Wing Welding is a perfect card for EvenLock in Wild, it is their ultimate AoE board clear next to Defile, replacing Soul Rend and all their previous 4-cost AoE
I don't really understand Wing Welding. Obviously, the Soul Barrage combo is strong. You clear the board and deal 5 face damage. Powerful 2 card combo.
I'm actually kinda tickled to see Blizzard throwing in a card that's so experimental and likely bad. I like when they do that, it makes the game feel more experimental and less linear and boring.
But... what is this card for? It limits what expensive cards you can run. Control can't run this. Curses might want this, but Curses have 5 and 6 cost cards. I guess fatigue is possibile. Maybe with Fannotem, and a little discard synergy. But that sounds *weird* to me. And I think generally you want to hold your Crescendos for a big payoff, and the Disciple potentially discards them.
I really have no idea otherwise what this is for as of right now. I want to see more cool discard cards.
Wing welding looks better than shadowflame. I sometimes am unable to play shadowflame on turn 4 because I either don't have any minions or none large enough to clear. It's a great late game asymmetric board clear but not so much on turn 4. Losing your late game wincon is usually a nonissue vs. aggro. I am one of the few Renolocks that still run shadowflame.
Call me old school, but having in mind the inmense play that Power Overwhelming saw back in the day, if you are telling me that for just -1/-1 I could keep the minion. Looks pretty zoolid to me.
Is a Lightning Bolt without Overload that could even help one of your minions with a trade. That's pretty strong in my opinion, for any minion base deck, like Imps, Murlocs or, a more traditional zoo.
Weing Weilding is okay. Board Clear for Warlock is kinda redundant but if fits your deck better than other options, looks good enough.
But you don't get to keep that minion in many cases. If you buff your 2/3 to kill a 4/5, your minion will die at the end of your turn
Losing a health buff usually keeps the minion alive at 1 hp regardless of how much they lose iirc
So... am I the only one who is abhorrently disappointed with the fact it feels like we got a mesh of warlock cards from like 3 different expansions? and only like 2-3 of them are good/interesting? Forge of Wills and Loken, Jailer of Yogg-Saron have no active synergy in this entire set and only works with the big undead/Thaddius warlock and even then they're both absurdly boring and the forge of wills is anti synergistic and Loken as well to a much lesser extent cause you can discover the cheat cards, Imprisoned Horror feels like a bad and incredibly boring addendum to the package we got last expansion and I don't think a more gimmicky Corridor Creeper would work now days Thornveil Tentacle is just a waste of a class card slot that deserves to be a neutral Monstrous Form is just basically a new printing of Power Overwhelming of old and may not even be used in the modern day Wing Welding is just a weird form of like control discard support? meaning it won't see play at all in standard and more than likely won't in wild either Chaotic Consumption is a zoo card which we haven't really gotten zoo since implock in nathria which hooray another good card for implock and finally Disciple of Sargeras is... another control discard card (or just a worse Mischievous Imp which again just doesn't work cause the deck which would appreciate the taunts and can take the down turn to spend the forge mana wouldn't want to randomly discard a spell (though it doesn't specify random so maybe) and Mortal Eradication is a great token tech card ...if only a bunch of 1 health minions happened a lot, feels more good to discover than anything for a slower warlock deck like I know blizzard has an absolute aversion to actually printing legion based cards but good lord the only reason we got Sargeras, the Destroyer is because this expansion gives everyone a titan, if they coulda gotten out of it i'm sure they would have as if it wasn't bad enough that the dark titan and lord of the burning legion can only summon imps (technically infernals too but you'll rarely see that) we get literally nothing else to do with the legion and instead a mismatch of old god themed cards which makes no sense paired with the class titan and as actual cards lumped into one expansion

Forge of Wills is just a really strong card. Chaotic Consumption is just a strong card. Combo it with an Armor Vendor, literally just combo it with any 1 drop.
Thornveil Tentacle is pretty good too. It's not hard to line up 2 damage on minions being effective. It's a very purposeful card. And Mortal Eradication just needs there to be 5 health on the enemy's side of the board and get probably 2-3 kills. It's terrific against Paladin for example. Sometimes the healing isn't even necessary. 3 mana deal 5 to ONLY minions is just a very effective early game board clear tool.
this is how sets should be more often: toolboxes instead of forced packages
-the horror is not gimmicky, 0 mana 5/5 good. Don’t know the earliest turn you could play this in standard. In wild it’s possible turn 1 with coin/2 as a real highroll
-forge of wills is a very good card with any cheap big minion. With Hörprobe it’s already a better construct quarter
-sargeras main ability is poofing the board and leave 12/16 stats for your opponent to deal with
-the aoe is a Good Control Card. Discarding a wincon doesn’t matter if the alternative is dying. It’s also renolocks second copy of soul rend
-the spell discard card is a discard card not an implock card
-chaotic consumption is no zoo card. Running removal in zoo, especially single target, is sketchy. Grimoire was different since it was good against other aggro decks

Is it time for Soul Barrage to be finally played ? I mean if you played Soul Barrage and next turn: Lady Darkvein + Devourer of Souls + Defile = 24 dmg like Astalor missles... we'll see if Discard Lock can be any good

I don’t know about standard boards turn 4, but in wild you often die to a board that you need at least 5 dmg aoe to clear. That’s why you play soul rend there in every slow warlock deck. You don’t need soul barrage of of it (wouldn’t work with darkvein anyways). This is a control card when early game stat spikes are common
Yup, I plan to replace shadowflame with this. Will update ETC with a copy of shadowflame in case I need a late game one side clear. I usually select entitled customer from ETC. Losing your late game card doesn't really matter vs. aggro.
