posted a message on If you want Arthas consider getting him before the nerfs hit

You need Murloc Tidecaller on T1, Rockpool Hunter or Coldlight Seer on T2, and Murloc Warleader on T3.

That start is basically imperative, as that will get you past his first minion, and you can start trading. You need to keep a steady flow of minions coming, and you have to get a Gentle Megasaur out hopefully on t5, with quite a few minions still alive.

It really is getting a near perfect run of cards, AND getting some luck with his obliterate and taunt minion. I probably had to restart 15-20 times, but once you get the right cards and his minions come in the right order, it is auto-win. .... but, it's either auto win, or auto lose, so just keep trying and restarting

Yup ... thought of that earlier today. Managed to get 7/9, with only Warlock and Warrior left ... and the total shit of it is, I had him at 3 health, just about to kill when the servers shut down on Warlock.

    Go figure

posted a message on Discuss the Nerf - Fiery War Axe
    Quote from MrShmoove >>

I think it's fine.  It can still be used.  You just open with n'zoth's first mate instead of coining out an axe on turn one.  Then coin out the axe turn 2 or play it on 3.  Not going to kill pirate warrior just slow it down a little bit.

THIS! ...Thank you ... (didn't have to post it twice though :-)

I think the QQ about War Axe is a little over the top. To say that increasing the mana cost of a single card has "destroyed the class", and it is now "unplayable" just seems to me to be absurd. If this logic were true, then why do warriors not concede on turn 2 if they haven't drawn War Axe?

The increase in cost ONLY breaks up what is a very OP "nuts" opener. (Which, BTW, is essentially what the biggest effect of Innervate's nerf did as well, taking out T1 Flappy bird from Aggro).

posted a message on I think Jade druid will be STRONGER with nerfs

To be fair, Jade didnt get stronger, it just got nerfed less than other decks that were strong against it.

I think what we will see is a quick rise to the top slot by Priest decks, and then we will see how well aggro can do with the nerfs, combined with tech cards.

What we may see is Jades playrate drop, because now it is more likely Giest will be a staple card in all aggro and control decks. The side effect of this will be felt more by shaman than druid, because when you knock out evolve, you cripple a shaman by taking there main win condition, while with Jade, it only puts a limit on them, and they still have plenty of other ways to beat most decks. I personally think shaman got hit harder than we realize, even if the Hex nerf hadnt happened.

And i think PW and Pally will be fine. PW can easily play around War Axe playing on 3 instead of 2. And pally has other cards to buff their fish.

posted a message on The Problem With the Base Set and Blizzard's Meta Philosophy

I REALLY want to believe or understand the reasoning Blizz gave on their decisions on what to nerf and why ... but dammit ... when it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck... its a freaking DUCK.

This is possibly the worst decision making I have EVER seen in gaming. And I have been through DOZENS of nerf/buff situations with Blizzard, both HS and WoW, as well as years of MtG, and multiple other games.

This just wasn't thought out all the way. THIS IS WHY NERFS USUALLY TAKE MONTHS. This is OUR FAULT. Look at this forum. Then look at virtually every other forum. See those 1,235,873,536 posts about needing a nerf NOW!!!!

Well, we got one ... way ahead of schedule ... and it is mind boggling. Nerf classes that actually have a positive win rate against the actual problem, and do little to nothing about the actual problem.

Oh well .. just wish they would get it done already so I could make sure Jade Druid is going to still be as OP as ever so I can start dusting and crafting, because if ya can't beat em, may as ell join them.

posted a message on No nerfs to jade idol or any jade cards at all...really?!?

Screw it ... Im just gonna make a Jade deck. They nerf every deck I play to specifically counter Jades, and barely, if at all, do a damn thing to the actual problem.

If ya can't beat 'em (or rely on Blizz to nerf 'em), may as well just become part of the cancer crowd until next expansion.

posted a message on Discuss the Nerf - Fiery War Axe

I really dont get all the "the card is trash" and "the class is ruined"

All this really does is stops the Pirate Warrior "nuts" opener (First Mate > Patches > Coin > Deckhand, then War Axe on T2, followed by a bazillion buffed pirates). Its just going to stop PW from being able to drop 10 damage by turn 2, with virtually no way to counter it.

posted a message on The cost of expected nerf

With the announcement of an upcoming announcement about nerfing Druid, I do have one concern. (FWIW ... I fully believe that Druid needs to be nerfed, so this isn't a veiled way to say I want things to stay as is.

My big concern is that this is going to potentially rocket quite a few very expensive decks to the top, making the remaining expansion pretty tough for newer, F2P, or "cheaper" players ladder progression pretty tough. Depending on exactly what they nerf, the impact on Aggro Druid could be significant. Right now, Aggro druid is kinda the new "Budget Hunter" deck. It is viable enough to climb the ladder to a decent rank with, and is pretty cheap to craft.

My concern is with Priest decks, many of which rely on multiple Legendary cards to be effective taking over the meta. While not quite as oppressive as Jade Druid, they are pretty damn tough. I am not F2P, but I am a new player (started with Un'goro), and even with what I would call a "decent" collection, most of the Priest decks would cost me at a minimum 3-4k dust, and many exceed 10k dust to craft.

Other decks that I think will rise to the top are also pretty pricey. Murloc Pally pretty much requires Tirion and Tarim ( I have them, but many don't), N'Zoth seems to be a staple in many other decks that could rise up as well if the meta slows down a lot with Jade (or Druid in general) getting a hard hit from the nerf hammer.

So what do you guys think? Will there be a viable "budget" deck left if Druid gets nerfed in such a way that Aggro Druid also becomes unplayable? Do you think Priest will potentially become the new Jade?

For now, I am just trying to reach my ladder goal, which this season is just to break 10. I have made it into the 15-10 bracket, so it's possible, if Aggro Druid doesn't get caught up too bad in the Jade nerf. (And, I don't play Aggro Druid exclusively, I do bounce between that and evolve shaman, with a little demon control warlock mixed in ... so I have options, just maybe not the best options).

Yes, Priest is tough .. but seriously .. where do you stop (or start) with nerfs? There is always going to be a dominate deck. The issue that has caused all the uproar with Druids is because their only real weakness is another Druid.

No, Highlander and big priest counter jade pretty well as does quest mage. The nerf party has begun, your favorite deck may be next.
Luckily I don't really have a "favorite" deck ... at least not that I play. Honestly, I would play Hunter if I found a good deck I could ladder with, but for now, I flip around between aggro druid, evolve shammy, murloc pally, and demon control warlock. I know I'll probably never make Legend bouncing around like that, but I'd rather have fun in the 15-10 bracket than just grind away with a cancer deck all day.
