posted a message on New Card - Feign Death

"The combinations are endless, and only get more interesting with Baron Rivendare in play . . . combined with Feign Death, your minions trigger their Deathrattles twice!"

These are not two separate sentences. Baron Rivendare is obviously the subject of this sentence. The ellipsis (...) acts as a bridge, like a comma to cause a pause and to imply more, without actually saying it. The second part of the sentence is directly related to the first part, not related to the other combinations written in the post. Also note the half after the ellipsis the first letter is not capitalized, if they were separate subjects it would be in a statement of it's own.

The benefit of this card comes from the fact that not only do you have control of when they activate, but you also have the ability to get a Deathrattle effect while the minion it belongs to is in play. For example, Sneeds Old Shredder, you get the body of the card, while also activating its summoned Deathrattle, while the minion is still alive... thus giving you 2 minions at once, when originally you would have only gotten one after the other died.

I do not see a way Blizzard would make something about equal to Reincarnate, cost the same, while being an AoE spell. It seems to me that once the Deathrattle is triggered its removed from the card. This is just the way I see that they wrote it and is completely based on their posts grammar and structure, and is somewhat open to interpretation due to the cards description being rather vauge. Only a Blue or Brode will be able to clarify for sure.

It does seem like its implying that, it hard to really tell by their wording. I really hope it gets removed, doesn't seem even reasonable to trigger it twice.

Just to Clarify, as posted here : http://us.battle.net/hearthstone/en/blog/16893478/goblins-vs-gnomes-deathrattle-11-27-2014?abt=nav1&utm_expid=68589644-24.yOgsCsWhSz-gOSDIbl82Wg.1&utm_referrer=http://us.battle.net/hearthstone/en/blog/?abt=nav1

Copy from post... "Feign Death will trigger all existing Deathrattles on your minions as if the minion died, without the glaring drawback of actually dying. Have a Nerubian Egg in play? Now you have a Nerubian Egg AND a Nerubian! Have Sneed’s Old Shredder in play? Now you have a Sneed’s Old Shredder and a random Legendary minion! The combinations are endless, and only get more interesting with Baron Rivendare in play . . . combined with Feign Death, your minions trigger their Deathrattles twice!"

It does seem like that is implying use with Baron Rivendare, which if it does remove the deathrattle after triggering, its still a decent card, but not OP as initially though, clarification is needed.

Its a solid minion, not sure if paladin really needs much help with early game though. Might enable pallys to keep up with hunter and other undertaker/deathrattle starts.

Edit: Whats with all the hate, lol. Pally 'could' use some help, but overall with Avenge, Noble Sacrifice, Aldor, and Argent Protectors, and now Muster for Battle they have a decent start. Biggest problem with the Pally I see is it does have trouble with Zoo and Hunter, and this card will help tons.

My favorite will be, Knife Juggler and Muster for Battle.

Not only that, but if this works with Baron Rivendare, triggering all Deathrattles twice... It will be interesting for sure, no clue about if it would be doable though. Just a fun thought.

I think this card might be harmful to the hunter if they were trying to create a separate viable deck type, this makes the same old build MORE appealing.

Well said. Even with random effect you still have some control over the outcome. While I do believe a vast majority of the random cards will go largely unplayed in higher ladder, there will still be some that are quite useful. And even if not played in ladder, it will make for some very fun and interesting casual and arena play. It isn't as bad as a large part of the player base makes it out to be.

With all that being said, I believe that blizzard purposefully released the more 'random effect' card first and that the yet to be released ones will be more mild.

As the poster above me stated, its human nature to remember bad moments a little better than the good. In reality you get just as amazing stuff to happen as often as you blow your own self up. It's called 'Negativity Bias'.

Not the most amazing of cards, especially when seeing that Demonfire isn't used much already. On the flip side, the damage and buff are nothing to scoff at, being able to take out some very troublesome 5 health minions.

The main upside is that it's versatile, your not limited to only dealing damage, or only the buff. The ability to choose what will work best in certain situations adds some decent value.

Currently, demons don't have enough going for them to really make good use, but there will probably be a good place for it in the expansion meta.

posted a message on Help me with some basics of deck building ?

A good strong deck for newer players that have a good grasp of basic concepts, but don't want a boring aggro/rush deck, try Priest. The majority of the cards you use come with just leveling to 10. As for cards they don't come with, the core ones you need to make, are relatively cheap. And the best part, basic Priest play is simple, yet engaging, while also have a high skill cap giving a lot more room for improvement. Priest is also very versatile, able to handle a large amount of different decks.

Its by far my favorite class, and is so much fun controlling the board, the feeling  you get when you know they think they just made a great play and you turn around and deal with it instantly is great. If you would like a basic card only build I could make one, and give you a list of what cards to make based on their value. Keep in mind though, GvG is very close, and any decks you do build now, might be awful next month.

Edit: Some general things to help with building decks are out there in the internet, a simple search should find you some good reading material. Although you can read all you want, you will only learn from experience, trial and error.

The basic principles are always the same though. Make sure your mana curve is relatively smooth meaning, you want most of your minions/spells to be 4-5 mana cost or less. Starting with 1 mana cards, generally sloping up to a peak at 4-5 mana, then sloping back down to 6-7 cost cards. Too many high cost cards, while 'looking better' will cause you to have nothing to play in the early turn, and you will be dead before you get to play them. The opposite is the same, too many low costs, if the game drags on too long, their minions will out do yours.

As for what cards are good, I suggest looking at http://www.icy-veins.com/hearthstone/arena-card-rankings-spreadsheets , Those rankings are meant for use in arena, but for the most part hold up true, depending on your actual core build.

It's probably happened several times to him, just never noticed or payed enough attention to it to noticed it actually kills it, rather than just burning the card like you would expect.

Sad that the HS client is supported on anything smaller than 6in the Galaxy Note. Maybe in the future, not sure how the UI is handled. Looks like I might need to buy a tablet here soon.

posted a message on Bad Manners (BM) in Hearthstone

I typically enjoy the friendly/competitive banter back and fourth. There is a point where your spamming and just being rude or purposefully letting it rope every turn. But I highly enjoy when there is a close game, and a 'Sorry' after their good play, then Ill respond with 'Well played', and counter it, then they typically respond 'Well Played' too.

More often then not, (as long as you say 'Well Played' after their good plays and don't over emote) this kind of friendly taunting doesn't escalate to true BM. I have had quite a few add me (or vise-versa) after the game to only say GG or ask about a play in the game. Rarely does anyone rage. Its really just knowing how much is enough and being respectful.

I also generally never concede, if its a long game and hard won for them, I let em get the kill. I've met some ragers, but not enough to care. My guess is some of your are getting mad to easily and emote back in a hostile way which only causes them to escalate.

posted a message on GvG Power Creep

Something to keep in mind also is that once all the new cards have been released, and the masses find the game breaking combinations/builds, Blizzard will do further balancing. So after the first couple months, some of these cards will be changed. Don't over worry yourself and others at this point in time.

I do have similar worries that with all these new aggro cards, (and lack of control cards) that the meta will drift further towards Zoo/Aggro decks. Control is by far my favorite. But there is still 2/3s of the GvG set left to be seen. At this point were starting to have a clearer view of what the new META brings, but not enough for the current level of worry.

Without a solid removal card, this could really wreck the board.... 9 health is a lot for its effect.

I'm just astonished by this card, while the 2 health ensures it dies to almost anything. Without overload, and the other cards a shaman has like rockbiter and flametongue... Shamans are going to become very scary. Wouldn't call it OP at this point, but definitely good.
