posted a message on "Play 50 corrupt cards" quest?

That is an instant re-roll for me. So is the "play an old god 10 times" (I don't have any old gods). Any BG quest is my other auto re-roll. But you can re-roll every day, so you are bound to end up with something reasonable eventually.

Ugh, I'm up to 36 packs now. Feels bad. Does the legendary reward at level 25 reset the pity timer?

posted a message on Increase in XP required for every level.

There's a table with experience needed per level at the bottom of this article:

    https://outof.cards/hearthstone/2200-the-rewards-track-how-long-to-get-to-level-50-644000-experience-required-to-get-to-level-150

It gets worse and worse until level (topping out at 9000 experience) 50 and then goes back to "just" 4500 per level.

Everyone is up to about level 25-30 now. Welcome to the grind!

I've been used to 4-5 arena runs per week. I have 200 gold right now, and I'll do a run with it. If I don't get to 7 wins, I won't get to do another until I complete 5 daily quests.

    Ugh, the grind.

I don't understand why Rattlegore keeps making the lists for OTK warrior decks. The deck needs survival and draw, and he doesn't give either of those things. I've had more success with adding more draw, removal, taunt, or armor instead.

posted a message on [Darkmoon] Warrior OTK combo damage for each minion HP

There are multiple ways to play this, though. You can go for armor, in which case, you may win in fatigue. You can go mid range and put pressure on, so that they have to play minions. In that case, you may not need the full combo to win. ETC + Broom pairs well with any kind of token deck.

Or, for a bad but fun combo, use Silas to give them a 0/6 mana reservoir. Then you can get 24 of the combo damage by hitting the reservoir next turn.

Disagree. They are rush minions if they have rush.

posted a message on Progression Track Improvement Ideas

Look, unless they calibrate this system to give us as much as they used to give us, we come out losing.

That said, if they are determined to give us less, the one thing I'd like is for them to spread out the rewards more evenly instead of frontloading them. I'm at level 23, and I can clearly see that in a few weeks, daily quest rewards are going to feel completely insignificant. Give smaller rewards, and give them more frequently. It will feel better.

posted a message on Is Arena doomed at this point?

When I started as a f2p, I loved arena because it was the only mode where I could play all those cards I didn't have. It's still a great mode for that.

posted a message on Is Arena doomed at this point?

I used to play 1-2 quests in order to have enough gold for a run (plus the gold from my previous run). In that way, I probably did 4-5 runs per week over the past year. I'm not very good - I probably average 4-5 wins per run. I've hit 12 wins only 6 times total.

Now, when I'm up at level 40 or 50, I may have to grind for 10 days or more just to be able to do an arena run.

The constant income stream is a better way to give out gold than the frontloaded system they just introduced.

posted a message on My Biggest Issues with the New Progression System and How to Fix Them

I don't even mind getting less stuff (though I obviously like getting stuff). I play 30 minutes on the exersize bike every morning and then sometimes at night. I want to feel like that is getting me something. If I go two weeks of completing daily quests and get no reward at all, that won't feel good.

Just make 100 levels instead of 50, make them give out less (40 gold? 50? whatever balances it), and make them more frequent. Just make us feel like the daily quest is actually getting us something.

Yes, I believe the psychology of it could be improved.

Blizzard could give out the same total amount but in smaller, more frequent increments, and it would feel better. When we reach level 40+, and it takes over a week to get any kind of reward at all, that's going to feel bad. I'm used to doing an Arena run every other day or so based on completing daily quests. By the end of this expansion, I may have to wait 10 days to do a single Arena run. And if I go 2-3 in that run and get no gold, that's gonna feel even worse.

The frontloading of the rewards feels good at the start, but it's really gonna be a slog a month from now. In the past, they still frontloaded an expansion with rewards, but then it was a steady stream. I think they could easily adjust this system to give out the same total overall but to make it feel less grindy.

posted a message on [Math] Old VS New Reward System [UPDATED]

I only read through the "questing adventurer". The OP includes free packs and cards in the calculations for the new system but only inludes gold from quests in the calculations for the old system. They have always given us a lot of free packs each expansion (current and previous expansion packs), and they've usually given us 2 legendaries per expansion.

Even with their generous estimates on time played and experience/time rates, if we go for the fair comparison, the OP is shorting the old system by 1,500-2,000 gold. Almost every other "mathematical" analysis I've seen shows that the new system clearly gives us casual players less overall.

    Quote from tsudecimo >>

The new system isn't all bad. It's good that there is exp to earn in all game modes, the problem is the number of those exp points which represent an even bigger grind than 10g per 3 wins.

I've been trying to find something that explains how much exp we get for playing. Can anyone show me where I can read this? Or explain it? I understand that we get exp for playing. How much? Does the mode matter? Does winning/losing matter? TIA

posted a message on Blizzard please change the progression system back

Question: do we get experience for time played or for wins? Or just for daily quests?

If we get experience for time/wins, they need to figure out a way to give it for arena, BG, and duels.
