posted a message on Current status with the rewards track

I don't complain because it's just a game, but here's how the rewards experience was to me.

Before the changes, I could complete 2 quests in a single game and get, like, 80 or 90 gold. I could play another game, complete the third quest, and end up with around 120 gold in less than an hour.

I am a player that will never grind. I will never play more than an hour a day. For the amount of time that I am willing to invest, I get nearly ZERO gold a day on average. Completing quests gives me points instead, which are abstract to me because I'm not invested in the rewards track.

Also, my favorite game mode is arena, so I would rather get gold than packs. If packs are a part of the rewards system (which I think is the case, but I'm not totally sure), then I am getting less of the rewards that I want to play the game mode that I prefer. I can't turn packs into arena runs.

Now I play less than an hour a week because I just don't have any motivation. I'm not complaining, but there is definitely something wrong here when it comes to players like me. They catered to players like you, and that's fine, but keep in mind that there are other types of players. With the old system, both of us could enjoy the rewards. Nowadays, I don't think that's the case.

posted a message on Grandmasters Week 1 Recap - Results & Decklists - Firebat Controversy

The Firebat controversy really doesn't look good on paper for Blizzard. Presumably the rules were written and followed to the letter, because if they just pulled a thousand dollar fine out of their butts, then that's ridiculous - especially for a (presumably) first offense. I'm a fan of Firebat, and hope he bounces back from this.

posted a message on Winning on Turn 1!

I personally don't see the issue in winning in turn 1. it is irrelevant if you win on turn 1, 2 or 12, the issue is when the deck win too much. It is an aggro deck, if you have the hand of the God, it is fine. What matter is the win/rate when it is too high, this deck has not a too high win/rate. 53,5% , so it is perfectly fine.

The problem with this mentality is that it's only a 30 card deck. If you had to fill a deck with 3000 cards and it was EXTREMELY unlikely to get the hand of the God, then I could appreciate that person's luck. Let's go to the other extreme: What if the deck was only 5 cards? Wouldn't winning on turn one seem trivial in a 5 card deck? There aren't that many cards in standard, and the fact that they made stuff like this not only possible, but relatively probable as well doesn't make me want to play this game. If you enjoy it, fine, but I don't really understand that mentality. The opponent made one decision that game, which is the same number of decisions that he or she would make if they were playing Rock, Paper, Scissors. Keep that in mind when you try to see things from your opponents perspective.

The Talos Principle is my favorite game.

I have the most hours spent playing Fallout 4.

As a kid, it was Final Fantasy 8.

posted a message on BG emotes and Blizzard's identity

I just played Battlegrounds today after not playing for several weeks and I didn't realize until now how silly it is that even emotes are locked behind a paywall.

Here's the issue I have with this: Blizzard always encourages a social gaming experience -  They want you have lots of "friends." They want you to know what your "friends" are doing at all times so you can join them. They even have daily quests related to interacting with your "friends," and that's fine. So the fact that they don't want you to be able to communicate with your fellow Battlegrounds players unless you get the perks annoys me. I think the emotes they have for Battlegrounds are garbage and don't really accomplish anything because of how non-specific they are in this game mode, but not being able to do ANYTHING just seems...anti-Blizzard.

posted a message on What was the most underrated card on launch ever?

    Maybe Magic Carpet?

Also, I can remember people thinking Deathstalker Rexxar was cute, and not the one-card army that it became.

Also Trump gave Defile 1-star, but you know...

posted a message on Sick and tired of Leeroy shenanigans

The reason you see Leeroy so much is because it's the best at what it does, and it's a neutral card. I wouldn't mind seeing it hall-of-fame'd, but you have to understand that there's always going to be a best source of direct damage. If you get rid of Leeroy, be ready to get smashed in the face by Reckless Rocketeer tomorrow. It doesn't matter if it costs one more because you're going to complain no matter what turn you lose on.

Be reasonable. Leeroy costs MORE than Fireball, and ANY taunt minion prevents it from getting through. PLUS it's a legendary, so you can only have one in your deck. Plus, the whelps being summoned means that it counters itself. Leeroy can ONLY be used as a finisher, so of course it's going to be good at what it does.

People have to accept that there's always a certain percentage of games that they're going to lose, and a certain percentage of those lost games are going to seem unfair. We're LUCKY that, in today's meta, control is a viable strategy. If Leeroy NEVER clinched a game, that would also be unbalanced.

Love the art and the idea behind it. Might be very susceptible to silence though.

posted a message on Forced Levels in Ranking

It can suck, feeling like you're out of place, but I'm pretty sure that, if you're still at rank 15 by the end of the month, you'll drop down to a lower rank.

Having the ability to toggle the rank floors on and off would allow players to abuse the system by dropping to low ranks, where they can feed on lower skill level players. This new ranked system allows players to remain at a rank that reflects their skill level, even if they suffer several bad beats in a row.

I think everyone was happy when this ranked system change was announced, so I don't see it going away anytime soon.

posted a message on craft highlander hunter????

A wise man once said: Do it. Just do it. Don't let your dreams be dreams. Yesterday, you said tomorrow. So just do it. Make your dreams come true. Just do it. Some people dream of success, while you're gonna wake up and work hard at it. Nothing is impossible. You should get to the point where anyone else would quit, and you're not gonna stop there. No, what are you waiting for? Do it! Just do it! Yes you can. Just do it.

posted a message on Burgle Guide - 62% to Legend

Ethereal Peddler's my favorite card! I don't play wild all that much - are you that confident that a 5 mana 5/6 is too slow? The thing I love about the Peddler is that it enables unusual plays in Valeera the Hollow mode. You can play two 6 mana cards in one turn (with one being discounted), or play two Peddlers and any spell 4-mana or below for free. I think I much prefer Peddler to Huckster. Maybe it's too slow if you're not playing it on curve, but otherwise...

posted a message on Nerfs Suggestions for the Current Meta

Walking Fountain to 9 mana. It needs to be more mana than Al'Akir, which is less stats and doesn't heal. It does a better job in every way except going face.

Conjurer's Calling should be giving you 2 minions that cost 1 less, this way it gets less powerful on repeated use, as opposed to just resembling wild Giants Hunter. I hate this card with a passion and it takes great patience not to obliterate it to, say, 6 mana. Using it twice a turn is criminal, and should only be allowed with a Sorcerer's Apprentice on the board, but instead I'll offer the first nerf to stay in the spirit of the card.

Zul'jin shouldn't replenish secrets. Even if they're easy to play around, I think Zul'jin is just too soul-crushing.

    And Warrior...
