posted a message on $20... Too much for Battlegrounds?

What's the point in paying gold for BG perks when you can't earn gold in BGs? I don't want to play constructed. And if I wanted to, why would I spend money on Battlegrounds?

Also I hate it how they shove in your face that you have only 2 out of 4 heroes.

posted a message on My friend dusted all wild rotated cards to craft standard reno mage

I am not paying Blizzard. I don't want to support what it does.

I might be sort of a collector and dusting cards felt bad but difference was between being unable to play at all and being unable to play Wild.

    I never dust classic cards.

If they recycle brawls anyway, why can't they recycle good ones instead? The ones they've put work into.

posted a message on How good is Reno mage?

It has a high winrate on HSReplay. I don't get why, honestly. It does not look like a strong deck and I've never lost vs it.

It is not a very good choice against Murloc Paladin, though.

posted a message on Your thoughts on disappointing and succesful decks

What came to my mind is that I don't really like quests, at least in form they are here. Games become too reliant on drawing specific cards. Like, in Rogue, it's all about drawing those cards you need to finish the quest early. You can't put too many of them because they're not very good by themselves. And if you lose too much time, you are screwed. And mirrors are just pure draw RNG.

Shaman quest looks really strong and fun to play. It can be tweaked to suit different metas, but atm I had a 80% winrate over about 30 games with it.

Rogue quest, while powerful, is extremely random and again, especially Rogue mirrors are extremely frustrating. Whoever does the quest first has a huge advantage. I have mixed success with the deck, it is kinda fun to play when it works, but a miserable experience when it does not work.

All Mages I've met had terrible decks.

Midrange Hunter is still really strong.

So the effect is comparable with a flamestrike. Would you want to have a flamestrike on a stick for 6 or just get a second flamestrike and not bother with having a highlander deck? Ehhh. Unless there are more cards to support this archetype (which I enjoy playing), this sucks.

That's just insulting. Cards with such high variance should not exist. As if Ram Wrangler didn't tilt me enough in arena. At least on average this card is underwhelming, but the time someone will snatch a victory from you with a random King Crush you will remember my words.

    Fun, but weak. Either that or I have no idea how to play it. Getting overrun both by aggro and value decks. Sometimes you get lucky, but most of the time burgled stuff is below average and is simply too weak to play;

posted a message on I don't want to sound whiny...

I am all up for it's removal. It's not healthy for the arena. Basically when you play vs mage, every 4+ cost minion of them has taunt. Ugh. It is absolutely insane with Nerubian Prophet, Even without twinspell it would be a very strong card. With twinspell, it's just broken.

Buff the occurence rate for other mage's cards if you want.

posted a message on What are the best arena classes?

Flexibility is the key. Warlock can play aggressively, Warlock can play value game, Warlock can have all of that in one deck - easily first. Even if they nerf Abyssal Enforcer occurence I don't think he'll get below pos.1

Hunter is great at beating Warlocks which is why he is second on Heartharena. Hunter has a bit of flexibility but his true strength is in ability to counter Warlocks by dealing lots of face damage early on.

Priest would be top 1 if not for Warlocks. Priest can handle most of the decks by playing insanely broken 3-drops and 4-drops and getting more value out of them. But this is not enough to beat Warlocks, to which they can't apply enough pressure like Hunter does.

    Rest are a bit lower.

    Quote from Dweight888 >>

HS has always been RNG heavy, it will never ever change. But this expansion, those lackey cards etc., they are just making the game worse. Together with not considering HOFing the hero cards, this game is absolutely horrible this expansion and the game needs several nerfs together with deleting elysiana and immediately hall of faming the hero cards. This game can never be balanced if there are classes with hero cards and other classes dont have the access to them. I miss old team 5.

As much as I like the idea of Deathstalker Rexxar and enjoyed playing Frost Lich Jaina, I agree. DKs are a bad design, they're way too good without any real drawbacks to running them. Play your average midrange Hunter and Zul'jin is basically your N'zoth. Play a tempo Bomb Warrior deck and Dr.Boom and Omega Assembly are your lategame. It's ridiculous. Poor priest, for example, can't ever handle this: the canonic control class can't play a control game, only some weird combos!

posted a message on TOO much of RNG this rotation? (both Constructed and Arena)

I've came back from a hiatus to check out this game once again. I had a fair bit of fun, but getting bored again. My issue is that there is too much RNG. HS has always been an RNG-heavy game, but I think they've overdone it.

Mainly in form of the Discover mechanic. It's just absurd now. I loved Discover when it was initially introduced in LoE - there were few Discover cards, and they were fairly balanced (Ethereal Conjurer, Museum Curator). Most importantly, you had some idea what to expect - Museum Curator is usually for some big minion and/or taunt, Ethereal Conjurer is usually for removal, and at turn 5 you can guess what your opponent has picked with some degree of success.

New Discover cards are just absurd. That Rogue card that discovers ANY spell? Yeah, good luck playing around spells that class should not have. It's not even "your opponent's class". Or even 3 classes like in MSoG. Good luck playing around random Brawls and Pyroblasts. Gets me salty every time. Not only that, every damn top tier deck (except for Token Druid) has some form of random or semi-random card generation. Don't get me started on Dr.Boom's shenanigans, when mechs are such at high power level difference it may get just insane. Oh, I forget that Dr.Boom's hero power also rotates randomly and can vary between mostly harmless Arcane Explosion or 6 mana: summon a 4/5 with Rush, deal 10 damage to a creature, yay!

Value generation in general went kinda absurd. Many decks (especially Aggro) don't run draw effects, because cards produce even more cards (hello, Twinspell), cards produce an endless stream of cards (hello, Murlocs), and of course there are one trick wonders that just play what was played before (Zul'jin, Kangor's endless army).

Another pinch of salt goes to the lackeys and how they impact arena. Arena by itself is not too bad, I enjoy playing all the OP cards priest has, my opponents... probably less so. But by no coincidence Rogue and Warlock top the Arena - with their absurd lackey generation. Lackeys are a RNG on top of RNG. They are random, and produce mostly random effects. Ehhh. Lackeys are a surprisingly annoying mechanic which always tilts me when either I get the worst one possible (yay, a random 2-drop at turn 15!) or my opponent gets the only one that will save him (you REALLY had to discover Unidentified contract INTO Contract + betrayal?).

Anyone else feels the same? It's not like it is an absolute worst expansion, I am having pretty good results in Arena and still tinkering with controll-ish Shaman for Constructed but it would be much better with less of these effects.

Idk, I have 12-0 w-l vs Rogues as a Priest. For some reason priest is the class I meet the least. I think it is disgustingly strong and is only third due to bad players.

What do you mean? Bad players only plays as Priests and not as Rogues? C'mon. That statistics reflects the real power of a Class just because of its huge numbers. I picked Priest and never offered that 4-7 body, Potion of Madness or Dragon's Potion. That deck was weak with such a low value. You need key cards then you are good. When you don't have them, then you are probably in a very bad shape.

P.s. And the fact that Priest is "only third" does not mean it is bad. It is 3rd out of 9 Classes. With Rogue undoubtedly the first, and Warlock undoubtedly the Second.

    P. p. s. Paladin is my best class in Arena right now (and always was). But it doesn't mean that it is the best Class overall. I just like to play Paladin and know how to draft properly and more importantly - how to draft fitting my style of play. I think personal preferences plays an important role in your success. But the real rankings is there and they kinda missing your subjective feelings, like, at all.

It's kind of the same as Grim Patron - playing Priest is more difficult than Rogue imo.

Or maybe I just got lucky with my drafts. Went 12-1, 12-2, 8-3 with priest. 3-3 and 12-2 with Rogue, tho.
