With the new non-dupe rule, does anybody know if disenchanting gold cards will it still leave open a "missing" slot so that I can fill in my collection with by opening packs and relying on the non-dupe rule? For example, if I have 1 non-gold and 1 gold card, and I disenchant the gold card, will the card still be considered "missing" so I can collect the missing copy with packs? Or will disenchanting the gold card mean that it won't be considered "missing" and thus I'll only get it randomly after I have all other cards of the rarity?
I'd like to know because I I'd rather get the dust from the gold card, but I do want a complete (non-gold) collection. Ideally, I'd like to dust all my gold cards and still fill in my entire collection with non-gold cards under the duplication protection.
If it doesn't work that way, there's little point in dusting gold cards because I'd need to fill in the their slot and realistically won't ever naturally collect the missing card without duplication protection.
I think the answer is yes. I say that because for my season-end reward I got a golden Cold Blood when I only had one non-golden version of it (I dusted them after the nerf).
This means that they don't treat golden and non-golden differently for determining how many copies of a card you have.
the non dupe rule just started and doesnt take into account what you ve dissed long time ago.
as for me, I also sometimes get a golden card first that I would like to dissenchant but obviously cannot if that one counts towards the rule. Haven't found clear information on that so far. Guess we need to wait and see..
Truth is nobody knows as there has been no clear statement from Blizzard. There are plenty of threads on the subject but only best guesses in there...
Normal/golden: It should take it into account but doesn't seem to do so
Season rewards: Is there a non dup applied there or not?
When does this start (for disenchantment): best guess is since the patch but unconfirmed
We should still be allowed to disenchant our golden cards without losing the advantage of the no dup rule (at least, I do think so). Will we? This is a good example we're left in the dark. Right now, it might still be ok to disenchant golden and get normal under the no dup but it isn't supposed to work that way. Still it seems to do...
I can confirm this, I am at Platinum 4 now and all the rares and epic I got (like 10 cards already) were missing for having the full 2 set. In fact I am a returning player (not playing like a year ago) and i disenchant all my gold cards, causing full 2 sets of common, rares and epic to be at the end only 1 copy. The ranking rewards only give me those cards I am missing.
The epic card I received was a Sea Giant. I had 2 (one normal, 1 golden), I disenchant it last week and the Platinum 10 reward was this normal card completing the full 2 set.
Season rewards: Is there a non dup applied there or not?
Im pretty sure that it takes it into account because my rewards all been cards I was missing. For end of season and climbing the ladder.
Even my golden cards (end of season reward) were all cards where I was missing a second one. So I assume that golden and normal doesnt matter for the rule.
Even when I bought packs from old expansions I usually got a card I was missing completely, even more strange I got it twice! Again for another card (one of the new classic cards) I got one by laddering and one from opening a pack.

If you’ve ever had a card, it counts as “collected.”

Will they give away hall of fame cards too?
