But with Justicar played you just need to armor up (or better: Tank Up!) only 10 times to get 40 armor. That seems at least possible...

As to the Cards, I am not very experienced with Warrior. However, it seems that you could use an Acolyte of Pain and maybe one Whirlwind or Revenge. And the acolyte also works pretty well with the cruel taskmaster, granting you at least one card draw, more likely two. I am also not really sold on the brewmasters, in particular both of them. But you know better than I do whether their effect does always hit a valuable target or whether they often sit in your Hand until they get transformed into a legendary by the golden monkey.

The Brewmasters are to be used with Reno Jackson getting you 2 extra life resets. The combo is the whole point of the deck actually. Without it you would not survive imo.

How does justicar get you 40 armor in one match? I just dont see how you can armor up 20 times and still play cards every turn. Or are you counting the 2 armor you get from your base hero power as something she gives you?

Typically once you have Justicar down you'll want to armor up every single turn unless you desperately need to board clear or deal with a big minion. 40 might be a stretch, more like 30+ :)

I do understand it is Fatigue Warrior, but I personally think the deck needs a little bit more card draw. I would recommend at least Harrison Jones for this spot.

Also for my experience, one of the weaknesses of extreme fatigue deck like this, is the lack of pressure against active OTK deck (not proactive like Freeze Mage). I found myself a lot of time letting Murloc Paladin or Maly Warlock too much free time to find their combo piece. Basically I can not do anything to stop them from their comfortable zone, then get bursted down. Not sure Feugen and Stalagg gonna help, but interesting idea.

Your response actually answers the guy below lol it's exactly why the deck needs minions so you're not just sitting there armoring up every turn. I've found Feugen/Stalagg deathrattling quite often, but card draw would be nice for sure, I'll give Harrison a go actually. Btw freeze mage is actually a very good matchup in my experience as long as you have an answer to Antonidas.
    Quote from Ono_Palaver >>

Feugen and Stalagg aren't doing anything towards your strategy. What are you supposed to do with this pile of stats? Fatigue warrior doesn't need minions at all basically. Only removals, life/armor gain and Elise.

     Disagree with no minions.

Here's the deck I've been messing around with:

    http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/446803-fatigue-reno-warrior

Goal: Gain life and armor, clear minions, gain life and armor, clear minions, repeat.

The deck usually wins against most aggro decks including Face Hunter and Secret Paladin, has most trouble with Zoo as they have the most burst potential in a single turn.

Deck is extremely fun to play with that even when I lose I'm quite enjoying it (I'm usually a rank 5+ player).

    Any suggestions would be welcome!

Someone help me understand why suddenly we have so many new complains about "no new mechanics" right after an expansion that added the "on hand" mechanic...

I understand the absence of instants like the ones in MTG, but adding that would be terrible for an online, MOBILE game and it would also only achieve longer games...

Instants don't work very well online no doubt. But we're talking about lack of mechanics overall.

One thing that has surprised me is the lack of stealth use. Blood Imp is a great example. When I first saw that card I basically thought "Enchantment (MTG)". To MTG players, obviously this is self explanatory. I don't see why you can't create cards such as Blood Imp, whether it has stealth, is a different card type or whatever, and have it trigger an effect every turn or upon a specific action. Or effects that affect both players, which means it would only be beneficial if you build your deck around this effect (Howling Mine and Lethal Vapors (MTG) comes to mind). This would encourage deck creativity. More importantly, decks that revolve around a card or a combo. I personally think Grim Patron was one of the best things to happen. How many decks in Hearthstone really revolve around one or two cards with the rest of the deck playing support AND is competitive? I'm getting bored of decks that just smash face ftw.

New game modes is the easiest temporary solution to the repetition. Really hoping a tournament mode comes.

    conspiracy theory:

They moved the crafting mode button to the bottom. Does that mean they need the space on top to add new classes? MAYBE!

It really is sad that Blizzard immediately went for the Powercreep option without even trying to add new mechanics to the game.

This. They could have explored other options before going straight for the power creep. Less than a year into the game, we're already at 1 mana for a 2/3, granted there's a drawback, but things are only going to get worse. You can't reverse power creep, it only continues to climb. I just don't see how this game will sustain itself for years to come. I suppose they can go the format route like other TCGs and drop the power level in new sets.

    Quote from DaajRazgul »

how is it sane, the perception before was that control counters aggro, aggro counters mid, mid counters control, now you can't play a real control deck because you can't keep up with aggro, so i don't get how that's sane, there are no more control decks in the game except for control warrior of which you don't see that much anymore, so i'd like to understand how that's healthy. aggro decks are by no means unbeatable but they are overplayed in ladder and they cancel the possibility to make one of the most important archetype of decks.

Exactly. When one archetype has gotten so powerful that it's basically completely eliminated another archetype, there's an issue.

They just need to fix the ladder - I don't mind aggro decks existing but I am sick of playing against them.  At least 3/4 of my games are against some form of aggro - face hunter, zoo, etc.  They need to introduce a system where playing more games doesn't necessarily mean climbing faster even with a worse win rate.  I like playing control or fatigue decks but you really get punished for it.  I don't have any answers on how to do this but c'mob Blizzard PLZ.

The ladder is ok. You need to fix your perception of what the ladder is and what you want it to be (two distinct things).

Aggro is a pretty sane way for the meta to never let greedy decks out of check. I like this. Deal with it.

Remhouse obviously plays aggro on the ladder. Otherwise you wouldn't be defending it in every post. Aggro decks are fine, they exist in all card games. The problem is that as mentioned above, it equals faster games played, more gold, quicker ladder climbing, and ergo 3/4 of players run them. Change the ladder system somehow, or introduce new game modes that encourage variety.

One solution: sideboards and tournaments. Allow a 6-10 card sideboard that you're allowed to switch in and out before a match. Implement this in a new game mode like a tournament mode where the decklist of your opponent is available to see before the match, give a 1 minute timer to sideboard and start the match. I would have absolutely no issues with netdecks and aggro if you can sideboard. It would add another layer of skill in this game.

I think one of the biggest problems for Hearthstone is that the game is limited to 2 card types. When this game was introduced, I was like...really? It's like MTG for noobs. Started playing it, appreciated some of the skill that it does require, but now I'm back to thinking it's just too bare bones. I'm not exactly surprised the game is as simple as it is because obviously Blizzard wants to make money and they don't want difficulty to be an issue to new comers, but there's really so much you can do with a turn based (no instants/response like MTG) card game that has only 2 card types.

I think there still aren't enough cards and I think Blizzard made aggro cards far too powerful from the get go. The majority of games played are still Hunters and Zoo. Now when new cards come out, people are expecting better cards to update their decks with. Where does it end? People who have or still do play MTG, remember how many years it took for something better than 1 mana 2/1 Savannah Lions to come out? 15 years? The power creep is too fast. But I suppose it's bound to happen considering there are only 2 card types in this game. Spells and minions. What do you think? New mechanics? Card types? Heroes?

Here's the situation. I'm playing Warlock. I have Jaraxxus and Majordomo Executus in play. I'm down to 1. My opponent playing freeze mage I activated his second block and he's down to 1 or 2.

I Shadow Bolted my own Executus, then I played Hellfire which killed it. Now here's the weird thing. I had never done this before but it was my only play and I figured it might work that I would turn into Rag and go back up to 8. As the Executus died, I did indeed become Rag, animation and all, and this was AFTER Hellfire had already killed the Executus obviously. But right after I turned into Rag (no health number was showing though), I died. Why?

I can understand if you say the Hellfire triggered first and killed me as Jaraxxus cause I was down to 1, but why show that I turned into Rag after the fact and then kill me via Hellfire?

So, Hellfire dealt three damage to you and majordomo, leaving you at -2 health and majordomo at 0 health. You are then both declared dead. Then the deathrattle triggers after both you and majordomo are dead, but since you already died then the deathrattle doesn't stop you from losing.

This is kind of like how hellfiring at 1hp when the opp has Zombie Chow still kills you - the spell resolves, then things are declared dead then deathrattles go off.

I get what you're saying, logically I should die yes. I just don't understand the order of things that were shown on screen, especially the fact that the deathrattle animation triggered after I should have already been dead. I died AFTER the Executus died AND triggered the Rag transformation animation. Blizzard should just remove the activation of the animation completely.

Even if there were no websites sharing decks, people on their own would find out the most optimal builds... Sure a few differences here or there, but majority of decks would still be the same. People of average intelligence can clearly see which cards are better and how they work together on a whole to make the best decks. This argument is invalid, and makes no real sense. Were social creatures, get over it or go live in a cave somewhere.

Edit: I find it odd your complaining about people wanting to win in a competitive game.

First of all, I highly doubt people would end up playing the same decks with only a few minor differences. At the minimum it would encourage people to get a little creative and actually think of something themselves instead of turning to a decklist online.

Second, I can understand why people so desperately want to win above all else, I guess lately I've been comparing this to Pokemon TCG (I play both on iPad). I never rage in that game even if I lose horribly. Because the rankings are invisible and you earn a reward after win or loss. Sure it sounds like it's geared for kids (and actually, most people there are pretty old) and it isn't competitive but actually it encourages people to have fun and get creative. I just wish Hearthstone would have a similar mode I guess.

    Quote from Rogozjin »

I think the play mode you're looking for is Arena.

I like Arena. But again, problem is you need gold to play it, which I find pretty stupid. Yes it's because you earn a pack at the end. So why not create a casual Arena mode? I'd be all over that and I bet a lot of people would be too.

There are some new "decks" now with GvG, but within a week, everyone is already running the same shit over and over again. The problem lies in the fact that everyone just HAS to win apparently because of the ladder. Casual is worthless because you can't earn gold. I can perhaps understand your netdecking needs once you've past rank 5 but from 20-5? Really? Netdecking and emoting because you think you're some hot shit for coming up with a decklist you copied off a site? What's even more pathetic is when you actually lose to innovative and original concepts. I've accepted the fact that rank 10+ that is all you'll see, but I think it's ridiculous people still feel the need to just copy a decklist from as low as rank 20.

P.S. I'm not whining because I'm rank 20 and can't win. I hit 5 and am getting sick of it. I actually wish you could just reset your ranking without having to purposely lose games.

yes please. to my shame i have to admit that i didnt find a way to win without alex (i tried like 5-6 times)...

(with standard freeze mage i won at first try)

You couldn't have possibly survived 10 turns. Either that or you got super lucky with Doomsayers. Screenshot to prove. I've been trying freeze mage and it gets stomped.

EDIT: LOL what lies. Alex doesn't even WORK. It gets vanished and the game says "I won't stand for such cheap tactics." lmao
