top Arena players in China will be presented on a weekly leaderboard!
- Each month, the top players will be given Battle.net Points.
- The very best players can receive a ticket to BlizzCon.
- The leaderboard looks at how many times players get 12 wins in each time period.
This will definitely add some competition to the arena over in China!
Battle.net Points can be spent on Hearthstone card packs, name changes, and also on other rewards for other Blizzard titles which include WoWTCG Loot for WoW, Gold in Diablo III, and Heroes Stimpacks. A list of Battle.net rewards is available on the Battle.net China Rewards Page.
Is this something you'd like to see Blizzard implement for the Arena on this side of the world?

Quote from BlizzardBLIZZARD ENTERTAINMENT AND FACEBOOK TEAM UP TO CONNECT FRIENDS AND EMPOWER STREAMERSBlizzard games are best when played with friends, and new Facebook integration features such as Facebook Login and Live API will make that easier than ever
Facebook’s collaboration with Blizzard reflects the global social network’s commitment to supporting world-class entertainment experiences
IRVINE, Calif.—June 6, 2016—Blizzard Entertainment and Facebook are working together to provide gamers around the world with new ways to connect and share their gaming experiences, while bringing more high-demand entertainment content to Facebook’s global platform.
The companies announced today that a major step in their ongoing collaboration will begin later this month with the integration of Facebook Login in Blizzard’s PC games. This will enable players to sign up for and log in to games such as World of Warcraft®, Heroes of the Storm®, Hearthstone®, Diablo® III, StarCraft® II, and Blizzard’s most recent blockbuster release,Overwatch®, using their Facebook accounts.
Adding Facebook Login will pave the way for new social functionality in Blizzard games while highlighting Facebook’s capabilities as a platform for sharing, viewing, and discussing AAA game content. As an example, Blizzard is in the process of incorporating Facebook’s Live API in order to create its own “Go Live” streaming functionality for its games. When this functionality is implemented, players will for the first time be able to livestream their Blizzard-gaming sessions directly to their Facebook timelines, and friends will be able to subscribe and be notified when new streams are available.
“Blizzard games are best when played with friends, so it’s important to us to provide our players with features and services that make it easy and fun to share their experiences with each other,” said Gio Hunt, executive vice president of corporate operations at Blizzard Entertainment. “We’re working closely with Facebook on this integration for Overwatch, as well as our other games, and we look forward to sharing further details on our plans as development progresses.”
As part of the collaboration between the two companies, Blizzard recently hosted multiple livestreams via Facebook. The first series of streams centered on Heroes of the Dorm™, Blizzard’s collegiate tournament featuring its popular team-brawler Heroes of the Storm. Last week, Blizzard hosted a livestreamed launch event for Overwatch on Facebook.
“Blizzard has a passionate community of players, and an incredible track record for launching innovative and high-quality gaming experiences,” said Leo Olebe, global games partnerships director at Facebook. “Our collaboration on Overwatch demonstrates Facebook’s commitment to partnering with AAA game companies, while further empowering Blizzard gamers to connect and share the content they're most passionate about with the friends they play with around the world.”
In preparation for the Overwatch launch, Facebook worked with Blizzard on a comprehensive mix of Facebook and Instagram marketing solutions—including Carousel ads, Canvas, and Instagram Marquee. Using the platforms’ powerful targeting capabilities, Facebook helped Blizzard present the game to a broad set of gaming and entertainment audiences within Facebook’s and Instagram's global audiences of 1.65 billion and 400 million people respectively. On Facebook, more than 650 million people play games connected to Facebook every month across web, mobile, and console.
Overwatch is a dynamic team-based shooter in which players choose from a cast of 21 diverse heroes—each with their own unique arsenal of extraordinary weapons and incredible abilities—and battle to complete objectives in various locations across a near-future earth. The game is available now for PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One, and Windows® PC in English, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, German, European Spanish, French, Italian, Polish, Russian, Korean (PC only), Japanese (PC and PS4™ system only), and traditional and simplified Chinese (PC only). The game has been rated T for Teen by the ESRB.

Kripp's Guide to Old Gods Non-Legendary Crafting
Our beloved Kripparrian has put together a video guide to discuss which non-legendary cards are worth crafting during the current expansion / meta. It's a great watch if you're interested in a breakdown of how current decks are shaped!
Which non-legendary cards do you feel are a must craft during Old Gods? Tell us in the comments!
I'm curious will win this one.
Make it the highest average wins of 10 successive arena runs. Would be fairer. Would also mean everyone would have a score of more than zero.
F**** OFF with the facebook login integration ... are u serious? Unil this point i was defending Bli$$ard for any money-making steps they made, cause someone has to pay for the upkeep of a free game, but this is too much. Dirty sellouts, blah!
Don't get me wrong, Blizzard should give out more rewards, but arena payouts are top heavy anyway. The difference between 7 wins and 6 wins is massive. And going 12 wins, you already get lots of gold and packs, so this doesn't really affect the extra rewards Blizzard is giving out. It's a good idea to give out more rewards to get people to play more arena. But constructed lacks rewards. Once a month, constructed gets a golden epic, and some commons meanwhile, you can get that in 2-3 arena runs. Constructed only gets 10 gold per 3 wins, which made sense back in beta when there wasn't a daily gold cap to stop bots from benefiting, but since there's a daily cap, wins should give more gold or end of season rewards should give gold too.
An arena leader board of most 12 wins means an even higher frequency of Mage, Rogue, and Paladin opponents, which will be terrible.
"Alright, rogue, I guess" "Haven't picked mage in a while, let's go mage "Paladin isn't that good, but alright"
I would prefer a leader board of highest arena score, like the 100 in 10 challenge, but you play once with each class and the tenth run is a class of your choice.

Yeah, maybe Blizzard should instead make some much-needed improvements to their Spectator Mode. That way, tournaments being played on platforms that people actually watch won't suffer from floating cards or giant minions.
It's dumb rule for competition. Just 12 win count is basically no need skill, play a lot to win. Instead, recent 20 run best score that is better.
actually I dislike this arena reward system.
The top 50 arena players earn a shitload of gold with playing arena anyways, so buying HS packs is not essential, so they don't give away HS rewards, they give away rewards for their other games/blizzcon tickets. Top constructed players get CASH, why wouldn't they just do that?
I may sound greedy (which is bullshit as I won't get any of these rewards anyways), but imo if you are in the top 50 of 12 win runs, you won't have much time to play other games and the rewards will be nearly useless for you.
The reason they get cash for winning tournaments is because blizzard gets money off the stream so it's just a way to convince people to play in the tournament. This isn't true for arena because they don't have a big tournament community and probably never will. I think their rewards are great they are giving you credits that are not limited to just packs, you can use it for adventures or their other games, or the real world merch(i think don't really care to check).
Yesyesyes! Arena ladder is the best thing they could do regarding game modes imo. :)
I'd love to see some kind of arena ladder in all regions. However, it's not only the quantity of 12 win runs that matter, but the overall quality of runs should weight in, too.
These facebook and arena things looks weird...
I see it coming: Connect with Facebook and earn a new Hearthstone Hero as a reward. Tyrande or Maiev, one of those is coming.
I would actually be quite fine with that. Never gonna complain about free heroes.
I would do it.. as long as I could then remove the connection afterwards.
So. Sick. Of. Facebook. Integrations.
I just made a second Facebook account that's under a fake name and secondary e-mail. Takes all of 5 minutes to make a new e-mail and fake facebook account.
Who the hell actually streams on Facebook? Who even knew that was even a thing?
The main thing I don't like about this, is that is encourages an unhealthy about of play. The more arena you play the more chances you have to get 12 wins. There was a reason that the old honor system in WoW was removed.
They could start off with making Arena more accessible... Right now you pay 150 gold entry and you're guaranteed to get at least 1 pack. But why not leave the guaranteed (=100 gold) out and make the entry 50 gold instead?
I never see anyone in my friend list playing Arena, and neither do I because i just don't have the patience to save more gold once I reach 100 gold haha. Which kinda sucks actually since it's pretty cool...
Oh and is it just me or am I the only one who didn't understand shit of what they said in that Arena reward announcement thing?
