I wouldnt dust stuff of the current Rotation but if you have no interest in wild and duels, feel free to dust old stuff.

That is what I do, if I need dust.

Very intressting. If your Observation is right, it might be caused by the hero swap.

Could it be that you've been on 20 HP?

    Mage.

It says a lot when a class is more interested in the Neutrals of the set than its own class cards, and that's the case with Mage. Rainbow Mage wants nothing to do with the Mage class cards, as they don't really fit anything. Excavate looks horrible, overpriced for the effects in all cases, and sure, 1 mana Titans are strong, but are they strong enough to maindeck 2 mana Freezing Potion?

The rest of the class cards are thrown to the wind. There's these two weird Elementals, one which wants to be in an Elemental deck that doesn't exist while the other very much so doesn't. And the rest is just bits and bobs, which don't belong anywhere. Either it's setting up for something, or half this set is going to be left out to dry.

I'll see your 2 mana Freezing potion and raise you 3 mana Execute. Warrior excavate package is laughably bad in general if it were not for the ridiculous Badlands Brawler, which I think is just the reason the whole package for Warrior is so broken just to make THAT card not an autoinclude in every mid or late game deck, with some excavate support as the price to pay for it. So they made excavate just atrocious in Warrior to "compensate", which means you will now run none of the package. And that's not even getting into how bad Slagmaw is.

If it wasn't for the Taunt package being okay, this Warrior set would be a total loss, and we all know that Taunt warrior has never worked. I think with the whole of the Excavate package being ridiculously bad, it trumps what other classes got in bad cards, just cause they failed the MAIN selling point in the expansion.

That is pretty much what I said, so I fully agree. But you forgot that the 2 mana quickdraw removal is totaly busted.

This may Sound weird, but as a (usual) warrior main I am very glad that warrior got a super strong early removal, without any silly restrictions, that is still good without the quickdraw.

I mean it's a very good quickdraw card and clearly the highlight of the warrior set, this card will be played until it rotates. So that alone is great lol...

Btw about excavate, its probably better to run as few as possible, to reliable get your 100% brawl and ignore the legendary reward crap. You clearly wouldnt want to run that package at all (4-5 bad cards dont justifie that t4 reward), only the brawl is worth it.

Warrior looks super terrible. The taunt archetype never worked in the history of hearthstone and excavate seems crazy slow and heavy overpriced in warrior. Paying 3 mana for execute is nuts. The reward of excavate is also relative meh, should it work somehow then soley cuz of that guranteed brawl.

Just the 2 mana removal is insane. So for me warrior basicly got one card that is definitly viable.

You think the execute and armor gain should cost 1?

    Lol that'd be insane.

You want to excavate asap to get the final reward, so  Blast Charge is more likely to remove some 3/1 dummy rather than a titan. And this is insanely poor play indeed.

I am kinda on your side, the armor gain shouldnt be 1 though, 2 would be in line.

A execute effect for 3 is just insane imho. Execute is alread underpowered for 1 mana. Nothing justifies playing it for 3.

Anyways I believe excavate wont work in warrior, the class cards are horrible overpriced and the neutrals dont look much better.

The reward wont be enough to justifie that many trash cards in your Deck.

As cool as the card is I just don't see Slagmaw working. The execute excavate card is incredibly awful and against a number of decks isn't even feasibly playable on the board, so that leaves you with the armour and the neutrals. Problem is, both the kobold miner and the armour card cost less than Slagmaw, which means if you draw them before you draw Slagmaw then either you're holding a hand of bricks or Slagmaw is going to be useless. Similarly if you do not play Slagmaw on turn 4 the longer the game goes on the less impressive his effect will be. You can theoretically awaken him on turn 6 but you have to draw both him and all 4 low cost excavate cards, and also not use them to do anything until that turn.

tl;dr the Azerite Ox seems good enough to build excavate around but Slagmaw doesn't

I agree Slagmaw is a waste 4 mana card in at least 80% of all matches.

I dunno if I agree on the Ox, warriors excavate and the neutral cards seem very bad in total. You hardly could play a Deck full of shit just for that. I mean it's probably better to run a Deck with 4-6 solid cards, over this bounch of crap. At least its discover so maybe there is a minor Chance for it to be worthwile.

It's also very unlikely for warrior to get this out before a reno or any other full clear is playable.

Blast charge is the biggest joke, even at 2 mana it wouldnt be good, maybe decent.

Execute is a classic card, that probably could cost 0 and still wouldnt see much play.

Several classes have single Target removals for 1-2 mana nowadays. This should definitly read: kill a enemy minion.

Yep, that's the card which delayed this whole package being revealed.

Giving Hunter access to even more Arcane spell generation is spooky. Totalling up, this is 12 damage which can all go face for 7 mana, more if combined with a Silvermoon Farstrider or late Halduron Brightwing.

I am totaly undecided about this card. 4 mana 2 dmg weapon is extremely bad for hunter Standards, 12 dmg for 7 mana over 3 turns also dosnt sound like a powerplay.

Hunter easily plays 12 dmg out of hand turns already. Also what would you cut to make room, it must be a 4 mana card, so prison braker is the only option. That would leave you without any clears, almost.

posted a message on What is the worst class from a design perspective?

I play since classic (with brakes) and priest is still not lvl 60.

Dk is also not 60 but this one is relative new and could possibly get it one day.

With dh I had troubles for a long time but I made it a few metas ago, sometimes I like Combo decks, when they are versatile enough. Also relic was okish.

This is about me as the player. About the Design in general, my votes go for rogue, priest, druid, in that order.

Rogue is either unplayable or broken, it's almost the same with druid, while priest is most of the time just crazy boring.

Though I liked some rogue decks in the past and used to Main druid in classic and c'thun times.

Ramp and "free" bounces is a totaly shity design that is either  to weak or to strong.

This leaves a portal on the field, you wouldnt want to clock your board with Portals, more then 3 would be insane.

Also I dont even know if you can have multible versions of the same Portal.

Intressting, cuz I had the same thought.

I mean it looks like a effect for control but the first two concepts  I came up with was, Imp/excavate and Fatigue/excavate.

With fatigue you get even more out of hand dmg and some tempo and imps give great draw and a truckload of tempo.

Also if I would play it in control, I'd prolly wouldnt go for a fancy combo, maybe I'd use one or two bouncer if the Deck has enough bounceworthy stuff but I wouldnt make it depend on a bounce Combo.

I think you all are very optimistic on a 4 card combo that requires Thaddius polarity and some bad cards to be played before it. Maybe this will be the big combo finisher warlock needs, but this decklist isn’t it.

I am not sure if anybodys comment was actually about the deck, I at least talked about the card itself.

There is probably no need for thaddius, to pull of a combo, also I dont know if you need or want to Combo it At all... but the card is nuts for sure

A well supported Crescendo could possibly hard carry this card to greatness on its own. Everything else is just gravy.

That was also my thought, most likely this helps to skyrocket a fatigue build.

A 5 mana boardclear that has the potential to full heal, just like those super anoying dh heals were. The heals were the Sole reason those builds worked, back in their days.

Also it rly fits into a selfdmg fatigue style to have a full heal

It's the typical first-second week nerf card.

Actually I have no idea how it went live like that, Astalor is garbage in comparsion.

I am a warlock Main and I rly hate it, it's just to good.

My expectation is, it will go to 5, maybe even 6 mana and 8 HP, not in one nerf but it will see more then one for sure
