Blast from the Past - Card Design Competition
This week's Card Design Competition comes from Zukuu, whose Travelling Merchant was the winner of our "Mano a Mana" competition.
The competition this week requires a trip back to the Warcraft III days as the card name must bear the name of a game element found in WC3 whether that is a unit, hero, building, item, spell, or ability. In addition to that, there's some other competition-specific rules to follow so go read up on it over in the Blast from the Past submission thread!
Face is the Place Winners
Congratulations to the top 3 winners from last week's Face is the Place!
I <3 Eater of Secrets :D
If After time was real, i would play it with vaporize in the same deck :P Way too confusing for your opponent. I can already hear it the thinking, "If it's After Time and i want to do as much face damage as possible i should attack with my biggest minion first. But if it's vaporize i should attack with my smallest minion first".
Oh my fucking god
Hmmmyeaaaah.... I'm prety sure Eternal Sentinel is not a (semi) control card... It's just as good in Aggro decks as control decks. And all good cards with overload are used in Aggro decks as well.
So when bolf attacks face he will kill himself?
my first time in final poll with ralaar fangfire entry :-)
Bolf way too op
As I posted earlier...:
It's hardly way too OP. (Zoo) warlocks would love for this card to be played against them. Free hero power, free Flame Imp, less risk on Spreading Madness, Wrathguard would have no risk, Pit Lord would counter it nicely as well, and not to mention how easily Cho'gall would wreck this card.
Maybe you're right. But it will only practice.
rogue kills it byhero power and attacking it and taking 0 damage, warrior just has to equip a weapon.
Great cards guys. I could definitely use them in a deck.
Bolf would be OP if he restored health rather than preventing the damage, like "whenever the enemy hero takes damage, restore that much health to the enemy hero"
You might as well rephrase it to: While this minion is out in play the enemy hero can't take any damage. Would be the same thing you're describing.
The third one is a really cool idea but man is it broken
Is it? I dont think its even better than overload-cure cards we have now.
If you can keep this card alive it would be pretty awesome. If you'd be able to play Totem Golem, Feral Spirit, and Flamewreathed Faceless, AND a Doomhammer on curve (assuming you coin this card on turn 1) there's not much your opponent can do...
Seeing current meta now, whenever this card would be played your opponent would be required to remove it immediately or be overwhelmed. So even by making him play his removal so early on you can have an advantage.
I don't understand how Bolf makes any damn sense... it's strictly only useful for attacking other minions, and yet the contest is "Face is the Place" ??? What? If you attack your opponent's face with it, it would kill itself and do 0 damage to them. That's pretty bad...
It's an anti-aggro card, kind of like zombie chow. Can also be taunted w/ Argus or Sunfury. And if your opponent has, say, a 4 mana 7/7, then BadBolf is your answer.
The Bolvar is still worse than Flamewreathed Faceless
I love that Alter Time, but the name should have something to do with Kel'Thuzad, as he also ends your turn when he takes too much damage.... unfair ba***rd... :)
