    Quote from Pherosizm >>

Must be an oversight. Source material is quite certain spell school is holy.

    https://classic.wowhead.com/spell=10318/holy-wrath

I don't see why they can't be consistent. I mean, unless there is some bonkers combo you can do with it as a holy spell and the devs thought of it and nipped it before it could run rampant and make everyone annoyed.

Because... you know, they never miss that stuff.

    *Glares at Wretched Tiller.*

Don't forget that they design things 12 months in advance. They are dealing with hundreds and hundreds of cards, combinations as well as anticipating meta months in advance. There may well be very good reasons they have left the tag off certain cards, as someone else has already pointed out. There could be a card due to be released in the last expansion of this year which would interact really unfairly with this and rather than let one card dictate what they can do with it, they just leave that out.

The world would be a far better place if instead of being snarky and having digs about people for oversights or errors, people understood that everybody is fallible, they will miss the odd interaction but given the scale of balance they have to think about, can you lot just not be a little more humble?

This is why I don't really get the point of 'I'm stopping' or 'I'm back' posts. I don't want to sound harsh, I'm glad the expansion has given you fresh excitement for the game but does everyone need to know everytime?

As an ongoing game, almost everyone will break from the game at some point. Sometimes for brief periods, sometimes for long periods, sometimes forever.

Not sure why telling people you'll never know or meet what your current status is though is something some people feel the need to do. Seen it in other games, it's not a dig at you.

Just play or don't play the game as you see fit, maybe let anybody that you might play with regularly know that you're having a break but other than that, just do as you please.

posted a message on What decks do you look forward to to try tonight?

Hero power mage looks good fun and I'll try a control warrior and warlock of some sort, Tamsin Roame looks a great card. Also depends what other legendaries I get with my gold bought packs, I'll usually give most legendary cards a go on launch so I'll throw some of them into something.

Love launch day, very much looking forward to what will be a huge shake up.

    Quote from M0res >>

Normally there would be a couple of good legendaries that I would want in each major expansion, not this time. It all feels a bit rushed and boring.

compare the new set to the gala awaking... gala introduced major changes to the game and strategy, what each expansion should be! This one is is another “just pay to get a bunch of cards” one!

The first expansion after a new cycle is a bit of a reset so it makes sense to pay foundation's for archetypes and then build on them.

Don't forget that GA was the last set of content for that year and wasn't far off the next rotation. Anything truly busted isn't then around for 2 years. These cards will be in standard for the maximum amount of time, they can't set an extremely high power level.

I am personally really, really looking forward to it. The meta will be completely changed and it looks to be more board focused which should help it become more strategy centric. There's quite a few legendaries I'm looking forward to using to be fair.

posted a message on Finishing quests before expansion drops

I have never been into min/maxing of things, far too much effort for me, so I haven't considered gold yield for completing now vs gold on the reward track that you could fast track through in that time period due to the xp from the quests and all that.

I've just decided to split it. I'm playing some BG at the moment because I'm a bit drained of the standard meta. I got the win 5 in BG so I'll do that one because I won't be playing BG for a good while, post expansion. Maybe towards the release of the next mini set at the earliest. But I will be playing a lot of ranked, so I've left the ranked wins because I'll get that one quickly and it will give a boost to the next track. The last weekly one is something like play 50 battle cry, so that will probably be done naturally through BG but if for any reason it doesn't, no worries, I'll finish it after.

posted a message on Looking for achievements partner

I don't understand the whole cheesing achievements with short cuts or a partner. If you do it with a partner in a controlled environment, you haven't achieved anything, you've basically joined a marathon and jumped in a car shortly after the start, got out near the end and jogged over the line.

Sure, you can tell everyone you've run a marathon and sure, you have a medal that suggests you have, but you simply haven't. I personally can't see how you then look at those achievements with any kind of satisfaction.

Is it a bragging rights thing? Does it feel good to complete the game when you've enabled infinite health and ammo? Just seems a bit desperate for attention/validity but I'm open to other reasons people have. If its too hard to do legit, why not accept that and not set yet another false standard for other people to feel they have to be at?

Seen this a lot with ps5 and Demon's Souls... Tons of people sharing how to cheese the platinum. Why bother at all?

certainly not this brainless thingy that works since 2014.

I tend to go for a more fun deck like this one https://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/1378888-chtun-unique-mage-ez-legend

Whilst I far prefer the deck you posted to the one in the OP, I think it's really unhelpful to keep grouping players who like other things and using terms like 'brainless'. All it does is put that person down and from what I've seen, just make them double down, reply in kind and so the toxicity grows evermore.

If everyone liked the same things, the world would be a boring place.

Looks cool, I'm interested in how the game will play out in what now seems a more board focused meta that's being delivered.  I'd enjoy a sort of mod range, curve based hunter that isn't hell bent on sending everything face.

Will give this a shot next week for sure.

     Yeah...small indie company...:)

This meme is getting so old, it's embarrassing, please stop.

Op, this is most likely a balance matter.

Are we really going to let this slide...a balance issue?

Do thematics not matter at all? Ok in that case from now on Holy Wrath and Holy Fire are ICE CREAM SANDWICH spells.

Honestly, IMO Blizzard has been really pathetic on this. I never evcen considered they would mislabel spells so badly, to the point of it being stuipid even having spell types at all. This was an oppotunity to add flavour to the game that actually made sense. Seriously if you can't make the spells fit better into categories than this don't fucking bother and leave it as it is.

...I actually can't believe they messed this up. It seemed so simple.

Your language and tone is just ridiculously over the top, given what we're discussing.

It seems impossible to discuss this game with a majority of the community because you have to go in SO hard on blowing up what are minor issues in the bigger picture.

This place doesn't half get incredibly dramatic about tiny things. Must be nice to have so few actual life problems that it can afford to be such a huge deal.

Like, it's a game, can people just take it a little less seriously? You all act like this is actual life stuff, which plenty of other people are far too affected by to be sitting online and complaining about a few spell schools.... Its funny how it's always the people who hate the game and claim Blizzard are awful etc that seem so damned passionate about it. I've had people call me a fan boy and all sorts, nah mate, I just don't get that bothered about superficial little things in mobile games. I accept that people are fallible and that ultimately, if I don't enjoy my time with the game or don't like the direction it's going, I'm free to do absolutely anything else with my time.

Any reason it's got you typing in bold, swearing and ranting? Like, really? Can you not express yourself in a slightly calmer, more reasonable manner? You're swearing and calling people pathetic.

As for the OP, I'd imagine it has to do with certain interactions such as 'when you play X card, do Y' and certain combinations etc might be an issue.

    Quote from Deftheros >>

I'm F2P sitting on 12.7k gold after buying both shaman and hunter portraits and I only log to finish daily quests. How did you guys end with so little gold?

Did you have gold over from the last expansion? I bought the pass on release and have about 13.5k, haven't spent any of it. I have done the daily and weekly quests (minus one week of weekly quests) but plenty of playing outside of that and haven't spent any gold other than the 2k for the mini set.

To say you're completely f2p and only do your daily quests and have that amount of gold seems a bit odd. You've apparently played less than I have and haven't bought the pass which gives a decent xp boost. I've had a couple of periods in thsi cycle where I've played for a few hours every day and racked up xp.

Makes sense of you've added to an already existing amount of gold, though you have no indication of that. Not saying you're lying, just that you seem to have earned about the same gold as I did, in far less play time, maybe I'm doing something wrong.

As the title says, I cannot just simply insta concede at the start of the match to progress the quest so now like always I have to waste my and opponent's time by roping each turn and hope my opponent have enough brains to kill me quickly.

    *sigh*

     Why you need to rope?

I asked that but then assumed that what they do is queue in and then switch app or something. Very self centered and selfish thing to do tbh.

Bit like an abusive partner "why do you MAKE me have to hit you?"

the slot machine that is Hearthstone

Which some countries are rightfully voting laws against...

I like it personally, enjoyed opening packs since I was a kid with things like football stickers, Pokemon cards etc.

People need hand holding through absolutely everything these days though, soon well be voting against fun all together, can't wait.

No, there are people who can handle alcohol, and there are alcoholics. Good for you if it’s fun to you, but I’m an addict, $8k deep in this shit.

Then you need to see a therapist, not blame Blizzard for it.

There is literally nothing in the game you need to spend 8k on, and I can't even think of what you COULD spend 8k on

Here's someone else who already did the math:

    https://www.reddit.com/r/hearthstone/comments/aoguh9/full_hearthstone_history_of_economy_in_one/

To collect every single card, at the beginning of 2019, you would have needed to spend around $2300.

Add in 2019 and 2020, and I'll even give you a super wide estimate and say $3300.

So how exactly did you spend over double the amount that it would take to get a full collection? Were you thirsting hard for full golden or some shit? Even buying every single collectible would have only got you to like 4k maybe

My guess would be multiple accounts?

But if that is the case, I think it's a bit of a joke that someone makes multiple accounts does far more pack opening than is even close to average and then has the nerve to say that everybody should be stopped doing it or that pack systems are unfair and should be banned etc, when plenty of us enjoy them responsibly.

For everyone moaning abiut bad pack luck, did you never go to the game shop on a Saturday adn spend all of your money on Pokemon cards, just to get another 20 weedles? I must have opened hundreds of sticker packs looking for the bottom half of Steve Bruce to finish my 95/96 (I think that's the right year!) football sticker album.

I never got a shiny Charizard, I never got that last sticker. That's just life, sometimes you're dealt lemons. I enjoy opening packs, I don't want to just have cards listed in a store that I buy as I want. Half of the fun of these things is grinding towards getting those top end cards or that gear set or that player which is the missing piece of your ultimate team.

But everytime someone opens packs and doesn't get what they want, they have to tell the Internet and demand that its unfair. Exactly the same on the fifa forums, they've been trying to get packs banned there for years as well.

I get that and I have absolute sympathy for anybody with an addiction because I don't believe it's within one's control.

However, I can still purchase alcohol. Now, if they prohibited alcohol completely due to the fact that there are alcoholics, I would have a problem with it. I don't expect my ability to purchase and enjoy alcohol to be impacted by your addiction.

Same with this, society can't bend to accommodate the needs of a minority and this pandemic has shown just how dangerous it is to wrap people up so much that they can't think for themselves.

posted a message on Classic is actually better than Standard and Wild

I should add though that if you're enjoying it more, OP, then good for you. I'd hope there's some way of extending the life of classic because I'm sure there are others like you. Possibly end up bringing on the first expansions, up to the point of the standard/wild split.

Maybe they will see how engaged people are and then decide whether to put anytime/further development into it.

Not my bag but I can see why it's appealing for others, hopefully it can remain that way for you all.
