posted a message on How Have the Tribes Fared in MSG?

Obviously Pirates have seen a revival, but which of Azeroth's other many races saw a boost, and which fell behind?

I've had a great time playing Murloc Shaman (I'm awful, I know) and Beast Hunter is fun (sadly noncompetitive though).

posted a message on Best class after expansion? Vote!

Buff Paladin is a blast, but it (and the rest of Paladin right now) are too slow to work well in constructed. Paladin got no viable archetypes, and the ones that it had before got steamrolled by the super powerful control/midrange decks. Speaking of, Jade Rogue is incredibly powerful, and it really hit everyone from left field. I've had a blast playing it, and it really counters the meta.

Here's how I would remake the card.  Its basically the same thing as the pre-nerf version but is on "played" cards rather than summoned, stopping the grim patron combo after the first guy and on any other summoned tokens which were the real problems, but still preserving the spirit of the card.

Here's the problem with this edit: It doesn't negate the charge if their attack goes higher. The problem with patron wasn't the Patron alone, but rather the combo of Patron with Frothing Berserker. A 16+ attack frothing on turn 8 or 9 plus a slurry of 3 attack minions to clear any taunt in the way?  And it was the same thing with Worgen OTKs. Two 8 attack wind fury minions or one 11-14 attack windfury minion are problems. It's not the playing alone but the burst of damage from increase.
Yeah dude the Patrons were just an activator, it doesn't matter if they can charge. Warsong was broken as hell because of Frothing Berserker, and this edit wouldn't help that. OP's would. With a little rewording, the OP's buff would be great and not easily abusable

posted a message on I can buy one Legendary- Advice appreciated!

Hi! I have all important epics/rares/commons, and I'm just filling out the corners of my legendary collection. I have all tier 1 legendaries, so I'm thinking fun value now.

I have no Druid or Rogue legendaries, and I main Renolock and really any control deck. I don't /need/ anything, so any advice would be great! Thanks!

Uh what do you mean? The order you take the effects in is the order in which they will trigger

^^^ Yes and this was the issue that Wednesday's hotfixes worked on. You no longer deal 6 damage to all minions->freeze two enemy minions-> end up freezing a dead minion and end up getting SMOrced. I think it's fine as is :)

posted a message on Understanding shadowstep

I'd like to see those videos, because that is not at all how Shadowstep works. The act of returning a minion to your hand clears it of any buffs/status effects, so Unearthed Raptor would not copy anything more than it would the first time, and Twilight Drake wouldn't change whatsoever (It'd actually get -1 health due to losing the Shadowstep that was in your hand before)

What you can do, however, is chain raptors. If you play a raptor on, say, a Jade Swarmer, then play another raptor on THAT raptor, then shadowstep the first raptor, play it on the SECOND raptor, then shadowstep the second raptor, and play it on the THIRD raptor, you'll summon a good 6-7 Golems when that one raptor dies. Or something like that, it gets complicated.

But if you could link those videos, I'd love to see them :)

Would you put a 10 mana COMBO card in your deck? You have to be joking right now.
So in other words, Entomb on a body doesn't make sense. So why did you make the card Entomb on a body?
It's not entomb. If you kill Kidnapper you also kill the minion you "entombed". And kidnapper has 3 health. And again entomb doesn't say combo.
It IS Entomb, IF you Shadowstep/Transform/Silence the Kidnapper.
He's trying to be nice and keep from telling you that your edit is garbage, really.
So you're talking to me about using 3 cards (card to activate the combo + kidnapper + card to silence/transform/shadowstep the kidnapper) to put an enemy minion in your hand and draw nothing next turn.
Worse than ConvertEntomb and I don't see anyone doing that...
Bro, you just proved how bad this "balance" is. It's STILL not playable because of the sheer cost of the combo. If Assassinate sees next to no competitive play, than neither will this. Fact is, Sap is even too slow for a lot of constructed decks, so a 6-mana version with a trash body will still be trash.

posted a message on Should I Craft Chillmaw?

Unbeknownst to me, I joined the game on TGT launch week. Being a brand new player who had no idea how anything worked, I didn't invest any time or money in buying TGT packs. This means that even though I have a complete classic/WotOG collection and a near-complete MSG collection, I have only about half of TGT (about 50 packs worth). I have all of the commons and rares, and all of the meta epics and legendaries.
The big one I'm missing is Chillmaw. I'm on the fence about crafting it, especially with MSG introducing lots of really powerful legendaries. Should I shell out the dust to craft Chillmaw, or is it better to invest in new expansions and just ignore the card?

Other than that one dude, everyone's been awesome and nice and totally offset the uber-negativity that Blizzard players are known for.

TL;DR some of the community is super awesome, don't lose hope :)

posted a message on Fixing the broken cancer meta: quitting HS Play Mode.
    Quote from aleathas >>

Oh boys. Let me put it this way. First of all, for the first two days of meta, I played HS more than 20+ hours as I was so excited about it and managed to reach Rank 8 as a Priest Player. The point of my OP is NOT to demonstrate how strong the jade mechanic is. It is about the way the HS goes. People say like oh this counters this and that counters that. Of course, some sort of decks will always an advantage over others and this totally makes sense, in fact I like the idea of it, YET as the new expansion arrived, the winner of the matches are already determined before turn 1. If you are aggro against Jade, you most likely win, if you are jade against control, you win or if you are control, you are probably gonna win against pirate if you draw perfectly - with taunts, early board clear or heal. Besides, there were some people out here that tells me to learn the game. Well, I played and tested every single priest deck out there for two years. (Even tried OTK priest and it was indeed the only game that I have won against a good jade idol druid player and I was a bit lucky as he didn't go for armor with Feral Rage.). So I feel obligated to repeat myself here. It is not about how strong certain type of decks against Priests. For instance, OTK decks were also good against Priests such as anyfhing can happen Pally, and I never complained about that since there were certain moves that you had to such as Entombing Warleader and pray that your opponent will not draw third or fourth anyfhing.

This is NOT how HS supposed to be. So it is entirely a black or white at the moment. The type of deck you play has become much more important and determining than the though/skill or RNG that you put into the game to win. Besides, it is just so easy to design such a mechanic: X totally counters Y, Y totally counters Z and Z totally counters X. Terrible.

And lastly, for those, who believe 1 legendary out of 40 packs is normal, I have nothing to say to you. You clearly never opened a pack two years ago, the amount of good card that you could get was much fair, here I merely got duplicates and had 1.2k dust to earn through disenchanting, despite the fact that it was my first MSG pack opening.

What are you even saying? That packs were better "back in the good old days"? What the hell dude
Your bad luck this expansion doesn't mean the game is broken or Blizzard is messing with the rarities. Get over it.

Bro, it's the first two days of meta. For all you know Pirate warrior's a fad and in a few weeks we'll never see it again.

This, so much this. Do people remember Old Gods release? We're going to get the same kind of shake-up in the Spring as we did in Standard, the same kind of shake-up we did after Kara, and the same kind of shake-up we're seeing after Gadgetzan with each one having a large/small impact based on the number of different cards rotating in or out.
This is a meta in the sense that this is what ladder currently looks like, but in no way should this going to reflect the end result of what people would consider the Gadgetzan meta. Remember when N'Zoth Paladin and C'thun Druid were the scourge of the ladder? How did that turn out?
I also played in those metas. AGAIN, this is not about how strong the decks are. This is about how the mechanic is BROKEN. Priest was also weak against other previous dominating classes but at least with proper order and some luck, there were games that I had won because there was a POSSIBILITY, which no longer exists in this meta. I never complained about how a type of deck might counter another one, in fact that makes sense but at the moment no current priest deck can possibly defeat jade druids unless the druid player is so newbie. I won many games with my Reno priest in this meta so it is not about just keep encountering warriors or druids. As I had mentioned the game has become pay to win. I bought 40 packs and got only 1 legendary out of it. This is nothing but an insult. I also like HS but can no longer tolerate Blizzard.
I can't believe people are STILL talking about the game being pay to win. There is no conspiracy by Blizzard to make you buy more packs, your luck just sucks. BECAUSE THIS IS LITERALLY A CARD GAME. Luck is a core element in ANY card game, and sure it sucks that you have fewer flashy new cards than (what seems like) everyone else, but it doesn't mean Blizzard is corrupt or that the game is shit.

There's a term in psych called selection bias, where we are more likely to remember and continue remembering a given event if it fits with our narrative. In this case, your "bias" is Blizzard screwing you over. That bias means you are less likely to remember the times you have good luck, and more likely to remember bad luck.
Not to be an ass, but none of us are important enough to target, we are all just playing a game that has *ALWAYS* been RNG based. Take your salt to the therapy thread, and keep actual critique and discussion here.

I hate the current meta aswell, especially pirate warrior.

But I won't stop playing Hearthstone. I admit that I'm simply addicted to the game.

I will never, ever resort to playing cancer though.

This is my case. I wont play aggro just because its boring as hell, just like Jade Idol Druid, too boring.
I play to have fun, and i have fun with Renolock, Reno Mage, Dragon Priest, Buffadin, Buff Hunter and such stuff. I'll keep playing them, and i couldnt care less if i lose, but when i win it was totally worth it.

posted a message on Fixing the broken cancer meta: quitting HS Play Mode.

There's no such thing as a cancer deck. There are braindead decks (Midrange Shaman) and there are frustrating decks (Patron Warrior) but every single archetype has a counter, and every archetype has its heyday. You can't honestly expect your pet deck to always be viable, just like you can't expect any other archetype to never be viable (like what people think this expansion will do to aggro). Metas flow and shift, especially at first.

I understand your frustration, and in some ways I'm there with you. But saying that the game's developers are sadistic bureaucrats who either don't care or hate what you consider "fun" gameplay is simply ridiculous. Not everyone sees the beauty of HS in the same way as you or I, and the sooner we realize that then the sooner we can adapt.

Leave if you want, no one's stopping you. But for the love of God don't be an ass about it. If the game frustrates you, then it's your right to leave and not give the company you hate any more money. But encouraging the rest of us (some of whom love this expansion so far) to abandon ship because of your salt is a little insulting and very degrading.
