posted a message on In defense of Genn and Baku

I very much agree with you, however the problem I see with Genn/Baku is that some Hero Powers are just straight up better then others. I'm playing Even Rogue, and having a 1 mana dagger is very useful and it's pretty easy to drop a 5/5 on turn 3. it rotates out in April tho, so it's gonna need some support to be playable past rank 15. But other classes either just lose too much cutting odd or even cards, or their hero power doesn't make up for the loss. There's no real point playing Even Mage as it gets nothing in return for cutting odd cards. I love the mechanics of Odd and Even and wouldn't mind the devs making them evergreen.

One thing I like about casual is that sometimes you are only doing it to complete a play X cards quest, and you find an opponent who realizes and doesn't take lethal to let you finish.  I'll do that also and obviously if I'm wrong they can just concede.  Made some friends that way which is nice.

There's not many moments for a cooperative spirit in Hearthstone so I personally enjoy them when they happen.

Had this happen recently, a guy was playing a full Even Shaman deck and after he realized I was just tossing cards, he let me play my entire deck. I just thanked him at the end of the match and attacked into his minion for lethal, it was good sportsmanship.

posted a message on What cards will you miss the most in April??

Well honestly, I think the state of the game will be much much better when the OP expanisons rotate out, that I don't think I will miss any cards. Maybe Warlock Quest, since we got very good discard synergy.

posted a message on Ramp druid 10 mana hero card

It is extremely fucking OP imo. I do like the idea of a balanced 10 mana Druid Hero card that uses ramp mechanics since it's supposed to be Druid's identity. But definitely not a Hero Power Mechatun wthout any conditions.

posted a message on Question from the new guy

If you just started playing, and especially if you plan on being F2P, you should buy the first 10 packs from every expansion before crafting cards, including the Classic packs. After that, since it's January you should avoid buying packs that rotate out, and avoid crafting Epics/Legendaries from those expansions. It will hurt in the beginning, but it will pay off in the long run. Of course if you plan on playing Wild then buy any expansion, but that would be extremely expensive/time consuming. Just my 2 cents.

I voted ok just because I don't think Nourish AND Growth deserved the nerfhammer. Mostly Growth.

So far there's been a lot of letdown about the RR expansion and the rumble run game mode and all bliz and their fanboys have said was this for the most part(i admit there's been people doing the usual:"Oh they can't release good cards because the rotation is coming soon" argument), but this is a terrible excuse. The meta has been rundown and garbage since witchwood and they have done very little to solve it, and even when they attempt to solve it(Ex: the nerfs to quest rogue) it does nothing.

(of course we still have Genn/Baku decks, but that's another mistake that MAY have be necessary due to the mistakes of last year.  I hold my theory that they knew Genn/Baku were too strong but that without them we would rage over staleness LONG before the reset happened and decided to just have those two be OP and work around them best they can)

I agree with everything you said except this. I don't understand why people complain so much about Baku/Genn as I find them extremely interesting. With the exception of Odd Rogue and Odd Paladin which will hopefully be significantly weaker after rotation, these decks are interesting. I'm playing Even Rogue, Even Priest and Odd Mage right now and they are very fun, and far from OP. In fact I'm finding them very balanced and few of my games are decided early. I hope Even Priest will get some love next expansion, but right now it's not too bad.

Baku and Genn cards are good design IMO, it's just that Hearthstone lacks the card number to make those decks versatile and useful for every class. The only thing I don't like about them is that they made their effect universal instead of tailored for every class separately to make both Odd and Even Hero Powers useful for each class.

posted a message on The Genn and Baku Problem: Perpetual Degeneracy in Wild Format

Genn and Baku don't "limit" decks. They are cards you build a deck around. The crucial problem with these cards is that Blizzard made their effect universal. You don't really benefit from a 1 mana 1/1 dagger in Rogue. Especially when there are a lot of ridiculous Rogue cards that are Odd.

They had to make the effects of Baku and Genn unique to each class. Something like in Rogue 2/2 dagger with Baku and for Genn 1 mana give a minion poisonous (this is just rambling, I realize this is OP, but you get the point). Or in Warrior 4 armor Baku and 2 targeted armor with Genn. This way every class could make great use of each HP and be at least somewhat viable.

However another problem is that Standard has too few cards to make this work, and Wild is just a dumpster fire.

posted a message on Get Into The Rumble Zone With These Rastakhan Deck Lists

I think it depends on the draw. If you draw slower cards, you need to rely on DK for sustain late game and try to protect protect Ragnaros and it can get pretty tedious. But it can win vs control, it just takes longer.

Maybe not tier 1, but I doubt it's going to be tier 3. It's not bad vs agro, and has burst and sustain vs combo/control. There might be a decklist that's tier 1 that will be refined over time, it has potential. I love the deck, super fun to play.

posted a message on Help with my Odd-Emental Mage

IMO there's no reason to be so elemental focused with an odd deck, it's just too clunky. Absolute must includes in Odd Mage are 2x Pyromaniac and 2x Daring Fire-Eater. I'm testing right now with low cost spells like Splitting Image, big spell package and Spiteful Summoner, Dragoncaller Alanna maybe even Zola the Gorgon. So far, the deck seems solid and super fun to play.

Honestly this card just made Captain Hooktusk unplayable with all the resources Rogue has to draw pirates and play them. (prep, Raiding Party, play pirates, break weapon into pirates with rush with less rng and more planning)

posted a message on What New Deck Will You Bring?

I'm going to try Pirate Rogue/Deathrattle Rogue with the new legendaries, although Pirate Rogue seems like it's going to be pretty bad at least until the next expansion. Other than that, definitely Priest with the new legendaries/spirit. Priest legendaries and spirit have great synergy with eachother and it seems like it's going to be fun.

IMO it's pretty underwhelming and situational, with a boring Hero Power, and I'm frankly offended that they didn't name the HP Taz'dingo.
