posted a message on Iron Juggernaut, Brann Bronzebeard deck

After a really cool Tavern Brawl game where I got Iron Juggernaut to shuffle some Mines in my opponent's deck, I really want to build a deck that centers around controlling the board and then finishing the opponent off with Mines to the face.

Obviously Brann Bronzebeard and Youthful Brewmaster are included. But what other cards would be good for this strategy? Antique Healbot and Shieldmaiden are amazing with Brann, and heal helps me survive and stabilize.

How long is the animation time for a Mine exploding? Maybe I should go for the ultimate combo and add Nozdormu. Taking 10 damage to the face is much more effective when you lose your turn and get beaten down by a giant dragon immediately after it.

    Any other ideas?

posted a message on Decks Assemble - worst brawl ever!!!

I really enjoyed one game where I made a deck with Iron Juggernaut. I think I shuffled three mines into his deck in total. I never saw any effects because I couldn't see when my opponent replaced cards with Mines but I won that game and there were definitely some turns where my opponent could do very little before passing (maybe he got two mines or something? :D) I thought it was really interesting and rekindled my love for the Iron Juggernaut for sure.

Thanks for your reactions, guys. Fastbond and Channel are absolutely insane. Channel is one of the few cards that was actually banned for a long time. Not even restricted to one copy per deck (the treatment Black Lotus and friends got), but BANNED. Being able to hurl a 20 damage Fireball at your opponent on turn 1 or 2 gave the competitive side of MTG a really bad rep. Channel and Fastbond are still restricted today.

Time Walk does seem like the sickest card out there. But because Ancestral Recall and Black Lotus are the best cards in MTG by a wide margin, it feels counter intuitive to ever pick Time Walk over Ancestral Recall or Black Lotus in a contest of raw power.

I agree. That would be awesome. Here are the cards you requested by the way.

Taking more request of converting fun MTG cards into Hearthstone cards. Also feel free to post your own versions.

I made Wheel of Fortune a Warrior card because Warrior is the 'red' class. Admittedly MTG's red and Hearthstone's red couldn't be more opposites, I thought it would be nice to stay true to the color scheme and promote Face Warrior, haha.

So you just made a bunch of OP cards.....

Yeah, pretty much. But I'd like to hear which one you think is the MOST OP?

I like the old Magic card art.

Me too! For some of them it took me quite a while to find the right artwork.
Most OP is by far time walk, as it was in MTG as well.

It's not half as good in MTG as it is in Hearthstone though. In Hearthstone you get free attacks to the face, free card draw AND a free Mana Crystal. In some MTG games you can only really Time Walk to cycle. You might miss your land drop or don't have any good attacks. At least you untap so it's basically for free.

I do agree that it's probably THE most broken card in Hearthstone. Because you can just attack whatever you want and do it again. In a tempo-based game like this Time Walk at 10 mana would be OP.

Black Lotus is insane also. Now every class gets to Innervate... +1

So I decided to convert the most powerful MTG cards into Hearthstone cards. I deliberately kept the effect and mana cost the same as their Magic versions. The fact that these effects are even more powerful in Hearthstone makes these cards almost painful to look at. Although kind of fun to think about. Might of Oaks is actually pretty crappy in MTG, but it would be insane in Hearthstone. I figured it would make quite the broken Hunter card. Some classes got the short end of the stick but I tried to stay true to the flavor and appropriate classes.

Every class got a power card. Black Lotus is the only neutral card. I'm curious to hear your thoughts on how these cards would influence the game and which cards you think would be the most game breaking?

I hope you guys like the idea and I would appreciate it if you join in on this ridiculous thought experiment.

My golden legendaries have been spread out as far as i remember. (1 fairly early on, 2 middle and 1 a few months before TGT. having played since late beta). I also see sprinkles of golden cards now and then so nothing off there, spread as usual not too often, but i see them as what i'd expect of "gold shiny card" rarity. If i didnt disenchant all of them to craft the regular cards i'd have alot of them already im sure. atleast 1\3rd of em.

    Either i'm lucky or you're unlucky =)

Lucky and unlucky at he same time. I do get more than 1 legendary per 20 packs consistently. But getting a golden card 1 in 7 packs not even close.

I disagree with the first part, because we don't know that for sure.

I agree with the second part.

I'm just curious if other players have had similar experiences. I'm expecting it to be a coincidence. But it never hurts to ask.

posted a message on Are packs tailored to your dusting habits?

I've been playing Hearthstone for 8 months now. I've accumulated over 1450 constructed wins and I've done pretty much all of my daily quests and weekly brawls. I also spent quite a bit of money on the game. So in total I've opened hundreds of packs by now.

I'm happy with the three golden legendaries I pulled but what I find interesting is that I pulled all three in my first two months of playing (very lucky, I know). But ever since I crafted my first golden legendary, I never pulled another golden legendary. I'm talking hundreds of packs here. It's not just golden legendaries, which obviously are extremely rare. I'm talking golden cards in general. I don't get a lot of golden cards at ALL. Plenty of non-golden legendaries and epics (mostly duplicates that end up getting dusted). But golden cards (the ones I keep)? They're really hard to get for me.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not complaining. With the high legendary/epic drops I'm getting I end up getting all the dust I need to craft my golden cards. I do find it a bit unusual. It almost seems like the packs you get are tailored to your dusting habits. I'd like to hear other players' experiences with this.

I would craft Sylvanas Windrunner. Seems to be the best all round legendary from your five picks. Works great in control decks.
