The Secret pool in Standard is small, at 5 secrets, which means you have a 60% chance to get the Secret you want. However, the pool in general is pretty weak with Objection! rotating, which when paired with zero Secret synergy in Standard, means Hidden Objects is dead in the water... for now, until more Secret synergy is printed.
Not feeling Hidden Objects, two mana than one sure you can have a stronger turn three with it but If I really want a secret in my deck I would put the actaul secret in instead of this. However Mage got plenty of discover a spell reduce cost by one or more and for that I see this card as alright choice that can have impact so while I don't think its strong enough to have in my deck from start I see myself picking this in discovers from time to time.
Triplewick Trickster this has potential of clearing small boards and leaving a body on the board not insane but not bad either I would rate it as a pretty good card if thats enough for it to see play that remains to be seen.
If mage had some good secret other than Counterspell, Hidden Objects could have been a staple main card. That's not the case, unless they reveal another good secret (let's be honest, what are the chances)
I miss Objection already.
(I miss Objection like a toothache)
Triplewick Trickster is a tricky one. If each time it deals damage shoots a flame of a different color, it's metadefining. If not, pretty mid. Is probably better than Firework Elemental (It's better, I though Firework costs 4) but is probably not better than Tainted Remnant. The advantage is that you don't *need* to play the card in an Elemental deck, but like why would you play this card in a non-Elemental deck?
I don't know if the idea is that the card reminds you to Flame Juggler or if I just feel nostalgic.
I don't fully understand the different colored flames thing, why would that impact it's meta-relevance?
I'm partially joking. I'm partially sure that I played Twin Tyrant a 15% more that what I should cause one head blast fire and the other Ice. And that's dope. And the art of this has 3 different color candles and throws 3 shoots, so it would be cool if they were each from each color.
It dosn't affects how strong is the card, but yes how good is the card.
Idk if hidden objects will be play in secret mage with like 50% of mage's secrets being dogshit and the rest being broken, is Secret mage allowing RNG? idk
Effigy Azerite Vein Frozen Clone Mana Bind and some others, will be sad to have those
On Wild? No. Secret mage plays a pretty specific set of Secrets and it never wants to pay 3 Mana for them.
Also I feel that the deck lost a lot of popularity recently. Which is fine cause it was a Top Tier Meta Deck since the last 4 years.
Yeah that's what I was thinking
I'm happy to not see it again, boring deck to face
Trickster is boring rng on a (candle) stick.
Hidden objects is really good. Basically bonus 2 copies of the best secret in standard or the best secret you need in a current situation. Being able to get it ready for another turn with leftover mana makes it even easier to use. I'm also very glad Objection is shelved, cause even more copies of it feel like a bad time to go against.
Hidden Objects is insanely good. There are plenty of secrets you'd just run in your deck because of how good they are. With this, you get to discover even more of them at the same cost as a normal secret. With the added bonus of extra Mana flexibility and spellcast synergy. Five stars!
Thankfully for Standard at least Objection! is rotating, so this is slightly less aggravating.
But random 3rd and potential 4th secret of the same one for Mage is kind of busted, especially with such a small Discover pool for them basically guaranteeing that you hit what you want 3 out of 5 times (barring them adding a secret this expansion, but I reckon they would have revealed it with this card as a Secret package reveal).
Objection leaving will let “for the rest of the game” minions go mostly unchecked
Potential for a fireball on a stick , can go face , is pro active elemental. Is ok.
