Owl is one of the best two drops in the game
It's arguably one of the best two cost cards in the game, but it's not even remotely a two-drop. No one is blindly plopping this onto the field the instant they have two mana available. It's highly situational.
A "drop" is a card that is played at a given cost with little to no regard for the strategic implications. The card fits the cost curve, it's hitting the table. Pretty much the entire contents of zoo and face hunter, but not the owl.

Instants don't work very well online no doubt. But we're talking about lack of mechanics overall.
One thing that has surprised me is the lack of stealth use. Blood Imp is a great example. When I first saw that card I basically thought "Enchantment (MTG)". To MTG players, obviously this is self explanatory. I don't see why you can't create cards such as Blood Imp, whether it has stealth, is a different card type or whatever, and have it trigger an effect every turn or upon a specific action. Or effects that affect both players, which means it would only be beneficial if you build your deck around this effect (Howling Mine and Lethal Vapors (MTG) comes to mind). This would encourage deck creativity. More importantly, decks that revolve around a card or a combo. I personally think Grim Patron was one of the best things to happen. How many decks in Hearthstone really revolve around one or two cards with the rest of the deck playing support AND is competitive? I'm getting bored of decks that just smash face ftw.

New game modes is the easiest temporary solution to the repetition. Really hoping a tournament mode comes.

Remhouse obviously plays aggro on the ladder. Otherwise you wouldn't be defending it in every post. Aggro decks are fine, they exist in all card games. The problem is that as mentioned above, it equals faster games played, more gold, quicker ladder climbing, and ergo 3/4 of players run them. Change the ladder system somehow, or introduce new game modes that encourage variety.
One solution: sideboards and tournaments. Allow a 6-10 card sideboard that you're allowed to switch in and out before a match. Implement this in a new game mode like a tournament mode where the decklist of your opponent is available to see before the match, give a 1 minute timer to sideboard and start the match. I would have absolutely no issues with netdecks and aggro if you can sideboard. It would add another layer of skill in this game.
I think one of the biggest problems for Hearthstone is that the game is limited to 2 card types. When this game was introduced, I was like...really? It's like MTG for noobs. Started playing it, appreciated some of the skill that it does require, but now I'm back to thinking it's just too bare bones. I'm not exactly surprised the game is as simple as it is because obviously Blizzard wants to make money and they don't want difficulty to be an issue to new comers, but there's really so much you can do with a turn based (no instants/response like MTG) card game that has only 2 card types.

I think there still aren't enough cards and I think Blizzard made aggro cards far too powerful from the get go. The majority of games played are still Hunters and Zoo. Now when new cards come out, people are expecting better cards to update their decks with. Where does it end? People who have or still do play MTG, remember how many years it took for something better than 1 mana 2/1 Savannah Lions to come out? 15 years? The power creep is too fast. But I suppose it's bound to happen considering there are only 2 card types in this game. Spells and minions. What do you think? New mechanics? Card types? Heroes?

There are some new "decks" now with GvG, but within a week, everyone is already running the same shit over and over again. The problem lies in the fact that everyone just HAS to win apparently because of the ladder. Casual is worthless because you can't earn gold. I can perhaps understand your netdecking needs once you've past rank 5 but from 20-5? Really? Netdecking and emoting because you think you're some hot shit for coming up with a decklist you copied off a site? What's even more pathetic is when you actually lose to innovative and original concepts. I've accepted the fact that rank 10+ that is all you'll see, but I think it's ridiculous people still feel the need to just copy a decklist from as low as rank 20.
P.S. I'm not whining because I'm rank 20 and can't win. I hit 5 and am getting sick of it. I actually wish you could just reset your ranking without having to purposely lose games.

I personally feel 1x Recombobulator has a role in this deck. It's a surprise that catches people off guard. There are many times where my opponent had for example a 4/4 taunt and a 1/1, I had a 8/5 giant, my opponent assumes I would have to hit the 4/4 and he gets to take out my giant with the 1/1 on his turn, only to find himself facing a replenished 8/8 completely derailing his planned move.
As for BGH, I would rather run a second Siphon Soul. Hard removal with life gain. Late game, a 2 health minion isn't likely to survive a turn. Just my opinion.

Great deck. I had the same idea with the Recombobulator as well but found that 2x is 1 too many. It's a dead card until mid to late game. I'm currently running a list that is:
-1 Recombobulator, -1 Shadowflame
+1 Alexstrasza, +1 Hellfire
Without Sylvannas/Deathrattle/Ancient Watcher/Power Overwhelming shenanigans, I find the Shadowflames underwhelming when you need to clear the board. The meta has seem to gone more aggro and the Hellfire seems to perform better against many decks. If the meta slows down, I would even consider 1x Twisting Nether.
I've also found that Alexstrasza as an extra lifeline on top of Lord Jaraxxus or just to bring your opponent down to 2 hits with giants range to be very effective. Although Dr. Boom, Mal'Ganis or an extra Faceless Manipulator are also worth a look.

That's unfortunate. What rank are you and what decks do you see?

Nice. You're absolutely right. I never claimed it was some epic T1 legend deck lol I honestly just had a random idea, slapped it together and went on a ridiculous run when I had trouble ranking up so I just decided to share it that's all.

I think I will try the Bloodmage too. Mainly because of the Arcane Missiles.
I really think you need to play this deck a very specific way to be successful. The games you lose it blows because usually you sit there with no answers, an empty hand and no board wishing you had draw spells. But at the same time, you wouldn't be winning all those other games if the deck had those options. Maybe you would but it would play out differently and the results would vary. Pros and cons lol I think the general strategy/idea of the deck is solid for its purposes, just needs to be tweaked and worked around. I hit rank 4 too but now it's starting to be challenging winning about 50-60%?
