I believe I have played it only a few times if ever, still, there's people that like it... why remove it? Really because of money?

Duels players never ever spend money some other way in the game? I doubt this.

Maybe, or they just don't care. They want nostalgic people to go play twist so they don't have to bother fixing wild ever again.

They know exactly what decks and cards are stronger, they have all the stats they can possibly want.

If they don't do anything it's cause it isn't worth it economically.

    1. watch Shadybunny 's stream, he's the best to learn the basic concepts because he takes the time to explain the logic behind them. If he's offline, watch the VODS.
    2. triple T1 only if they are economy or weaver (in general)
    3. level whenever the gold fits or you feel strong enough (if you don't want lots of minions from the tier you're in)
    4. only roll on a tier if you need more than 1-2 specific minions from it
    5. buy minions that open up strategies (i.e. shields and taunts if quilboars are in)
    6. don't go for weak (in combat) scaling units like Nomi if you are weak and it's past turn 7 or 8
    7. watch what your opponent is playing for positioning (and tech accordingly from turn 8-9 and after)
    8. don't plan too much for the future (but point 3 still applies), always try to win the next fight

I play on EU. You can add me if you want, I might come spectate now and then, but I'm only 8.5-9k mmr so far. I mostly play around 8pm/1am while watching movies with my girlfriend.

Buy a couple small taunts or deathrattles or tunnel blaster. Venomous / Leeroy is fine.

posted a message on Battlegrounds is rigged
    Quote from GAB >>

For those who don’t think this game is rigged I want to share with you a scenario and I ain’t good with maths but I’m pretty sure the odds of this happening are extremely unlikely.

im in battlegrounds top 2. I have 40hp and second place has 10hp.
I am dragon deck and although my minions are alll quite high damage I have 2 OP dragons that are like 200-200+ that will just win the game for me by default. But he has that tier 6 poison minion that gains taunt wind fury and divine shield and due to his deck build he would get all of those buffs. I have 0 taunts and I versed him 4 rounds in a row and 4 rounds in a row his poison windfury snipes both my high win condition cards. So hitting the correct 2/7 minions perfectly for 4 rounds straight is rare but it not that bad right?

Well remember when I said he also gets taunt. On that minion. That means if I attack first I could attack that taunt. Problem is he had another taunt. And every round even though I attacked first for 3/4 rounds with 50% chance of hitting that poison and removing his Devine shield with one of my weaker cards. Thus meaning he can no longer kill BOTH my win conditions but still yet I never attacked that taunt.

anyways stuff like this happens A LOT and there is a skill element to battlegrounds knowing combos and strats and how to build a deck and be effective with gold. But there are things that happen which are completely luck based like not attacking first for like 6 rounds in a row when your first minion ramps up the rest of your minions like a beast deck (and yes with 7 minions on board)

Once there are only 3-4 players left, you might want to stop your scaling (or keep going with the most important scaling-providing units if you know for sure you can win), and replace scaling-providing minions (brann, nomi, kalec, peggy etc.) with combat / utility minions like Leeroy, Blaster, Selfless, Glowscale, Baron, Sunbacon,  Taunt givers, Nadina, 3/4 windfury etc.

In your situation it seems like a couple of buffed (6-7hp) and taunted Leeroys would be the way to go, plus a selfless and perhaps a baron and or a blaster (if the opponent starts with more shields than you). Or even just the 3/4 windfury to remove taunt from both your opponent taunts. Should you go second, his queen will attack into one of your leeroys trading 1 for 1 instead of 1 for 2 with your dragons. Also get queens yourself.

This is how you win games instead of getting 2nd place. It's called "all in".

If you know you have only two combat units and 5 garbage you have to start collecting tech way before there's only you and the opponent left, so that you're ready for the all-in.

I tied a 92% win percentage final fight and then conceded, because I had sold both my glowscales for a Leeroy and a Selfless and there was no way I could win without the two additional shields from the glowscales. My opponent was stronger. But that's how the game works, you give it your best shot, sometimes RNG doesn't go your way. But don't be quick in blaming RNG.

    Quote from Palemoon >>

So basically as predicted pretty much the entire reborn-package of Battleground being nerfed, with the two main offenders being downright removed if I read that image correctly. I'd say it was fun while it lasted, but honestly it'll be nice to play against anything but the same two comps every single time again.

I think they will lose the undead tag, making them alot harder to reborn (from hero powers only pretty much).

Ghoul of the feast down from +3 to +2.

Anub arak down from +3 to +2 and down 1 tier, or up 1 tier unchanged.

No idea how to fix eternal summoner, perhaps buff the minions in other tribes like Nomi, Saurolisk, Molten rock, Mindmuck, Kaly, and a ton of other minions that are now garbage, specially when you compare them to the new dual tribe minions.

Amplified from the lack of quests, we're back again to hitting or not hitting being the biggest decider for top 4/bottom 4. Quest meta was alot more skill based IMO. Now, if you don't get the new minions you're screwed. The old ones are so much weaker.

The fact that you need a specific hero to top 2 with some tribes (Galliwyx or Millhouse for dragons and elementals) is completely stupid.

Either removes those heroes and buff the tribes accordingly, or allow all heroes to win with those tribes. Also quilboar is basicly the same, with stat gain capped from money.

posted a message on Looks like quest are going? (hero balance)

Anyone else feel BGs are more balanced with quests? If you get a bad hero selection you still have a chance to get a good quest selection.

Quests are also generally easier on requirements with bad heroes. I think this balances things nicely. I am a little worried to go back to the old system where your chances to end in top 3 dropped dramatically with bad hero choices...

Do you think they will balance the heroes better or they will simply adjust armor? I play around 9.2k on EU.

I actually liked the quests alot, they sort of balanced the heroes a little bit. Did they really have to go?

You could get a "meh" hero selection but if you get a good quest you could make up for it. Of course good hero and good quest is even better... but at least with quests you got a second roll.

Quests were also easier on requirements on bad heroes, most of the times. Hope they will do something with the balance changes to help it, other than adjust armor.

posted a message on Bad heroes you enjoy and win with usually?

Not sure 100% which heroes are good or bad, it will vary alot on the level of play and ranks, and the offered tribes I suppose.

I can tell you the heroes I usually don't see much in lobbies that I enjoy playing, those would be; The Jailer, Maiev, Pyramad, Hooktusk, Malygos, Guff... I'll take any of the above over a Patches or Cookie every time (I really can't play those heroes), unless the tribes are really horrible for them.

I am not sure it was a good idea to remove Whitemane from BGs while Uther/Quests are still around. Now Rivendare is not counterable at all. I guess the meta will be Baron builds for a while.

I've played with schooling (I love that card) aswell, but it makes my hand too big and playing minions offers targets to decks like quest mage or miracle rogue that need minion targets for their spells.

Keep fishes in hand.  They have rush.

I do not play the deck perfectly, I've probably played 30-35 games with it in the last few days.

I'm still learning, but Warlock does not require much of a combo, they are never anywhere near 40 health, usually in the 20 range where Bioluminence is not usually needed.

I keep a frog, draw .. if I am on coin, I do not keep 0 cost cards because I have coin.  I prioritize keeping Finders Keepers, Scalding Geyser and I count/plan every turn.  Sometimes I still blow it.  A frog on board sometimes leads to a full hand and then I don't get the quest reward, so I play careful.

I think because I haven't mastered the deck completely, I like it more since I am still learning it.

Sorry, I meant over 200 wins... not games :D I might experiment again on a version with double Schooling, that should help greatly with secret mage aswell.

Playing that deck without a deck tracker is very impressive. I find I'm checking my remaining cards list and planning 2 to 3 turns ahead of time for what I'm gonna do.
