The priest steal theme continues. Nothing really new here, just another powerful way to steal in a class with a dozen strong steal cards. Since this is priest, you can expect to see 3-4 of these per game, generated by Galakrond.
I think it fits in any control-ish deck that has tokens. It's a cheaper mind control with a body in that situation. I put it in quest shaman, where I can give two lackeys and get two big bodies in return.
It's gonna be tought to balance. What made the dungeon runs fun was building crazy, overpowered decks. You can't really have that anymore if you're playing against a real person.
It's a lose more thing in arena. If you are winning, you can play around it. If you are losing, you need to cross your fingers and play that big minion. Then it's stolen, and game over.
I've been playing this since the expansion was released. It's fun. I like Al'ar in mine, just cuz it's awesome when it works and you have 5-6 fiery phoenix's out there.
all meta decks were homebrew at one point, they are just better homebrews than whatever you want to do.
I'm not sure this is true. What are the meta decks right now? They weren't discovered after the expansion was released. They were all immediately obvious once the cards were revealed. Sure, someone "made" them first, but we all made Beast Druid, Big Warrior, Spell mage, Stealth Rogue in our head the moment we saw the new cards. It didn't require any stroke of brilliance on anyone's part.
There was a time when new decks were regularly discovered for months after an expansion. The meta shifted with some regularity. Now, the meta is more of less set within the first week, and it stays stable until the nerfs come. The cards are both powerful and obvious, so it's tough to be creative.
Please next time name your post "Too many illidan's" or something. The title is pretty misleading
Seriously, there needs to be a separate website for BG. So many threads rope you in by the title, and then you discover someone is talking about the lame mode.
It's amazing to me that this mode has become popular. I guess if you slap a ranking on something, people will spend time trying to climb that ladder. The primary strategies of the mode were cracked in the first few weeks, and they have not changed since that time. They release new content, and it takes less than a day for people to re-calibrate. Top ranked players play on auto-pilot for hours a day, every move having been committed to muscle memory. The addictive power of candy crush style games are on full display.
This change isn't as simple as it looks. The card might not even be worth playing in those decks anymore.
I don't think I've seen that card in highlander mage since the last expansion. Highlander mage has a ton of big card options. I don't think this is a big deal for that deck.
It works fine. It's just not as good as face Hunter. Five of the classes are currently running silence, and in addition, priest can steal deathrattles pretty easily. That and the general lack of strong deathrattles makes it a hard type for this expansion. But it is fun!
You might want to reconsider some of your deathrattles to not dilute the pool for Vectus. I guess it's a trade off. You could also include eggs and Teron Gorefiend. I can't help but put Al'ar into my deathrattle decks, just for fun.

Looks fun to me.
But the best new mode would be classic with a shorter timer. A mode for smart people who don't need all that time to take a turn.

I just stole two taunts and gave two lackeys with Silas in my quest Shaman deck!

Instead of going for dragon synergy, go for deathrattle syngergy.
Use the stealth package, eggs, Vectus, Akama, Teron, Lilian, and Waxadred. Maybe Al'ar. Maybe Cursed Vagrant.

These are all great intros. King Krush, of course, is #1.

It's the kind of deck that would have wrecked people years ago, but now you need something bigger than 5 free damage out of a lion.
