The only algorithm is Activi$ion melking dry u Teenies every week with weekly HS Skins, greedy Bundles and what not.
For a "game" that will never eeever offer any sort of material return, lul.
Which games offer back material return though? I've bought many a dlc or add on, cosmetic or otherwise in many different games. If cosmetic skins are what keeps something feeling fresh for someone and that's what they enjoy, why is it any different to a dlc with an alternative clan/race/skins etc. Even if you buy some dlc and get ten hours of extra content, you aren't getting anything other than that time spent playing and if skins have a similar impact for some people, why is it so different?
You seem to be taking something really common place in the gaming industry and trying to twist it into some evil practice that hearthstone is engaging in.
Why are some people so obsessed with what other people spend their money on? What do you do for a living, is your company a charity? I suspect that if you do work, you're probably a huge hypocrite. You go to work because you get paid, you play your part in churning out more and more profit for your organisation, you want it to grow so you can increase your quality of life, buy nicer things, take good holidays. You may even get a bonus if your company performs well, that's really normal too. I look out for my bonus each year, it's performance driven and relies on business growth. How am I any different to every employee at Blizzard? I just want my company to do well, grow and provide me with better opportunities, money and development.

I receive requests to fill out surveys from Blizzard from time to time. They are usually fairly short, and ask the usual questions you would expect like what genres of games I play the most, what game features are important to me, etc. Today however, I received a different kind of survey. To my surprise it asked me about my experience/opinion for many different games, including non-Blizzard games like Pokemon, Metal Gear Solid, Crash Bandicoot, League of Legends, etc. The survey also inquired about how much time I spend gaming on various devices. I was later asked to rank how much I liked various Blizzard characters and subsequently how interested I would be in playing a game featuring that character. They also asked which characters I would like featured on merch, specifically T-shirts and collectible statues. At the end of the survey there was an even an option to post a video response about who my favorite character was, and why. All together the survey collected about 20 pages worth of data, much longer then previous surveys I've completed.
I posted this mostly as a PSA to check and see if you've received the survey and because I think it's interesting to speculate about what Blizzard could be working on next. As far as I know Diablo 4 (and Diablo Immortal) and Overwatch 2 are currently in development, but maybe Blizzard wants to collect a lot of data to decide what their next project is. The merch questions also gave me the idea that maybe they are trying to gauge interest in new merch to be sold at Blizzcon, but that seems like they'd be cutting it pretty close since BC is only a few months away and design and manufacturing takes awhile.
What are everyone's thoughts? What kind of game are you hoping for from Blizzard? I'm hoping for even more continued support of StarCraft 2 and new modes and features for Hearthstone.

Very different kind of Hearthpwn article. I enjoyed it a lot.

Nice looking deck but I’d say you definitely wanna run Dr Boom even in a Tempo deck. One card that allows you to pivot into control warrior and infinite value if the situation calls for it.

Much better to have more stats or a battlecry this early in the game

Seems worse then brawl in most cases. I don’t think you wanna run whirlwind just because of this card.
4
Not enough stats to justify that downside

Hmm, not bad, but not great either. Usually you don’t wanna wait around 10 turns to play your big pile of stats.

Damn that’s a big boy

For anyone who is interested, I did the math for how likely you are to get the one hero power you really want. Because you can never be offered the same discover option multiple times, the first choice has a 1/9 chance of being your desired power, second choice has a 1/8 chance, and your 3rd choice has a 1/7 chance. If you multiply the denominators together to find a single common denominator then you get 504. When you adjust your numerators accordingly you end up with 56/504, 63/504 and 72/504. The sum of these 3 probabilities is 191/504. Plug that into a calucalator and you get .37896.
TLDR: You have about a 38% chance of finding the exact hero power you are hoping for.
