I was looking into some stats as I run the non even version and for some small ups and downs the decks seem to perform almost identically except vs. Miracle and Taunt War - the difference in both ways is a pretty staggering 10%+ difference - namely standard seems to be slightly unfavored vs. Miracle (42%+) while for even it's an outright bad matchup (30%+) - the situation is reversed with Taunt War where the standard iteration is more or less balanced (close to50%) while for even it's a good matchup (65%+) ... I am not entirely sure what causes the differences in stats as I kinda would like to try the even version but with the ladder being full of Taunt Druid and Miracle that both seem to be bad matchups for this deck ...
Same here, it's just not the right time for him as he is ultimately about value and we don't really have a meta currently for this.
Another big factor is that you need to run at least 6+ 1 drops to make it worth ... way to slow for aggro so the only deck left is some kind of secret deck and frankly they are ok but nowhere near Even and Odd in performance.
He may be viable in the future with some strong secret deck though ...
It's still way too early to jump into conclusions but this seems to be the problem with every expansion lately that you have a unbalanced meta for the first month and then something gets nerfed :D ... paly is quite bad but nowhere near MSoG pirate warrior bad ... warlock will probably get some nerfs in a month ^^
Rat is very RNG in many ways - can be great when he pulls Raza or Cube but unfortunately this is a very small % of games ... he is more or less unplayable vs aggro and tempo unless backed up by removal - meaning turn 7+ so it really depends from the majority of the matchups you are facing and at least from what i can tell 60%+ is aggro hence Sentry+Drywhisker will be consistently better and if you are running them i doubt you will have room for another 2 drop.
Very important thing is that you don't actually need it vs Razakus as it is usually enough to burn their 1 mana spells with Geist to dampen the Velen turn and armour up as much as possible (don't forget to keep some removal for Velen) and you have a very good chance to CONSISTENTLY win this matchup without needing any lucky Rats.
The one matchup where they could bring some serious value is Cubelock, with careful planning it's pretty possible to pull Cube, Umbra, Faceless, Prince etc. - making the uphill battle more bearable.
I would say that this deck cannot go so proactive as the giants/drake version in the start which is a pity as a decent percentage of your wins comes from your oponent not being able to deal with 8/8 on turn 4 and then following it up ... I would personally try a version with replaced doomsayers for giants ( arcane or mountain ) as you already have enough clearing power
My simple thoughts: after spending 3 days trying to make Jaina work (I opened Sindragosa) I came to the conclusion that the deck just doesn't fit the meta that is 50% druid :O ... it's way too slow and the win condition takes time to ramp up - If you don't get Jaina in time you are dead, if you can't get value from Jaina you are dead. The current popular decks create big pressure at the start or set you on a clock for big bursts in mid-late game so her typical game plan simply doesn't have the breathing space to be consistent.
The 2 viable decks seem to be secret and quest mage and they both use minimum new cards.
Frost Lich - unfortunately the meta that emerged doesn't favor her too much, she is great against value oriented control and board swarming decks however these are not even 20% of the matchups, the main problem here is that 9 mana is way too much for what she does - they either need to change her to 8 mana so you can use her hero power right away or change her effect to not summon the elemental but freeze all enemies so you can play her when behind ... I really tried to make her work in a control deck with freeze/doom but unfortunately it's very inconsistent as the whole game plan requires you to fist draw her in time and play her before dying which usually doesn't happen
Freeze - should be fine and kicking I didn't play it yet
Secret or Exodia seem to be the way to go currently, secret deals great with everything except shaman/murloc paly while exodia crushes control decks

Miracle Rogue seems to be doing slightly better vs Pally and Lock than tempo - i would try this route maybe ...

Spiteful Summoner Corridor Creeper - Way less value though
Pyroblast may be interesting
There are some Control Variants that don't even run Alana, may be worth a try

From what I have been seeing Secret and Quest mage are doing pretty well ... DK Jaina not that much unfortunately

My 2 cents
