lol that's just typical to find on every post on this site tbh, almost every post aiming for discussion has its first comment be a one line useless quip that adds nothing to the discussion
After playing over 100 games of switcheroo priest and maintaining a positive winrate with consistent turn 3-4 12-12 murlocs in standard, it got me wondering, is consistency an issue right now or is it something a card game should strive for?
Switcheroo priest is just an example, over the past expansions a lot of consistency based keywords have been added like Tradeable and Dredge, not to mention the amount of cheap cards with targeted draw like Switcheroo, Conch's Call, Seafloor Gateway, Knight of Anointment and Treasure Guard just to name a few. So its never been easier to find that Wildheart Guff on turn 5 or Mr. Smite on 6...
Card draw has never been more accessible which leads to very aggressive and fast paced games I feel, every class seems to have targeted draw of some form, I remember the times where the most card draw you had in your deck was two Loot Hoarders and a Bloodmage Thalnos, that's it...
And of course Dredge contributes to that consistency by finding cards at the very bottom of your deck which is something you were never able to do before and otherwise had nothing you could do if a combo piece or an important card was stuck at the bottom of your deck, closest thing to that we had recently was probably Lorekeeper Polkelt or Sphere of Sapience, what are your thoughts on this?
card is absolutely busted, the downside to this card isnt really a downside at all, with you possibly refilling your hand with your own 0 cost spells you can easily deal with whatever minions you summon for your opponent especially since they are silenced, also the fact that this just mills the opponents spells is huge, i love your enthusiasm on the card but sadly im gonna have to give it 1 star balance 1 star design
Shaman has absolutely no comeback when it loses the board. It has no card that can turn the tables as other classes do.
uhh excuse me but Tidal Wave? Carnival Clown into Revolve?? hello? granted i haven't played with the new cards yet but even before the mini set i was having a positive winrate with a clown control shaman list at diamond rank so i would assume it had only gotten better with the dungeoneer and other cards, shaman is in a perfect spot right now in my honest opinion.
good priests will just illucia your cthun card anyway and disrupt that whole strategy so think of that as you will while crafting cthun for that deck
Also, personally ive been crafting a ton of standard legendaries ever since i switched from wild to standard, that includes cards from ashes of outland like kargath and bulwark, cards from scholomance like barov jandice and illucia, and from the darkmoon faire like all the old gods and ive been using all these cards in the decks i play and enjoying them so thats just my experience
the question is does the legendardy in first 10 packs rule still apply for these? if anyone can confirm id appreciate it cuz for now i dont think its worth buying for me personally
As a wild player, i can tell you that its worth, after so many games against secret mages and aggro paladin and murloc shamans i got super tired of the decks there, decided to try standard this season and been having a lot of fun honestly, i dusted most of my bad or unplayable wild legendaries and epics and crafted some fun standard decks, i did keep some of my favorite decks in case i decide to come back to wild, decks like togwaggle druid and razakus priest and shudderwock shaman, so i suggest you do the same dust bad cards keep cool cards that you think you might come back to soon.
Before core set was introduced to the game i was able to type 'golden' in the search box and hit the crafting button to get easy access to all the golden cards i have so i could dust them for full value since i always try to minmax my collection and frankly i dont care about golden aesthetics, so as you probably know now searching for 'golden' also pulls up all the golden core cards that you get by default at a certain level so i end up having to filter through each set to see if i have any golden cards i wanna dust from that specific set or not.
What i dont understand is why dont they filter out all the core set cards once you hit the crafting button since they are uncraftable anyway, thats how it used to be with the basic set, it would filter out once you hit the crafting button, but now to see the golden cards you're gonna have to go to crafting and click on the show golden cards filter and you'll have to search through the clutter of craftable golden cards and the ones you already have in your collection.
And that is only one of the many examples of how terrible the collection manager is and how much it could benefit from various changes here and there, its not REALLY a big deal i mean you could get by with the current system but compared to other card games ive played HS could learn a thing or two on how to manage a collection.
witchwood meta no doubt in my mind, even shaman and paladin were everywhere spamming call to arms and sea giants, there was also more refined versions of decks that stuck along from previous expansions like spiteful druid and priest, not to mention all the cancer rogue brought in with turn 1 triple keleseth oh and cubelock was a thing too at the time
at least there were some fun decks like odd mage and spell hunter, but spell hunter got absolutely busted when zul'jin rolled out in rastakhan
gotta agree though old god's meta was the best, i could be biased because thats around the time when i got into hearthstone but its not like i havent looked at the history of the game, so i am familiar with metas prior to wotog, and yeah witchwood meta still worse than undertaker meta cant change my mind
It really do be venomous scorpid all day long across all 10 classes since when did they play with specific cards offered chance last time i checked arena there was a bucket system that offered cards of similar power levels but this is actual news to me
