Kinda like a tribe-specific N'Zoth variation. The copied Battlecries do stack. For example, if two Fire Elementals, a Frost Elemental, two Fireguard Destroyers, a Stone Sentinel and Kalimos, Primal Lord died while Emberscar was in your hand and you played an Elemental the turn before you play him, he will deal 3 damage to a target twice, freeze that target, gain 1-4 attack twice, summon two 2/3 Elementals with Taunt AND cast an Elemental Invocation.
Decided to take another route with the ascendant. How's this?
Bump
Quite interesing. I'd raise it's stats a little bit, because if you happened to top deck this guy he would be abismal with those stats. The effect is cool overall.
Hm, I guess you're right. Considering how he depends on being in your hand AND you playing other elementals first to get stronger, and most elementals with great battlecries are quite expensive themselves...
Better?
IMO you can't stat a minion with that effect so aggresively just because "If you topdeck it it's useless". A lot of cards are trash if you draw them in the worst possible moment and game changing if you topdeck them. Elementals we've seen so far have HUGE battlecries. At least make it 10 mana.
Imagine if N'Zoth had to be in your hand when the Deathrattle minions die to actually work. Should it still be a 10 mana 5/7?
Emberscar is kinda like that.
If you get two Fire Elementals, two Stone Sentinels and, it becomes crazy strong. 8 mana 7/7, deal 6 damage, summon four 2/3 Elementals with Taunt, and cast an Elemental Invocation!
But to get there you need two 6-mana minions, two 7-mana minions and an 8-mana legendary to die. While this guy is in your hand.

I always thought Ascendants were criminally underused in WotOG, and apparently they're not Elementals themselves, seeing as Hallazeal won't be changed. But they are obviously deeply conneced to the elements.

I can't believe they think bumping Super-C'Thun or Skull of Free Spells by 1 mana is enough

Netherstorm! Void! Ethereals! Weeeeee!

It's a passive effect, like Sorcerer Apprentice.

Works really well with Magma Rager.

Better late than never.
Next: a neutral legendary that replaces your hero.

Next: a 9-mana spell.
