posted a message on Dalaran Wing 3 Unlocked! Priest & Rogue Heroes Now Available

So far ... this is the best single-player content.

More replay than Witchwood or Kobolds IMO, and the WTF has been few and far between compared to some bosses (looks at Rastakhan) but I need to see if it's possible to win with more than one class (it's not the Adventures of Rakanishu, is it? He seems far better than the hunter and shaman).

Midway through a priest run with the endless deck (play a card, get 2 1-mana copies inserted into the deck), draw 2 per hand, quest AND C'thun mixed in, and C'thun and the quest start in my opening mulligan. I either win with C'thun or fatigue, but I have to worry about milling myself or early aggro.

Had a 28-point C'thun FTW so far, but the little room for minions has made for interesting decisions. Barely beat the rogue boss that sends out 3 random backstabs to minions.

I'm tempted to see Luna's Pocket Galaxy in a highlander control mage kit in WIld.

Why yes, it obviously has the potential to bring forth/back a Death Knight as it did in Warcraft 3 -- thus the "Wild" and "legendary Warlock card" specifics. And a Dreadlord, too (Mal'Ganis).

posted a message on The Great Dalaran Heist is GOOD

K&C Dungeon Run was the first, and until this Heist is completed, probably the best of the new format.

The Witchwood is a close second. More refined than K&C, but shorter and how anyone beats the end with certain characters seems to be everyone's problem (for those who didn't luck out or persevere).

Boomsday was imaginative, but sadly a once-and-done. Same with Knights of the Frozen Throne, but have to admit Arthas was the best prize offered since they stopped awarding actual deck cards in solo. Best paladin skin too.

League of Explorers was probably the best of the old-style single-player content, even better than KoFT.

Rumble Run's difficulty went from EZ-mode to WTF IS THIS BS in absurd ways. Worst IMO.

posted a message on (POLL) Your Current Gold Strategy ...

Generally, I go two months for an expansion (release month and following) before going into save-all mode for the next expansion, but having just landed Scargill (BOO, AGGRO SUCKS), I'm going to start early. I might not be as lucky as I was getting legendaries in the RoS expansion.

Curious how other people are operating. Are you saving up for the next expansion?

I was going to buy the adventure too as I actually enjoyed the freebie, but then noticed Steam had a Warhammer 40K sale ... Inquisitor add-on and/or Mechanicus > Zayle and tiny chance of another legendary. Maybe I'll hold off on the add-on for Dalaran Heist.

posted a message on Spend gold on more RoS packs or start saving?

I just landed a legendary (Scargill -- I would dust it if it didn't have a chance to return in later packs, eff murlocs and all aggro garbage) and now have to decide ...

    1. Stick to my strategy of collecting packs from a new expansion for two months before going into save gold mode, even though the odds of getting another legendary in say seven packs are low. And get dust for maybe one more legendary. I did land two legendaries within 10 packs, though.

    2. Start saving gold now for the next expansion.

Kept my numbers sheet from opening day of RoS ... I had pretty good luck. Out of 128 packs so far, I'm missing only seven legendaries (Chef Nomi, Barista Lynchen, Fel Lord B. and maybe Togwaggle are the only ones I'd care about). Have a copy of at least one epic except Magic Carpet and Crystalsong Portal and missing some rares from rogue and hunter (but I don't play aggro or smorc, so IDGAF).

Current Top 10 Most Wanted Legendary Cards:

    1. Chef Nomi (have a feeling this might fall wayside in next expansion)
    2. Barista Lynchen (have the opposite feeling of above)
    3. Oondasta*
    4. Krag'wa, the Frog* (living well without it in control shaman)
    5. The Black Knight*
    6. Akali, the Rhino* (doing well without it in control warrior)
    7. King Mukla* (for mill/spell decks; dusted it for Sylvanas back in Naxx)
    8. Hex Lord Malacrass*
    9. Countess Ashmore*
    10. Zul'jin*
Missing the Cut: Heistbaron Togwaggle, Fel Lord Betrug, Prince Liam (Hakkar Paladin hope)

*= from packs no longer being purchased

posted a message on Kripparian Talks The Best Hearthstone Rise of Shadows Ladder Decks [Week 5]

Decks for smorc/aggro vermin, brought to you by the guy who says he hates smorc/aggro vermin.

Guess Kripp's bomb warrior got too old for the meta. Also surprised he hasn't gone "Control Warrior is back, boys!" as he hated jades and other cards that kept the long game/fatigue factor strategy off the ladder.

/remember when Kripp did complex combo/OTK decks on the ladder and people could have fun with those?

posted a message on Possible Nerfs for Rise of Shadows

Conjurer's Calling -- Now makes pairs of the mana cost SPENT. Drop a 4-mana Mountain Giant, get a pair of 4-mana cards on Conjurer's Calling. I'm OK if they do this with shaman's Far SIght and the voodoo card as well (I play both decks). Add: Muckmorpher wouldn't be affected as the card already turns INTO a nerfed down version of a higher mana card already (a 4/4 Ysera).

To me, warrior hero isn't the one to look at. It's Zul'jin that needs to be addressed, as it is a one-card pre-nerfs Yogg/Shudderwock-level pull-a-victory-out-of-my-losing-arse b.s. with the twinspell wyverns, Animal Companion and the +3/+3 beast buff and make copies spell. And that's not even factoring secrets on top of that. Even the cubelock deathknight Gul'dan didn't have it this good.

    1. Runs as a pair of discover effects.

    2. Targeting is available in each phase of the spell.

    3. The Priest spell will fire first. If you were to pair say Mind Control with Conjurer's Calling and cast it on a Mage's Mountain Giant, you will get the MC effect, Conjurer's Calling on the giant, and a regular single-use copy of Conjurer's Calling.

    4. Card's values recall the costs of the Netherspite Historian and Drakonid Operative's health and attack. The armor also works for Warrior matches.

    5. Does not need a dragon in hand.

posted a message on Rise of Shadows Developer Q&A - All Answers

Mage literally cloning giants turn after turn needs to be addressed. With the giants and priest 12 minion rolling in, the spell's randomness factor is moot.

Either the twinspell goes by the cost of the card when played (meaning a 4-cost mountain giant gets you, well, a pair of four-cost minions on the twinspell) or ... how about diluting that pool by adding say, some legendary 12-cost 3/3 minions only worth a damn for battlecry?

I played with and against a similar philosophy deck (Muckmorpher Shaman with Big Bad Archmage) and it feels a lot more fair to play against than mage's mega giant spam. It's also a lot more fun, if you got the dust.

/mage is vulnerable now though without armor and health gain, give it that. Glass cannon feel, as they were in WoW.

//Autosquelch should've been brought in when they took out sorry.

    1. I've always wanted to see Deathwing with his hookah from the cancelled Warcraft Adventures.

    2. A way to infuriate chiefly rez/wild big priests, mages, warlocks, hunters (it would activate on using the hero card) and druids. It can also be used by the priest at a later round to cause a board clear by using the other copy of this card or Lazul's Scheme if need be. The 10 turns allows it to be possibly forgotten or miscalculated by the opponent.

    3. Ten turns would be five to each player, starting with the opponent's following draw. Double casting this in one turn would summon four doomsayers, two on each side.

posted a message on Best time to Shudderwok to replay Elysia?

Most warriors don't package pandas for Elysiana, so if you manage to get that far, Shudderwock might be your chance. MIGHT. Control warrior has the edge in the matchup.

It won't be any advantage if Kripp's turtle priest build manages to be viable, as it tries to seance Elysiana at least once, possibly twice.
