Well I am torn between Highlander Hunter (HH) & Shudderwock Control Value Shaman (SS) -none quest-.

I havent played much HH but from this weeks Grandmaster it seemed very sold and crushing mages and warriors (and even a targeted ban), and with the upcoming nerfs to those classes I can see it being stronger. I think its only weakness is aggro? So I think you can have a secondary to protect urself from aggro and and what would your tertiary target?

As for SS (which I am more confident in) my struggles have always been mage, and I didn't play it this season yet with SoU release but did for the past two seasons get to rank 4 with it easily. I think I  can go primary to target warriors, secondary to target mage & hunters and 3rd to target aggro?

    Hello guys,

There is a local tournament taking place that I will be participating in (first tourny exp). The format unfortunately is Specialist (primary , seconadry, tertiary) and not conquest. It will take place after the balance patch.

What class do you think will be the most relevant to build around? I am usually a control shaman player and comfortable with the deck on ladder but from previous Grand Master Specialist format I never saw anyone bring Shaman, the most successful were Warrior and Mages. But given now we have SoU and Warrior & Mages are nerfed what do you think?

Pathetic nerfs if you ask me, basically 60% of the nerfed cards are irrelevant:

    • Barnes is wild only, and the nerf is not even enough, delaying him by one turn makes no difference as Archmage Vargoth can still be played on turn 4, and shadow essence is played on turn 6 following a turn 5 Barnes or board clear.
    • Luna's Pocket Galaxy & Extra Arms basically returned to their original state so this is a mistake on Blizzard's part. I think Extra Arms could have been 3 mana and the More Arms! to 2 mana but whatever. Luna's Pocket Galaxy could have been redesigned (many nice ideas from the folks on these forums) or made into 6 mana but again whatever typical Blizzard obliterating a card, it was "buffed" for a reason that it was crap and not seeing play.
    • So the only real nerfs are Conjurer's Calling and Dr. Boom, Mad Genius. While Conjurer's Calling is substantial and deserved it will not greatly affect mage as their freeze and stall can let them be patient for a Khadgar + x1 Conjurer's Calling turn. Nerfing Dr. Boom, Mad Genius by two mana while significant doesnt change much from control Warrior as their deck and game plan will remain the same, the change will just give midrange decks and some aggressive decks a chance which is nice.

So in conclusion this won't shake up the meta as people will think, where is Prismatic Lens nerf or Omega Devastator. Maybe singleton "Control" hunter can compete now.

You understand the concept of consistency, right?

Barnes AND Vargoth for 4 make the big priest strategy much more solid, after the nerfs, if they don't draw Vargoth then don't have more the crucial 4 turn play, giving aggro and midrange the precious extra turn to deal with it.

Slow controls decks that don't make the diference but for the others archetypes this nerf is a godsend.

Big priest will be a lot weaker now, maybe in the edge of being playable.

Yes I understand but you are way overstating that it will be not even playable, but weaker sure a nerf is a nerf. But with that being said there are versions that have been successful even without Barnes you know. He was a high-roll for the win sure, but the main culprit of the deck is the cheap and various resurrect mechanics along side Shadow Visions. Archmage Vargoth is much more devastating than Barnes.

And most importantly I was trying to state that this is barely a "nerf" patch, I expected a few more cards to be addressed as mentioned.

posted a message on Does the Boom nerf change anything for you?

Nerfing Dr. Boom, Mad Genius by two mana while significant doesnt change much from Control Warrior as their deck and game plan will remain the same. Hero Cards with the very few exceptions are known to be 8-10 mana cards. So I think the deck remains the same and just needs to board clear two turns more. What was Warrior doing on turn 9 anyway?

Now you can curve after playing Tomb Warden just fine. The biggest difference is that you will lose a bit of tempo that turn as you can't Hero Power immediately as with the previous Dr. Boom, Mad Genius if played on 9 you get a free Hero Power, I cant see more than that.

I'd also nerf minions with powerful effects combined with premium stats, by just taking away a stat or two. Powerful effects should come at a cost in stats. However, I don't think Blizzard will make these changes

OMG finally someone sees what I see, I mentioned that in another thread regarding premium stats on powerhouse cards like Underbelly Angler and Archmage Vargoth which is just ridiculous.

Hi!. Blizzard said nerf updates will come out this week. What will get nerfed to ground??.

Dr Boom - Only mechs in your hand have rush???? 👀😱

Source for that the nerfs are coming?

    My predictions are:

People suggesting HoF for Mountain Giant, Divine Spirit/Inner Fire, Dr. Boom, Mad Genius are being unrealistic. The first three might get rotated with the new standard year. While Mr. Boom will go to wild anyway, if anything they will make it that only the first Mech you play will have rush.

The leaked chat image shows Extra Arms being made back to 3 mana which I am against even if it is a strong card, because then Crystology needs to be reverted to 2 mana as it is power-creep/overpowered at 1 mana but nobody complains much. It will start a bad precedence if we buff cards then nerf them within the same year.

posted a message on What's your favorite class? And what class do you hate the most? (Regardless of the meta)

Wow it is so nice to see that Priest is among the most hated class by the time of this post and poll positions, I hate to face Priest in both Standard and Wild throughout the years and metas they are just a lame class with annoying mechanics.

Warlock (& Mage) are most favourite as they have a lot of flavour and can play many types of archetypes with their sets, aggro, control, midrange, combo, otk.

posted a message on Ranked Wild is really boring at rank 7

Secret Mage is cancer indeed, and it feels better to beat them than big Priest specially when they emote like lil t***s from turn 1, trying to understand their secret and having healing and 1 Eater of Secrets spells their doom.

Murloc shaman is just a typical aggro so no matter what deck you are playing you should be ready to face aggro.

Big Priest is just a high roll, even if you tech transforms, their first Barnes or summoned minion will indicate you are going to win or not. Combo and OTK is their enemy, I farm them with Exodia Mage or Mill Rogue.

Reno Warlock seems to be the strongest singleton, as they can mill/transform/heal/flood/etc....

Hence why it might be HoF when the next Standard year hits? I am not bothered to find  the blue post but its there. Plus Priest "strength" is single-target buffs, so maybe they will start playing like Paladin and have similar things like Blessing of Kings, so having a sticky high health minion with Divine Spirit is an option.

Anyway the combo is very lame and boring to play with and against in my opinion, some ever green cards like these & others like Gadgetzan Auctioneer/Mountain Giant/Malygos are just encouraging the same archetypes over the years to satisfy a very specific win condition with just changing a few cards each standard set.

I can't believe Conjurer's Calling isnt mentioned or a candidate for a mana bump, its just ridiculous, I don't think the design team thought it would be used by the Mage defensively as a win condition or someone will come up with this Mountain Giant shenanigans, as Mage's limitation is minion swarming and  taunt minions lol, hello Grave Horror who shows up in Mage more than Priest! Yet they print Khadgar alongside Conjurer's Calling and Vex Crow (lol)
