Similar to Lord J, you destroy your current hero then become a 9 Health Demon Elusive = Can't be targeted with spells/HP. +3 Attack during your own turn with Lifesteal. Immune while Attacking. Whenever an enemy minion dies, you summon 1 of the three spawns at random.
So recently, Blizzard posted that they will have a reveal showcase stream with regards to the new hearthstone year, and it got me thinking about some things. What if, they made an update to the board structure, just like in Faeria, wherein you first need to get through the enemy lines before you can attack their hero. For a more vivid explanation, pls refer to the image below:
wherein H = hero portrait W = weapon slot HP = hero power 7 circles/ side = minion slot horizontal line at the center = boundary for each side A.K.A. "Borderline"
I think, implementing this change would have a significant impact on the whole game. Think of minion placements, cards with "adjacent" effects, aggro decks, taunt placement, etc. This even has an impact on how devs make new cards in the future and create new mechanics based on this change.
I even think that this sample layout that I made can have other different designs and settings. If this is implemented, I think that this simple change can possibly have a map veto process during hearthstone matches which can add a whole new depth to the gameplay and freshness to the overall hearthstone experience.
To explain the map veto idea: Supposing we name the picture above as "Map Northrend", and that map has certain conditions / gameplay mechanic / restriction unique to that specific map. Let's say, Northrend's map effect is something like "The card you draw normally on your turn is Frozen for 1 turn." or it could be "The first time your minions cross the borderline, they get Frozen."
Another map idea could be "Map Twisting Nether" - lets say this map has a different layout from that of Northrend and also has its own unique perks /effects like: "Whenever a minion dies, it gets Banished" - which means cannot be resurrected for the rest of the game. or it could be "All minions are also considered Demons, in addition to their normal Tribe". And many other notable places in WoW universe.
I considered all the inputs regarding the first version of my card, and I think that is was indeed, a bit OP. My intent for it is to be included in quest plot twist warlock as I personally enjoy that archetype even though it has a low win rate %. From a design perspective, Lord Karthas is an immortal vampire that gets revived after he absorbs the soul of a friendly minion, and for me, it fits perfectly. I think this new version is way more balanced than the original one, especially with the removal of rush.
