posted a message on Guide to New Duplicate Protection System

Thanks SCWT_FTW.  Do you know how gold cards fit into this?  Specifically, if I dust a gold card of a rare set (and don't then currently have 2 of that rare card), can that card still be eligible for duplication production from non-golden rares I open?  If it's not, it almost completely nerfs disenchanting golden cards, because odds are you'll never be able to fill back in with non-golden versions.  This would dramatically impact the amount of dust we're able to get to fill in our collections.

This is really too bad.  Any suggestions on other resources to use to get a sense of the meta.  I can usually only fit in couple games a day so I'd value a resource to give me a sense of the meta.

posted a message on Will disenchanted gold cards be replaced with non-dupe rule?

With the new non-dupe rule, does anybody know if disenchanting gold cards will it still leave open a "missing" slot so that I can fill in my collection with by opening packs and relying on the non-dupe rule?  For example, if I have 1 non-gold and 1 gold card, and I disenchant the gold card, will the card still be considered "missing" so I can collect the missing copy with packs?  Or will disenchanting the gold card mean that it won't be considered "missing" and thus I'll only get it randomly after I have all other cards of the rarity?

I'd like to know because I I'd rather get the dust from the gold card, but I do want a complete (non-gold) collection.  Ideally, I'd like to dust all my gold cards and still fill in my entire collection with non-gold cards under the duplication protection.

If it doesn't work that way, there's little point in dusting gold cards because I'd need to fill in the their slot and realistically won't ever naturally collect the missing card without duplication protection.

    Thanks.

posted a message on Need advice for disenchanting

I think the theory is that if you dust your golden cards before the "non-duplicate" change takes place, they will NOT be counted as "in your collection", so you are guaranteed to eventually be awarded them as you fill in your collection.  But if you dust your golden cards after the "non-duplicate" change takes place, then they WILL be counted "in your collection", so you won't be guaranteed to get them again (it will be completely random if you get them again).  So now is a chance to unlock the dust in your golden cards and still eventually get them back, due to the non-duplicate update.

I'd be interested in the community's comments.  I operated on this believe when they made the announcement and dusted all my golden cards where I didn't already have 2 non-golden.

The other thing to keep in mind is the timing Blizzard will count what's "in your collection" - which to my knowledge nobody actually knows.  Today is the day change is supposed to go into effect, though as of now it doesn't look like it's rolled out yet.
