posted a message on Dying to find a viable quest priest decklist

Not to be an ass,  but isn't the Quest Priest simply the quest card, a crapton of deathrattles and then N'Zoth?

You fill up the board, you trade, you hold your quest reward like you'd hold onto a Reno.
You heal yourself to 40, play N'Zoth and then keep going?

The whole problem has been and remains that it's a slow deck...you're forced to trade and trade and trade and in the realm of Face Warrior, Face Hunter, Murloc Paladin, and Quest Rogue where they are all hard hits to the face constantly, it's too slow to be competitive.

    At least in my opinion.

The second you reveal you're a quest priest the Rogue holds their vanish (if playing Flower Rogue), Warrior holds their Brawl, Paladin holds the (horrible, horrible) Pyromancer + Humility combo, and Hunter just keeps going face, face, face.

There are tricks you can try, but they're very draw dependent, even draw ORDER dependent.

Start with the  basics of the cards required and then fill things in.  I don't have a deck suggestion for you, but I'd be happy to help critique any deck you come up with.

Happy Hearthstoning (that's not really a word...I just made it up)

posted a message on Quest or Lyra Priest?

I've been playing with Lyra for a few days now.
Combining her with a couple of Radiant Elementals and plenty of 0 to 2 cost spells can often net you a OTK.
You just need some sticky minions, or at least some buffed ones and board control.

It leaves you until late game, but if you can get and keep board control she can be a LOT of fun to play with.

Using her and the above method I've OTK'd a Quest Priest who had just healed to full.  Got 2 Divine Spirit off back-to-back Power Word: Shield spells and a third Divine Spirit from the card draw.  I kept waiting to use Inner Fire in case I got another health buff.  Ended up with one of my Elementals at 80/80.

(Talonpriest made it a 2/6,  double Shields got it to 10.  Then 20, then 40, then 80, then Inner Fire, then to the face)

I recommend running with one Mass Dispel as well...handles those late game N'Zoth drops and leaves the path clear.

posted a message on Moat Lurker and Shadow Madness

I just got burned by this.  It's my fault for not researching things...

But should not Moat Lurker's Deathrattle affect the side of the board it's on when it dies?

I did a Shadow Madness on one that had been used against a Cairne.  Based on the card text I assumed I'd get his Cairne out of it. Alas, his Cairne came back on the enemy side of the board.

Is this an oversight?  Just the way it works?  I find the card text misleading.  I'm not being salty...I'm honestly curious what others think.

posted a message on Group therapy! Need to blow off steam? Mega salty? Here is the place!

So I'm playing in the Brawl against, what turns out to be, an idiot.

He drops Reno Jackson and heals up.  I have 2x Volcanic Lumberer on the board, plus some 2 drops.

He uses Gang Up on Reno.  You see the problem, there, right?

I start to laugh, then my wife comes home with the groceries and I'm forced to Concede to go deal with real life.  No worries for me, it's just a game.  What bugs me though is that this IDIOT on the other end thinks I flipped the table and stormed out of the game by his inspired use of Gang Up on Reno Jackson.

    *sigh

    You know what?
    Let me kill you.

I'm IN THE PROCESS of killing you and you concede at 1 health before my last minion takes her swing.

I haven't been farting around, using BM or roping.  It was a good game up until that point.

I can only assume this is you "flipping the table" on me.
    Well, GG diaper baby, GG.

posted a message on Should players apologise for bad RNG?

I don't see that drawing that card is RNG.
    It's not.
It's part of your deck...it's there for a reason...you PUT IT IN THERE FOR A REASON.

Face it, you're going to draw ALL the cards in your deck eventually if the game wears on long enough.

If someone has lethal onboard and I pull a rabbit out of the hat and win, there's nothing wrong (IMO) with apologizing for it, though I'm more likely to give them a Well Played rather than a Sorry.

It's the people who have an overwhelming board and spend the last turn proving how clever they are by doing complicated combination plays that gets under my skin.  Win (or lose) and move on.

posted a message on Shield Slam OP. Nerf?

How?  By going face?  That's the only way to "prevent" Shield Slam, by reducing their armour.

Please, tell me otherwise how to prevent it, assuming you aren't playing Mage and Counterspell?

I still maintain Shield Slam needs a down side.  It needs to consume the armour that it uses when it hits.

Got 10 armour and Shield Slam Dr. Boom?  It consumes 7 armour (assuming he's at 7 health).

posted a message on Randomonium - Random Cards, Random Costs - TB #18

I find it fun and generally quick.

I don't have anything riding on it.  It's amusing to see some of the crazy crap people can pull (hell, THREE Tirion Fordrings on the board?  Sheesh...)

The good thing is I'm motoring through matches and earning 10g every 5 minutes...

    CONTROL WARRIORS AND Shield Slam.

A 1 mana card with NO drawback that is essentially a hard removal of a minion.

At the least have it consume the armour it uses to deal the damage.  You've got 10 armour and you Shield Slam my Dr. Boom? Have it consume 7 armour.  Or even better, consider it a physical attack, so you take whatever damage you would take when attacking with a weapon.

The card needs SOME kind of drawback, IMO.

posted a message on Brawl #17 the cheep n easy way

Same here.  Though my opponent was playing what looked like a standard Mech Mage.  A couple of early clears and then FACE FACE FACE.

And I got an Edwin VanCleef.  Not quite a Fordring, but hey, a Legendary is a Legendary.

posted a message on complaints about netdecking in Casual

I find myself playing Casual when I'm trying to LEARN how to play a deck.

That, I think, is why we see constructed decks in Casual.  They're all netdecks, to be sure, but being played by people who haven't played with that deck or class much before, so they're trying them out in a no harm, no foul environment.

posted a message on Jerks at the beginning of the season?

I play a fair amount from my phone these days, and I get DC'd often.

I've found HS seems to suffer from these pretty frequently when you're on a mobile device.  I don't think it's my phone, the connection stays solid for everything else, and it's WiFi generally when I'm playing, and I'm staying in one place.

So a lot of what you're seeing might be people playing on the "new" mobile platform....except for the emote spamming asshats.

    Go fishing somewhere else....

I'm at 3 health vs. a Face Hunter...I have lethal on board.

It's his turn...he throws out a "Well played"...then waits.  Will I concede assuming he has one of a number of things to kill me?

NOT THIS TIME SCUMBAG!  I wait.
    I wait some more.
I got all the time in the world.

He concedes.   GO FISHING SOMEWHERE ELSE!  BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

posted a message on Armor removal / piercing mechanic?

I would like to see one minor change to Shield Slam.

I want it to consume the armor it uses.  It's a no-brainer right now.  Damage to a minion for 1 mana with no downside, often 10 or more damage for a good CW.  It's essentially another major removal.

And the reason I put this suggestion into this thread is because this thread is dealing with armor removal...and if Shield Slam consumes the armor, then it fits.

My main point is there is NO downside to Shield Slam.  Every warrior who uses their hero ability should be running it.

posted a message on Interesting scramble in ranked right now

At least in the American server...

I'm seeing a lot of variation in players and decks as everyone tries to get the best rank they can before the season officially ends.

Anyone else noticing a difference in Ranked Play this last day of August?
